THE RUNDOWN
Amal and George Clooney have been enjoying another summer in Italy—and got dressed up for a special evening out on Wednesday. The couple was photographed arriving for dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Amal wore a form-fitting one-shoulder silver sequin dress from Badgley Mischka, styled her hair down in soft waves, and accessorized with dangle earrings and matching heels.
The Clooneys have kept a low profile over the past few months, following George's run on Broadway for Good Night, and Good Luck. In late June, they made an appearance at The King's Trust and TK Maxx and Homesense Awards in London. For the event, George was in a navy suit while Amal wore a stunning white column gown by 16Arlington.
Back in April, George made headlines when he revealed he and Amal 'still haven't' had an argument during their more than 10 years of marriage.
'Amal and I are having a really great time in life,' he told Gayle King on CBS Mornings. 'Well, our kids [Alexander and Ella] are 7, about to be 8, which is a pretty great age. They're really curious and funny. And every parent thinks their kids are great, and our kids are funny. They make us laugh.'
'And Amal and I, we were here with you once before, and we said we've never had an argument,' he added. 'And we still haven't. We're trying to find something to fight about. I think because I started so late with Amal.' (The actor began dating Amal in summer 2013, when he was 52; he is now 64.)

Amal Clooney Brings the Disco to Lake Como

Balance is restored in the universe: at long last, George and Amal Clooney have returned to Lake Como. The actor and human rights lawyer tend to spend the summer months in palatial Italian waterfront villas. But with George's recent starring role in Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway, the pair have deferred their Euro summer…until now. Earlier this week, the Clooneys returned to Lake Como, where they were ferried to dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo—one of their date night stalwarts—via water taxi. For the occasion, Amal opted for a one-shoulder knee-length dress from Badgley Mischka. The barrister's outfit was not wont for sparkle, from its silver sequins to its wraparound silver fringe and matching hem. She accessorized with a pair of strappy silver heels and a miniature clutch. And, of course, no look is complete without her go-to beachy waves. COBRA TEAM / BACKGRIDUSA This isn't the first time Amal has brought Studio 54 glamour to Lake Como. In 2023, she celebrated date night in a glittering silver chainmail babydoll minidress from Rabanne. And at the inaugural Albie Awards in 2022, she gave her signature sparkle the flapper treatment in a 1920s-inspired Versace dress. With all of August still ahead of us, we're sure that Amal Clooney has some more show-stopping looks up her sleeve.

Is the 2025 Song of the Summer the 'Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday' meme?

Folks, we have a huge problem. The calendar has officially shifted from July to August, and we're in a dire situation: We have no song of the summer. Last year, we were almost overflowing with options for song of the summer with absolute bops from Sabrina Carpenter ("Please, Please, Please" and "Espresso"), Chappell Roan ("Good Luck, Babe") and Taylor Swift ("I Can Do It With a Broken Heart"). If you weren't a pop fan, Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" was everywhere on its way to becoming song of the year. We even had a whole movement called Brat Summer around Charli XCX's dance-pop album, Brat. In 2025, however, we are in a bit of a dead period for the bright, fun and poppy music we've come to associate with summer. Carpenter's June 5 release of "Manchild" gave us a little something to hold us over, but it hasn't overtaken pop culture like last year's options. Slowly, we've come to realize -- thanks mostly to TikTok -- our only real option for song of the summer is... the Jet2 Holiday meme. The audio features Jess Glynne's song "Hold My Hand" as a voiceover from an advert for a travel deal plays. "Nothing beats a Jet2 Holiday," a woman's voice says. "And right now, you can save 50 pounds per person! That's 200 pounds off for a family of four!" Usually this is accompanied by a video that shows some unfortunate travel situation that's likely hilarious to everyone except those experiencing it. It's a sad state when the only song stuck in our heads through July is associated with a viral meme format, but fret not. With Chappell Roan releasing "The Subway" on August 1 and Sabrina Carpenter's Man's Best Friend album dropping on August 19, our long national nightmare might be ending as we head into fall. What is the Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday meme? As we mentioned, it's usually a travel-related mishap that's accompanied by the commercial jingle. Like this: Who sings the Jet2 Holiday song? That would be Jess Glynne, who sings "Hold My Hand."
