Jennifer Love Hewitt stuns in little black dress during rare red carpet appearance
Jennifer Love Hewitt is turning heads with a rare red carpet appearance.
In one of her only red carpet jaunts over the last six years, the actress turned heads in a black dress adorned with beads at the July 14 premiere of the newest film in the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" franchise. While debuting copper locks, she paired her all-black look with sparkling heels and rings.
Hewitt, 46, rose to fame with costar Freddie Prinze Jr., 49, in the original 1997 film "I Know What You Did Last Summer." In the film, Hewitt's character, Julie James, was among the teen targets of a mysterious killer.
In the 2025 version (in theaters July 18), the plot takes place nearly 30 years after the murders wreaked havoc on the small North Carolina town. In the film, new victims (played by Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers and Sarah Pidgeon) – who are targeted by a mysterious killer – seek help from Prinze and Hewitt's characters.
Jennifer Love Hewitt opens up about aging 'as humans, we want to evolve'
Hewitt and Prinze were members of a quasi-Brat Pack including fellow Hollywood stars like Prinze's wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, whom he met while filming the first movie. Ryan Phillippe, Johnny Galecki and Anne Heche also starred in the original.

Both the "Last Summer" series and 1998's "Can't Hardly Wait" became cult classics, cementing Hewitt as a '90s teen idol, but Hewitt got candid last year about the public's response to how she grows older.
Though the actress said "it's not personally hard" for her to embrace aging, for fans, it's a different story. "I feel like fans pick … this age that they love that they think represents you, and you're never supposed to grow beyond that," she told Fox News, referencing a quote from Taylor Swift's documentary "Miss Americana" in which the pop star says something similar.
"People seem to have a really hard time accepting that … I don't look that way anymore," Hewitt said.
"Whatever it is, you just want to have the freedom to be whoever you are at that age," Hewitt added. "And it's hurtful sometimes when people reject you as you are verbally on Instagram or the internet because they're having a hard time adjusting to it."

Amal Clooney Dazzles in a Sequin Dress During Italian Night Out With George
THE RUNDOWN Amal and George Clooney have been enjoying another summer in Italy—and got dressed up for a special evening out on Wednesday. The couple was photographed arriving for dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Amal wore a form-fitting one-shoulder silver sequin dress from Badgley Mischka, styled her hair down in soft waves, and accessorized with dangle earrings and matching heels. The Clooneys have kept a low profile over the past few months, following George's run on Broadway for Good Night, and Good Luck. In late June, they made an appearance at The King's Trust and TK Maxx and Homesense Awards in London. For the event, George was in a navy suit while Amal wore a stunning white column gown by 16Arlington. Back in April, George made headlines when he revealed he and Amal 'still haven't' had an argument during their more than 10 years of marriage. 'Amal and I are having a really great time in life,' he told Gayle King on CBS Mornings. 'Well, our kids [Alexander and Ella] are 7, about to be 8, which is a pretty great age. They're really curious and funny. And every parent thinks their kids are great, and our kids are funny. They make us laugh.' 'And Amal and I, we were here with you once before, and we said we've never had an argument,' he added. 'And we still haven't. We're trying to find something to fight about. I think because I started so late with Amal.' (The actor began dating Amal in summer 2013, when he was 52; he is now 64.)

Gary Busey pleads guilty to criminal charge for unwanted touching
Actor Gary Busey is pleading guilty in a sexual misconduct case in New Jersey. Busey, 81, made a virtual appearance in New Jersey Superior Court Thursday, July 31, and entered a guilty plea to one charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, Busey's attorney Blair R. Zwillman confirmed to USA TODAY on Aug. 1. With the plea, Busey has admitted to "touching the buttocks of a woman without her permission," Zwillman said. The case stems from his August 2022 appearance at the Monster-Mania Convention, where several woman accused him of inappropriately touching them. The "Buddy Holly Story" actor initially faced five criminal charges in the case and pleaded not guilty during a March arraignment, court records show. Prosecutors have since dismissed the other charges. The actor was "overcharged" by county prosecutors due to his "celebrity status," Zwillman said, adding that his client should have faced a lower-level charge such as a disorderly persons offense for harassment. USA TODAY has reached out to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office for comment. Busey was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Buddy Holly in 1978's "The Buddy Holly Story." Aside from his film credits, which include "Point Break" and "Lethal Weapon," he's also forayed into reality television. In 2014, he won Season 14 of the U.K. show "Celebrity Big Brother." Busey also competed on Season 21 of "Dancing with the Stars" and in 2011 on "The Apprentice." In 2023, Busey was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run collision in Malibu. According to Entertainment Weekly, the unidentified woman whose car he collided with did not press charges against the actor.
