AFL WAG Tayla Broad announces heartbreaking family news: 'Our first baby'
The grieving wife of Richmond star Nathan Broad took to Instagram Stories on Thursday to share a poignant black-and-white photo of the family giving Charlie his final pats, accompanied by a touching tribute to her furry companion.
'Our sweet Charlie boy. Sammy's Cha Cha. Our first baby,' Tayla, 28, wrote, confirming the sad loss to her 452,000 followers.
'To know you is to love you. Rest easy king. Enjoy the never ending sunshine up there.'
Charlie was a beloved member of the Broad family and often featured in the couple's social media posts.

The cause of the dog's passing was not disclosed.
The French bulldog rose to national prominence in September 2023, when former Love Island star Tayla accused Qantas of 'animal abuse' after he went missing for hours when he was supposed to be on a plane to Perth.
'Qantas, you have a lot of explaining to do,' the model and former reality TV star ranted on Instagram.
Charlie was supposed to depart on a flight from Melbourne to Western Australia, but after the airline's IT freight system was thrown into chaos, was left behind.
Qantas confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that a system upgrade to its freight handling system in late September led to an outage that caused significant delays for customers.
With the IT system down, workers were forced to process shipments manually, causing backlogs in deliveries at some of the nation's largest airports.
Nathan and the AFL WAG saw their beloved pet caught up in the delays, claiming that Charlie was left in a crate for up to 14 hours without food when they sent him from Melbourne to Perth.
They claimed Qantas didn't notify them of any changes after the dog wasn't put on a flight, and a family member waited for hours at Perth airport only to be told he hadn't arrived.

'No one is able to tell us where Charlie is. Just that he didn't get put on his morning flight,' Tayla wrote on social media.
'We are unsure if he is currently in the air or still stuck inside a crate at the airport.
'We should have been informed and given the opportunity to collect our little man hours ago – if he even is in Melbourne that is.
'He is so rattled. Couldn't get up our stairs due to exhaustion, so dehydrated, drooling and all out of sorts.
'This is disgusting and animal abuse.'
Nathan said Qantas' 'excuse' was that its system was down.
'You belong in a crate you useless airline!' he wrote on Instagram.
The airline issued a statement in the wake of the incident apologising to the couple.
'Our team regularly checked the pet was OK, refilled their water and made sure the crate was clean. The crate was kept under cover in our freight terminal while waiting,' a spokesperson said.
The delays also meant unrefrigerated produce and pharmaceuticals were ruined, with the Sydney Morning Herald reporting that corpses were left in coffins on the tarmac.
Qantas has denied that coffins were left at airports, with urgent medical supplies and human remains prioritised to avoid delays.
The airline said the IT issue had been fixed and domestic backlogs cleared.
Tayla (née Damir) and three-time AFL premiership star Nathan, 32, tied the knot in the Gold Coast hinterland in October 2022 after a whirlwind three-year romance.
The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Sammy, in August 2023.

Chris Hemsworth's Centr app shuts down Melbourne HQ and sacks 15 staff after $100m sale to Jeff Bezos's brother
Chris Hemsworth's wellness empire is slimming down after his fitness app Centr has officially closed its Melbourne headquarters, as the company shifts the bulk of its operations to the United States. The move comes just over a year after the actor, 42, sold the app for a reported $100m to HighPost Capital, a private equity firm co-founded by Mark Bezos - the brother of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos. A spokesperson for Centr confirmed that the Melbourne office will no longer operate, and only a few Australian employees will remain on board in remote roles. The spokesperson said: 'As Centr continues to scale globally, we've made the strategic decision to consolidate operations in the US to improve operational and geographic efficiency.' 'This transition affects 15 roles, with a few team members continuing remotely as part of the US–based team. Centr remains focused on continued growth across its digital platform, performance–grade equipment, and global partnerships.' Nick Robinson, Centr's digital general manager, added that the company planned to 'continue to drive towards business goals' through 'streamlining operations' and hiring top talent in the US. It's the second wave of job cuts to hit the Australian team in just over a year, after a previous round of layoffs saw around 20 roles slashed. Until recently, the Melbourne office served as Centr's hub for content creation, customer service, and sales and marketing for Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Daily Mail understands all 23 remaining staff in the Melbourne office were summoned to a meeting and informed it would be their final day with the company. One senior creative, who is currently five months pregnant, took to LinkedIn and claimed she was given no warning before being told her role was being terminated immediately. The brutal timing of the layoffs also raised eyebrows given Chris has been spotted vacationing in Spain with wife Elsa Pataky and their children in recent weeks. It comes just a month after former Centr CEO Zsofi Paterson departed the company and announced she had taken up a new role with children's photo–sharing startup Tinybeans. Chris launched Centr in 2019, leveraging his global fame and shredded physique to attract subscribers to the platform, which offers high-intensity workouts, meal plans, meditation routines, and wellness tips. The app charges $119 annually or $20 per month and still prominently features Chris in marketing campaigns, despite his reduced involvement in the day-to-day running of the business. When it was acquired by HighPost Capital, owned by David Moross and Mark Bezos, the company moved its headquarters to Los Angeles but kept a team in Melbourne. In April 2022, Chris told his 54 million social media followers that he was 'thrilled' Centr had been acquired by Mark Bezos. At the time of the sale, a Centr representative said Chris would keep an active role in the company and that he was still a major shareholder. The company's website retains the actor's image as founder and carries his endorsement. It reads: 'As one of Hollywood's leading men, Chris is known for diverse roles that require serious physical transformations.' 'He attributes much of his success to his team of world-class experts in fitness, nutrition and wellness. With Centr, his team is now your team.'

