Scooter Braun Says Relationship With Justin Bieber Is 'Not the Same That It Was'

Yahoo2 days ago

Scooter Braun appeared on the latest episode of The Diary of a CEO podcast
In the episode, he discussed where his relationship with Justin Bieber now stands
"I'm very proud of what we achieved and always rooting for him," said Braun while reflecting on their past
Scooter Braun is getting candid about where he stands with his former mentee Justin Bieber.
The music mogul, 43, appeared on the latest episode of The Diary of a CEO podcast, where he opened up about the state of his relationship with Bieber, 31, two years after ending their working relationship in 2023.
Braun is largely credited with discovering the "Peaches" singer in 2008, and served as his manager for many years. The mogul eventually announced his retirement from music management in 2024, after 23 years in the industry.

"We were able to achieve some amazing things. I'm very proud of what we achieved and always rooting for him," said Braun while reflecting on their past.
However, when asked how things with Bieber are now, he said their relationship is "not the same that it was."
"I think these things go ebbs and flows," said Braun. "I think there comes a point where I understand he probably wants to go on and show that he can do it."
"We worked together for so long and we had such extreme success, and I think you get to a point as a man where you want to show the world you can do it on your own," said Braun. "And I completely respect that. I think at this point, that's what he's doing. Myself and everyone from the old team is rooting for him."
Braun said that he now considers himself a "cheerleader from the side," and wants "everyone that I worked with to do well."
During the podcast, Braun also reflected on whether it "hurt" when Bieber was ready to part ways.
"No, not at that point. I think I was also at that point," said Braun. "At that point, it had been a couple years where I knew I wanted to do something else."
"I wanted to find out who I was, I wanted to experiment with a different career. We were both communicating enough with each other. The writing was on the wall," he said.

Braun, who also managed stars like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato, announced his retirement from management in June 2024, saying in a statement that he wanted to focus on raising his three children.
"I have been blessed to have had a 'Forrest Gump'-like life while witnessing and taking part in the journeys of some of the most extraordinarily talented people the world has ever seen. I'm constantly pinching myself and asking 'how did I get here?' And after 23 years this chapter as a music manager has come to an end," he wrote in a statement at the time.
Braun's comments come amid a series of cryptic social media posts shared by Bieber and growing concerns for his mental health.

Elizabeth Hurley poses nude for 60th birthday, celebrates 'love' with Billy Ray Cyrus

Elizabeth Hurley is marking her 60th birthday by professing her 'love' for new boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus and celebrating the milestone occasion in her birthday suit. 'Happy birthday to me! This year has already been a wild ride,' Hurley wrote alongside a nude photo of herself on Instagram. She went on to namecheck her longstanding business partnership with beauty brand Estée Lauder, the 20th anniversary of her eponymous swimwear company, and being 'in love' with Cyrus, whom she went public with back in April. 'Feeling very blessed and grateful for having the best friends & family in the world,' Hurley continued, adding that the snap was 'taken this afternoon… in my birthday suit.' In the photo, Hurley beamed happily as she was captured sitting in a sun-drenched grassy field with her legs crossed. Cyrus shared a photo of himself cuddling Hurley and called the actress 'the love of my life.' Meanwhile, Hurley's celeb pals and fans also took an opportunity to wish her a happy birthday. Her son, Damien, commented on her post 'Hahahah I LOVE YOU ♥️♥️♥️ happy birthday mama xxx.' Actress Patsy Kensit called Hurley 'the most beautiful kind human being' and said she was happy to see her friend finding joy again with her 'true love Billy, who is so fabulous.' America's Got Talent judge Heidi Klum called Hurley 'beautiful, smart and funny' as she shared her best wishes. 'I have never seen a more gorgeous 60-year-old,' one fan praised, while another added, 'Birthday suit suits you.' A third commenter wrote, 'Amazing woman. Amazing face. Amazing body. You spread positivity. Happy Birthday.' Hurley's birthday revelation comes after she debuted her new romance with Cyrus in April. After going Instagram official over Easter, the new couple shared a pair of loved-up images on social media, showing their infatuation with one another is real. Hurley, who met Cyrus while filming the 2022 holiday movie Christmas in Paradise, shared the snaps to her Instagram, captioning the head-over-heels photos: 'Tennessee weekend.' 'Liz spent a beautiful couple of weeks in Tennessee with Billy Ray,' a source told PEOPLE. 'She loved being surrounded by nature in a more laid-back environment. She had a great time with Billy Ray.' Cyrus and Hurley 'appreciate each other's love and friendship,' the insider added. 'They have a very special connection.' According to a source speaking to Us Weekly, the Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery star and the Achy Breaky Heart singer, 63, had been dating in secret for about four months before going public. 'Liz's friends have known about it for a while. It's not a new thing,' another insider close to Hurley told the outlet. 'She had sworn them to secrecy, and they didn't tell anyone outside her tight circle.' Another confidante said that after being 'friends for years … it turned romantic recently. Things are going well.' One source told Page Six that the relationship is the real deal. 'This is not a hoax,' a friend spilled to the outlet. 'Liz is not a hoaxy person; she's very sincere, very bright and I think she likes him.' After making their social media debut, the pair walked the red carpet at the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition in Rome last month. The duo's glam appearance in Italy came as a source told PEOPLE that Hurley 'doesn't care' that fans don't understand her romance with the musician. 'Liz doesn't care that skeptics don't get it. She's focused on the special things that they have in common, like country music,' the insider said. 'She loves his Southern vibes. He's very calm and happy around her.' In an interview with Apple Music's The Ty Bentli Show in April, Cyrus opened up on how the two reconnected after filming Christmas in Paradise together. 'We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there,' Cyrus told Bentli, according to excerpts of the interview that were published by PEOPLE and Entertainment Tonight. 'We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn't laughing a lot.' After splitting from his wife Tish, Cyrus went on to marry singer Firerose in 2023. When that relationship ended, Cyrus said that he received a text from Hurley out of the blue. ''Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I'm in your corner. You've got a friend in your corner,'' the message read, as told by Cyrus to Bentli. mdaniell@ Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus cozy up in new IG pics Elizabeth Hurley and older sister sizzle in bikinis Elizabeth Hurley shuts down theory she took Prince Harry's virginity

