Wade grew up in the village of Oak Lawn. There, he attended Harold L. Reynolds High School where he was a top basketball and football player. Ultimately, he was recruited to play basketball at the University of Marquette. Eventually, Wade went on to have a storied NBA career. Altogether, he won three NBA championships with the Miami Heat (2006, 2012, 2013). In addition, he became a 13-time NBA All-Star. He played for the Heat, Bulls, and Cleveland Cavaliers over the course of 16 NBA seasons. Today, Wade is part owner of the Chicago Sky in the WNBA. Plus, he worked as an analyst for the NBA on TNT. Dwyane Wade and his connection to the Bulls Wade played for the Bulls during the 2016-2017 NBA season. Ultimately, he signed a two-year $47 million contract. While there, Wade encountered a multitude of difficulties. He struggled to mentor then Bulls guard Jimmy Butler. In which Wade later confessed to not doing a better job. In the end, the Bulls ended the season at 41-41 and made the playoffs. Then would go onto lose to the Boston Celtics in the first round. Afterward, Wade left the Bulls citing the lack of a winning culture. He ended up being traded to the Cavaliers where he reunited with LeBron James. BBC axes Survivor after one series
Survivor has been axed by the BBC. The reality series proved to be a ratings flop, and host Joel Dommett has now confirmed that it won't return for a second series. Joel, 40 - who has also hosted The Masked Singer since 2020 - told The Sun newspaper: "It just shows you how nothing is a given in telly. I thought Survivor would be huge. I thought that would be my job for the next 20 years. "I've done shows and thought that's not coming back and it keeps coming back and then you do something like Survivor, which you think is guaranteed and it doesn't come back." Earlier this year, Joel revealed that he was hoping for a second series of Survivor. The TV star also promised that changes would be made if the show came back. In an interview with the Metro newspaper, he said: 'Fingers crossed … there's a lot of stuff that we would do slightly differently. 'Like with every first series, it's hard, so I think a second series would be amazing. 'Everyone seems to really love it, so I'm excited that – hopefully – [we get to] do another one." The first episode of the rebooted Survivor - which launched in October 2023 - only received 2.6 million viewers, despite airing at the prime-time slot of 8:25pm on a Saturday, after Strictly Come Dancing. Survivor's second episode was then replaced by David Attenborough's Planet Earth III. A TV insider also previously claimed that the BBC was not keen on renewing the programme for another series. The source told the Daily Mail newspaper: 'It has come as a huge surprise that Survivor is coming back. 'It is viewed by many within the Beeb as being a very expensive flop and the general view was that it should – and would – be canned. 'To spend that amount of money on a programme that is watched by such few people surely is a silly way to spend public money."

DirecTV's free streaming service is adding 9 new channels this month - here's what to watch
MyFree DirectTV, the satellite television company's free, ad-supported streaming service, is expanding its channel lineup with a slate of new offerings from Fox, NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. Discovery. Starting on August 14 (via Cord Cutter News), MyFree will receive three NBCUniversal channels. Two Fox channels and four WBD ones will follow on August 25. It may not knock Tubi off the list of best free streaming services yet, but it does bolster DirecTV's lineup. The new channels will offer an array of programming covering crime, culinary arts, paranormal mysteries, reality TV and sports. Here's what you'll get from NBC: Fox's two channels will focus on sports and The Masked Singer. There won't be live sports on the Fox Sports feed; instead, it will show documentaries, podcasts, and segments from the FS1 studio show. The Masked Singer will feature reruns, recaps and streams from the previous 13 seasons. Here's what WBD is offering: It's an expansion of the MyFree DirectTV ad-supported service that launched in November of last year with an initial offering of 70 channels.