Is this The Block's worst bathroom reno ever? Judge brands disaster transformation an 'upmarket abattoir' in savage takedown
The Block's bathroom week came to a jaw-dropping end on Sunday night - and for one couple, it was an absolute bloodbath. Britt and Taz Etto, a married pair of cops from House 3, were left humiliated during Room Reveals when their bathroom was savaged by the judges. In a brutal spray, Marty Fox compared it to an 'upmarket abattoir' and referenced American Psycho. The couple had endured a chaotic week riddled with construction disasters, tile mishaps and last-minute panics. But nothing could prepare them for what was to come. Upon stepping into the finished space, real estate expert Marty didn't mince words. 'This looks like something out of American Psycho,' he said, stunned by the stark and clinical design choices. 'It's an upmarket abattoir.' The savage critique stunned viewers and left Britt and Taz visibly shaken. Their attempt at a modern, luxe aesthetic backfired spectacularly, with the judges describing the space as cold, uninviting and unsettling. Things had already gone off the rails early in the week for the House 3 couple. Their stone vanity arrived without pre-drilled holes for the tapware, sending Taz scrambling for help. Enter the Cursio brothers from next door. Adrian Cursio, not technically assigned to their house, offered to drill the 40mm stone - but not before shouting, 'This is at your own risk, no responsibility is taken just for the record!' Remarkably, the risky manoeuvre paid off. But then came another disaster - timber was missing from their shower screen frame, forcing the couple to rip into the freshly plastered wall to reinforce it before installing their curved glass door. Despite the producers repeatedly playing footage of shattered shower screens from previous seasons, Britt and Taz managed to install their custom fluted glass without a hitch Despite the producers repeatedly playing footage of shattered shower screens from previous seasons, Britt and Taz managed to install their custom fluted glass without a hitch. Meanwhile, House 1's Emma and Ben took a bold swing with a maroon-hued bathroom that was immediately embraced by the judges. 'This is bold but not tacky. It's rich,' Darren Palmer said, calling the look 'mid-century western'. Marty praised the design as 'sophisticated and interesting', while Shaynna Blaze gave the space a mostly positive review - only criticising the bathrobes hung on the back of the door. 'They have nailed the look and the brief of high-end Daylesford. This is stunning,' Marty added. Over in House 2, Han and Can - assisted by Tommy for the week - stunned the judges with their daring orange resin bath and luxurious layout. 'Holy f**k,' Marty exclaimed upon entry. 'It's a punch in the face with a velvet glove,' Darren joked, loving the details and planning throughout the space. While Shaynna questioned the colour of the wall panelling and towel placement, the judges were otherwise blown away. 'You needed to find your direction, and in this room, you have,' she said.

Bailey Smith gets back to work with Geelong Cats following hot weekend hookup with Tammy Hembrow - after blowing up at onlookers during training
Bailey Smith was back to doing what he does best on Sunday. The 24-year-old lit up the field with a dominant performance as the Geelong Cats faced off against the Sydney Swans at the SCG. The AFL star was in top form during the Round 23 clash, racking up 30 disposals and five clearances, helping steer the Cats to a strong showing in a high-stakes game. Bailey was fired up throughout the match, with his signature long blond locks flowing beneath a white headband as he barked instructions to teammates. Dressed in Geelong's classic navy and white striped guernsey, the midfielder looked every bit the elite athlete, his powerful frame on full display as he charged across the turf with intensity and flair. Smith was seen gripping the yellow football as he powered down the sideline, eyes fixed forward in a determined sprint. But it wasn't just his on-field heroics that had tongues wagging over the weekend. Bailey has found himself at the centre of a media frenzy following reports of a blossoming romance with fitness influencer and mother-of-three Tammy Hembrow. The pair were spotted enjoying their second beach date on Friday, this time taking a romantic stroll down Nobby's Beach on the Gold Coast. In footage shared by Instagram gossip page Influencer Updates AU, Smith was seen with his arm draped around Tammy's waist as they sipped coffee and wandered along the sand. The duo reportedly arrived together in Tammy's car and later left with Bailey behind the wheel. Tammy later posted a snap from the beach to her Instagram Stories, wearing the same grey tank and denim shorts seen in the paparazzi video. Meanwhile, Bailey had been seen earlier that day in Melbourne sporting the same black tracksuit he wore during the date. It's understood the visit was brief, with the footy player returning to Melbourne before flying to Sydney for Sunday's match. Daily Mail exclusively revealed Bailey and Tammy were seen together on a date on the Gold Coast, kissing and sharing lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Their budding relationship comes just two months after Tammy's split from ex-husband Matt Zukowski, and it's already stirred up major controversy online. Smith hasn't been weathering the storm of attention around his new romance with Hembrow. The AFL star was furious with onlookers on Thursday as he got back to work, taking part in a training session with the Geelong Cats in Victoria. Media and photographers showed up to see the playboy footballer return to the field after his weekend fling with Tammy - only for Smith to direct a string of expletives in their direction. Smith covered his face as he walked off the pitch following his spray, the Herald Sun reported on Thursday. It appears the young athlete is unimpressed by the intense interest in his latest love match, and had likewise unleashed on photographers who spotted him at Melbourne Airport after his hookup with Tammy last weekend.
