TV show that 'gave fans nightmares' just got renewed for season 4

Metro21-05-2025

One of the creepiest shows on the air has just been renewed for a fourth season on Paramount Plus.
Yellowjackets is a coming-of-age meets cannibalism saga that sees a women's football team fly to compete at nationals, when their plane crashes in the wilderness, postcode: middle of nowhere.
Starring a stand-out cast including Christina Ricci and Melanie Lynskey, the show operates at two timelines: the women in middle-age still reckoning with the traumatic longtail of what they did to survive, alongside flashbacks to their younger selves stranded in the woods.
The third season sees the teenage survivors approaching their second winter in the wilderness, when the proverbial really starts to hit the fan. The finale finally answered the question of Pit Girl's identity – who we see in the show's very first flashforward scene – as well as several other lingering questions to leave fans on a cliffhanger in both timelines.
Paramount Plus and Showtime have now confirmed Yellowjackets will return for a fourth season, after the latest finale shattered records with three million cross-platform viewers worldwide in its first seven days.
Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios said in a statement announcing the renewal: '[Co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson] have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon.
'A perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast.'
The renewal is in line with the original plans for the show, which was pitched as a five-season arc Lyle recently said they're 'still on track for'.
She told EW: 'We don't really see this as being more than a five-season show. I think that there are shows that can go forever, but I think that when you're telling such a deeply serialized story and it's about these characters' lives, you want to reach a satisfying conclusion and not just drag things out forever.'
The show has already proved to be a juggernaut among viewers, breeding rampant online discourse of theories and Easter egg hunts. But it's certainly not one for the squeamish or pearl-clutchers.
TV fans have shared their (spoiler free) thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), with many noting how creepy ther show can turn. @thirty4seventy5 wrote: 'Finished 2 seasons in a week. Have nightmares about it when I sleep with me on the plane. More Trending
'One of the most disturbing stories I've watched so far honestly.. And I've seen really sick s***… The concept of evil is so genuinely mastered.'
@Meld0gg added: 'Seriously, Yellowjackets on Showtime gave me nightmares! How the f*** could you!!!' while @kevc1980 wrote: 'Holy crap, Yellowjackets is INCREDIBLE. Warning it's disturbing AF, but so addicting. Best new show on TV right now.
@J_Love_Watts chimed: 'Yellowjackets is already one of the most disturbing shows I've seen this year…I LOVE IT.'

Andy Cohen weighs into Trump and Elon Musk spat with wild offer for them to do a Real Housewives reunion show

Andy Cohen is chiming in with a bizarre offer in an effort to bring an end to the new feud between President Donald Trump and X owner Elon Musk. Musk, the 53-year-old Tesla magnate who purchased Twitter for $44 billion and turned it into X, became one of President Trump's top advisors, leading up the newly-established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). However he left his government post in late May 2025, after his 130-day deadline as a special government employee expired. While it seemed that Musk parted ways with Trump and his government post amicably, things quickly turned ugly when Musk criticized Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. A feud started quickly, after Musk called the bill, 'an abomination,' as Trump threatened to terminated Musk's government contracts, while Musk alleged that Trump has ties to Jeffrey Epstein and even called for his impeachment. Now Andy Cohen has chimed in with a hilarious solution to this new feud: a Real Housewives-style reunion show. 'LET ME HOST THE REUNION!' Cohen tweeted on Thursday afternoon in all caps, along with an American flag emoji. Jared Moskowitz, a Democratic U.S. Representative from Florida, even got in on the fun, designing a seating chart, in true Bravo fashion. Moskowitz kept with the Bravo tradition of having the two pivotal figures from each Housewives season in the first chairs on either side of Cohen, with, naturally, Trump and Musk taking the top seats. Following Trump is his Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Flanking Musk was Peter Navarro, Trump's special counselor for trade and manufacturing, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in the reunion seating chart graphic. The suggestion that Cohen should 'host' a 'reunion' was seemingly started by Pennsylvania U.S. Representative Malcolm Kenyatta, who tweeted it hours before Cohen. 'Petition to have @Andy host the Trump-Musk White House Housewives Reunion. America deserves all the tea. Also kill the bill,' the Pennsylvania U.S. Rep said. Given Trump's roots in reality TV, a reunion might not be as far-fetched as one may think, though still incredibly unlikely. — Jared Moskowitz (@JaredEMoskowitz) June 5, 2025 The suggestion that Cohen should 'host' a 'reunion' was seemingly started by Pennsylvania U.S. Representative Malcolm Kenyatta, who tweeted it hours before Cohen. The feud erupted online earlier on Thursday, when Trump mentioned Musk in a press conference, saying he was, 'very disappointed' in Musk. He then posted on Truth Social, 'The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts.' Musk quickly responded on X, claiming, 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election. Such ingratitude,' seemingly referring to his campaign contributions totally nearly $300 million. Musk also claimed that Trump, 'is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.'

EastEnders 'confirms' Walford's newest romance - and fans are obsessed

EastEnders seemingly confirmed a new romance for two of Walford's residents in tonight's episode, and fans are overjoyed that the pair may be getting more screentime Love was in the air in EastEnders tonight, as Kat and Alfie celebrated their joint hen and stag party in The Albert - under Cindy Beale 's ownership. However, Kat and Alfie weren't the only pair fans had their eyes on. Competing with Cindy's opening night, Elaine Peacock hosted a karaoke night in the pub. Despite the night going down like a lead balloon, two unlikely residents were seen enjoying themselves - together. ‌ Taking to the mic, a slightly tipsy Shrimpy (Ben Champniss) was seen serenading Marie Evans (Liz Sweet) as he pointed at her while singing the 1989 ballad Have I Told You Lately. "Have I told you lately that I love you? Have I told you there's no one else above you?" he could be heard singing as café worker Marie was seen looking smitten. ‌ Elaine on the other hand was less than impressed. "This is our karaoke night - we should be heaving!" she told Linda Carter, but Linda was more concerned about what was going on between the love birds. "What Marie does in her own time is her business. But I'm concerned about the lack of OUR business!" exclaimed Elaine. Fans haven't seen much of Shrimpy and Marie, who act as side characters in the soap, but new scenes have fans hopeful we'll see more of their relationship unfold. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: "I'm obsessed with Marie from the caff and Shrimpy from the markets new relationship #eastenders, while another exclaimed: "SHRIMPY GOT A GIRLFRIEND AND HER NAME IS MARIE!" ‌ "Shrimpy and Marie from the cafe? What's going there? #eastenders," questioned one, as another penned: "MARIE AND SHRIMPY CONFIRMED???" Shrimpy joined the soap in 2014 as a stall-holder who sells hats and men's clothing on the market. Marie has been a key worker at the café since 2000. Although the pair are staple residents of the Square, their personal lives aren't shown to viewers. But could the budding romance change this? ‌ Elsewhere, Kat and Alfie started the celebrations for their big day. However, things came crashing down for Kat when she opened the family laptop to an adult site - believing it was Alfie's doing. However, unbeknownst to her, teen Joel Marshall had told her son Tommy to use Alfie's credit card to access content. Will this affect the wedding?
