The 23-year-old came through the youth system at English Premier League side Chelsea.
He joined the London club's under-18s in 2018 from Viktoria Koln in Germany.
After four years at Stamford Bridge during which he never made a senior appearance, Ballo departed on a free transfer for Wolfsberger in 2022, where he has been since.
Speaking on potential incomings after a 2-2 friendly draw with Club Brugge at the weekend, Rangers head coach Russell Martin said: "I expect the team to look different again, the squad to look different in a week's time.
"But in a couple of weeks, so much can happen in football, so I don't know.
"So, I think we are, we're definitely want to do more, for sure. And also probably some players need to to move on as well at some point because the squad's going to start looking very big and very heavy. I don't know is the answer, but it will definitely look different in a week's time."

Erik ten Hag's former assistant reveals what 'disappointed' him about his two years at Man United

Erik ten Hag 's former assistant manager - Mitchell van der Gaag - has opened up about his time at Manchester United. Van der Gaag served under Ten Hag after following him from Ajax to Old Trafford in 2022, helping the Red Devils win the EFL Cup and the FA Cup in his two seasons at the club. After a shake-up of United's coaching team in the summer of 2024 - which saw Ruud van Nistelrooy replace him as assisant - Van der Gaag left the club in July that year to pursue a managerial role elsewhere. The 53-year-old was unveiled as FC Zurich's new head coach this May, signing a two-year deal with the Swiss side. Van der Gaag described his tenure at United as a 'wonderful' period, but admitted there was one major disappointment that stuck with him from the two-year spell. 'I look back on my time at Manchester United positively,' he told Givemesport. 'I think it was two wonderful years. They were very positive and I learned a lot. 'The first year was very positive because we finished in third place, won the Carabao Cup and went to the FA Cup final. 'I think the only disappointment, in my opinion, was that we could have been better in the Europa League. But I think the first year was very positive, so everyone expected that we could improve in the second season.' United bowed out of the Europa League in 2023-24 after a humiliating 5-2 aggregate defeat by Sevilla in the quarter-finals. After taking a 2-0 lead in the first leg at Old Trafford, United collapsed late on, conceding twice in the final ten minutes to leave the tie level at 2-2. But the second leg in Spain proved a disaster, with Ten Hag's side slumping to a 3-0 defeat. In his debut season, Ten Hag brought renewed optimism to Old Trafford. United finished third in the Premier League, clinched the Carabao Cup and reached the FA Cup final. But despite the silverware, his second year presented a host of challenges. United struggled to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League and exited the Champions League at the group stage. In the end, United salvaged their campaign with a dramatic win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley - a triumph that, Van der Gaag said, helped put a more positive spin on a turbulent year. He added: 'That was a very strange season [2023-24]. We were not good enough in the Premier League or Champions League. There were very strange results as well because there were games we were winning comfortably and then drawing or losing. 'But, in the end, we won the FA Cup. It puts everything in a positive way, so that was important. 'They were two years when I learned a lot, especially about the way the Premier League functions, the way football is played and the tactical variations. It was something that I really enjoyed.' Ten Hag was dismissed last October with Man United lying 14th in the Premier League after winning just four of their opening 14 matches. His departure came despite the club triggering a one-year contract extension last summer. The Dutchman had previously served as coach of Bayern Munich's second team between 2015 and 2017. Ten Hag then enjoyed an impressive spell at Utrecht, before leading Ajax to three consecutive Dutch titles and the 2019 Champions League semi-finals. At United, Ten Hag won 70 of his 128 games in charge - a 54.69 per cent win rate - the third-highest win rate of any manager to oversee 100 or more games in the club's history. The 55-year-old now manages Bayer Leverkusen, having succeeded Xabi Alonso in May.

Verstappen says Horner exit will not influence own F1 future

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium, July 24 (Reuters) - Formula One champion Max Verstappen said Christian Horner's sacking as Red Bull boss would make no difference to decisions about his own future and the team still felt like a second family. Horner's dismissal this month ended a 20-year tenure and fuelled speculation about Verstappen, with Mercedes already interested in securing the four-times world champion. "Management decided they wanted to steer the ship in a different direction probably," the Dutch driver, relaxed and smiling, told reporters at the Belgian Grand Prix on Thursday. "Everyone else of course has to anyway agree to that and look forward. And I am looking forward. "I'm equally also excited for the team now moving forward because that's what we have to do. Looking back doesn't make sense. It's not going to make you faster. "At the same time, we do appreciate of course those 20 years and especially from my side, the 10, 11 that I've been part of Red Bull. Those things will always be remembered. "The relationship between myself and Christian, for example, that doesn't change. Of course, he's not here now during a race weekend but it's still like a second family to me." Verstappen has won all his titles at Red Bull, starting in 2021, but his chances of a fifth in a row are receding fast as McLaren dominate. The 27-year-old said Red Bull's owners had every right to run the team as they saw fit. His father and former racer Jos fell out with Horner last year, with Verstappen senior urging the Briton to go. The champion said people were entitled to disagree and he had spoken recently to Horner. "The only thing that matters is that we work on the car and make it as fast as we can make it, really... the last one and a half years have not been what we want to be," he added. Asked if there was still a possibility he might not drive for Red Bull next year, he smiled: "There is also a possibility I don't wake up tomorrow. So then there is no driving at all. "Life is unpredictable. But in general, I'm very happy where I'm at." Verstappen has a contract to 2028, with release clauses, and has said he hoped to see out his career at Red Bull. Asked whether he had been surprised by Horner's exit, he replied: "I think in this world, things like that, they can happen. And when they told me I was like 'OK'. "I don't need to go into detail what they said, but I said 'OK, if you guys think that this is the way forward, I'm the driver. You decide and this is how we're going to do it." Verstappen said first impressions of new boss Laurent Mekies were good. "I like Laurent. He's a very nice guy, first of all, very clever guy," he said. "He's been in different areas of the F1 paddock as well. And I think that can be helpful."