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Step Out for Family Member's Birthday Bash Amid Ongoing Feud

and Nicola Peltz celebrated a loved one's birthday over the weekend — as tension within Brooklyn's own famous family continues to mount. On Sunday, June 8, the couple attended a birthday party in L.A. for Nicola's older brother, Will Peltz, who turned 39 years old. Both Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, shared glimpses from the Manifest actor's birthday bash on Instagram. Nicola wore a sheer white top and a black bra paired with black pants and styled her hair in a half-up, half-down look for the party. Brooklyn also kept his outfit sleek, sporting an all-black ensemble. Will, for his part, donned a casual look, opting for a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt. 'We all love celebrating you willy 🥹🤍🫶🏻🕶️ @willpeltz i love you so much,' the actress captioned her post, which included multiple photos of she and her hubby at the soiree. Brooklyn also posted photos from the event in an Instagram carousel. The cover shot is a snap of him and Nicola smiling and walking hand in hand. Another shot showed him posing with Nicola, Will and two friends. Brooklyn seemingly enjoyed the festivities as he captioned his post, 'Such a fun night xx.' Besides Will, Nicola has six other siblings from her parents, Nelson Peltz and Claudia Heffner. She also has two half-siblings from Nelson's previous marriage. Brooklyn, whose parents are David and Victoria Beckham, has two brothers — Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20 — and a sister, Harper, 13. The family gathering comes shortly after Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from David's 50th birthday celebration in May. A source told People last month that Brooklyn and Nicola didn't show because Romeo was dating Kim Turnbull at the time. 'Brooklyn didn't want to be in the same room as her, and he told his dad that,' the insider told the publication. 'But David opted to have Kim there over Nicola.' A second source told the outlet, 'Brooklyn and Kim know each other from the past, and his family knows he's not comfortable around her.' However, Cruz set the record straight on whether there was a romantic entanglement as he wrote on Instagram, 'Brooklyn and Kim never dated.' Romeo and Kim broke up in May after dating for seven months. Brooklyn and Nicola opened up to Glamour Germany about dealing with public scrutiny in their relationship last month. 'Ignore the noise. Keep your head down, work hard, be kind,' Brooklyn told the outlet. 'People are always going to talk. What matters is that we're happy together.' 'It's not always easy. On TikTok there are always random stories popping up about us. When I see fake news, my instinct is to shut it down,' Nicola admitted. 'But it's not worth it. I just scroll past and move on.'
