Die-hard fans of the soap will remember him for playing Sam Kratz, who during his time on the soap became a pin-up on teenagers' bedroom walls. Richard's character rode into Ramsay Street in 1994 on a motorcycle clad in a leather jacket. He was an instant hit, and soon secured his Neighbours star heartthrob status. Richard previously revealed how he was unsure about attending the audition for Sam, after he learned that producers were looking for "a mega-hunk". However, he borrowed a leather jacket to make himself look more like the character, and he was told that he had the role a week after the audition. After leaving Neighbours in 1996, he joined rival soap Home and Away, playing Dr Lachlan Fraser. H. Staying with soaps, he then headed to blighty and starred in Emmerdale for two years until 2009. Sam is joined in his Neighbours return by Kimberley Davies, who appeared as Annalise Hartman from 1993 to 1996. The 52-year-old later moved to the United States, appearing in episodes of Friends and Ally McBeal. 90s soap bombshell hasn't aged a day as she returns to show twenty years after quitting The pair were pictured reuniting in a promo picture for their forthcoming return. Meanwhile, it comes after it was recently revealed how the final episode of Neighbours could reportedly 'fall flat"' - due to a lack of legends returning. So far, Richard and Kimberley are the only ones. However, bosses' attempts to bring back A-listers this time around have reportedly not panned out. According to Daily Mail Australia, stars such as Margot Robbie, Natalie Imbruglia, Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe are all said to have snubbed the final episode. An insider told the publication: "The cast of the current season will need to rely on the storylines that involve their characters, because breaking out the cheque book won't cover it." Regarding the 2022 finale, the source added: "The mega stars waived their usual million dollar fees and felt like they were waving goodbye to the show that launched them. It was very classy. "The fact that Alan Fletcher, Jackie Woodburn and Ryan Maloney were tipped off as the show was saved during Neighbours' 'farewell tour' was pretty awkward in retrospect." The last episode of Neighbours will air on December 11.

More info Singer Richard Ashcroft gave a sweet goodbye to his Edinburgh fans as he enjoyed a pint at the airport Wetherspoons. Sharing an image on Instagram, the former frontman of The Verve enjoyed a beverage after wrapping up his opening performances for Oasis on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday night. With around 70,000 fans at each gig, the singer said "salute Edinburgh" and said the experience will "live with him forever". He said: "Salute Edinburgh. Cooling down at the airport, just wanted to thank everyone who came down to the shows and gave so much love. "The people I met on the street with your kind words and positivity, it will live with me forever. See some of you again next year in Glasgow when we take the roof off the gaff. "Peace and love forever, RA." Fans were quick to share their thoughts after Richard shared the sweet message. One person said: "People will talk about Oasis but you were their equal tonight." A second said: "Absolute legend. Friday was amazing. Hopefully get tickets for Glasgow next year." A third wrote: "Nice to meet you in Edinburgh sir Richard. It was a pleasure and you were fantastic at Murrayfield." The star previously paid a visit to Portobello's seaside promenade before taking to the stage on Saturday night. Except I recently tracked down the big love-of-his-life ex on social media (it took some doing, as he's not very active and they are not connected, plus I only knew her first name), and the things he has bought me are very much in her taste. It's not that he's bought the same stuff again, more of a general vibe. Before I made the connection, I thought it all suited me, though the ex and I are not very alike. But inevitably I'm worried that he's trying to shape me to be more like her. I'd like to mention it – but of course I wouldn't know about it if I hadn't been cyberstalking his ex. Any advice? – G, via Dear G, I'm going to be honest. I think your behaviour is definitely on the creepy side, and now you're reaping what you've sowed. You need to examine your actions, learn from this whole episode and step back – otherwise I see trouble ahead for you in future close relationships. Look. It's not as if you stumbled accidentally over this personal, buried-in-the-past, mostly irrelevant information. By your own admission, you really had to go digging. (You only had your boyfriend's ex's first name to work with – how long were you online for, G? Hours?) I can understand your curiosity to know more about his former significant other – so why didn't you just ask? Why go snooping and ferreting around behind his back? You're right – it is cyberstalking. And if your boyfriend discovers that's what you've been up to, comparing gifts and drawing suspicious, quasi-paranoid conclusions, he's likely to be pretty spooked. I know I would be. So what if he has an eye for a particular type of gift? It doesn't imply anything odd or suspicious. It just reveals an underlying personal taste. It's not in the least sinister, G. Meanwhile, it's not what you've gone looking for (the information you uncovered is, by any reckoning, trivial); it's why. To me, G, it speaks of controlling, even obsessive behaviour.
