MAHAR condemns abuse of Palestinian child detainees in Israel
The organisation described the treatment of minors as a grave injustice requiring immediate global intervention.
MAHAR adviser Nurul Izzah Anwar emphasised that no child should experience the trauma of forced detention.
'The targeting of children is not only a violation of international convention but also it is a stain on our shared humanity. We must act with urgency to stop this injustice,' she said.
Reports from humanitarian groups reveal disturbing patterns of abuse, including physical violence during arrests, threats against families, and forced confessions.
MAHAR has demanded transparent investigations and accountability for those responsible.
The organisation urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), ASEAN nations, and the international community to take diplomatic action.
It also called for independent monitoring of detention centres and enforcement of child protection laws in occupied territories.

After more than two weeks of back and forth, efforts by mediators Qatar, Egypt and the United States are at a standstill. The proposal on the table involves a 60-day ceasefire and the release of 10 living hostages in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. Hamas insists any agreement must include guarantees for a lasting end to the war. Israel rejects any such guarantees, insisting that Hamas must give up its capacity to fight or govern as a prerequisite for peace. RAMALLAH, July 23 (Bernama-WAFA) -- The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that the number of administrative detainees, including women and children held in Israeli prisons, has surpassed 3,600 as of early July, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported. In a statement issued last Tuesday, the commission and PPS said Israeli occupation authorities issued administrative detention orders against 25 Palestinian detainees. The period of the detentions varied between three and six months.

The Israeli army killed 15 Palestinians in an attack on a house in the northwest of Gaza City.
