Love Island star 'threatens to quit show after reaching emotional breaking point'
Love Island beauty Shakira Khan has reportedly threatened to quit the ITV2 dating programme in footage that's yet to be aired. The 22 year old hasn't exactly had a smooth ride in the villa so far, with the reality star finding it tough with ex Harry Cooksley being in the villa.
Earlier this week, viewers expressed their worry for Shakira after she looked "exhausted", having admitted to pal Toni Laites that lingering emotions remained with Harry despite being partnered with Conor Phillips.
She later called time on her relationship with Conor, explaining to him that she couldn't provide him with "what he needs." Reports now suggest that Shakira considered abandoning the programme due to the drama surrounding Harry, the Mirror reports.
Speaking to The Sun, a source stated: "Shakira has been through the wringer and was already at breaking point over her heartbreak by Harry."
"When Harry made it exclusive with Helena, everything unravelled and she realised she wasn't ready to be with Conor properly. She did the brave thing by ending that, but then the floodgates opened and she just didn't want to be in the villa anymore."
They continued, explaining that Shakira visited the Beach Hut and asked to leave the villa, with the welfare team supporting her "through her emotions." Afterwards, she decided to stay.
Despite Shakira's turbulent journey in the villa so far, countless fans have taken to social media to praise how "mature" she's been throughout her love triangle chaos. "Shakira is the most respect, self aware, mature person in love island history, never mind the fact that she's only 22 #loveisland #loveislanduk," one fan stated.
Another posted: "Shakira is so real that she's willing to leave the villa without a man or winning instead of faking it with Conor till the end, if anything we can be proud of her for staying true herself but damn Harry?!? #LoveIslanduk #LoveIsland."
Earlier this week, Harry decided to take his relationship with Helena to the next stage, becoming exclusive with his fellow Islander. This was despite Harry offering a shoulder for Shakira to cry on after she decided to end things with Conor.
Tonight's episode will see Shakira confiding in Harry about her emotions, with Harry responding: "I can read between the lines a little bit, but I don't really know exactly what you're thinking."
Shakira then reveals that she still felt "very strongly" towards him and was unsure on how to deal with the situation.
"I just don't think that I really dealt with the situation how I should have dealt with it and maybe haven't processed things properly, and you and Helena being exclusive may have resurfaced things," she confessed.
Harry further tells Shakira that although it appears he has moved on, their relationship wasn't "one sided." He adds: "You'll probably disagree, but I felt it and like I say I haven't processed it and have tried to just get on with things."
He then has a conversation with Helena about his chat with Shakira, with Helena posing the question: "Does that change anything for you?"
ITV has several duty of care protocols in place, with Islanders undergoing training prior to entering the villa concerning language, behaviour and understanding mutual respect in relationships.

Moment Donald Trump ‘throws shade' at Meghan and Prince Harry during tense press conference with Keir Starmer
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRESIDENT Donald Trump has been accused by royal watchers of taking a swipe at Harry and Meghan during his press conference with the Prime Minister. Trump spoke about his love of the royal family before making a remark about "not great people" outside the UK. Prime Minister Keir Starmer remained quiet during the exchange unlike when Trump slammed London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Trump said: "Being with Charles, Camilla and everybody, I've got to know a lot of the family members. "They are great people. They are really great people." He went on to seemingly have a dig at Harry and Meghan and their decision to emigrate, saying: "And in that sense I think the UK is very lucky, you could have people that weren't great people. "I don't know if I can say that, but you could have people that weren't." Royal fans immediately noticed the apparent meaning behind the president's words. They took to social media in a flurry with one user saying: "I love the shade President Trump throws at Prince Harry & Meghan Markle." Another wrote they were sure that Trump was "calling them out." It comes after the Duke of Sussex took an apparent swipe at the president in February. Trump had called Harry's wife "terrible" and the duke responded by subtly referencing Trump in a speech given to 40,000 people. Awkward moment Trump blasts 'nasty' Sadiq Khan for 'terrible job'… before Starmer interrupts: 'He's a friend of mine!' At the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in Canada Harry took the opportunity to mention "weak moral character in the world" a comment viewed as a jibe aimed at president Trump. It followed Mr Trump ignoring calls for Harry's deportation amid controversy over his visa and his historical drug use. Trump has previously claimed that he is "not a fan" of Meghan, claiming that "Harry is whipped" and "is being led around by his nose." Harry and Meghan have also reportedly donated $500,000 to Democrat rivals of Trump through the Archewell Foundation. 5 The Duke of Sussex is believed to have had a dig at the president during a speech at the launch of the Invictus Games in Canada Credit: Getty 5 Royal fans accused the president of 'throwing shade' at Harry and Meghan Credit: Getty Trump's comments yesterday came after he told the Prime Minister to cut taxes and stop the boats if he wants to beat Farage. The president also slammed London Mayor Sadiq Khan calling him a "nasty person." During the joint press conference Trump took aim at the Mayor of London saying: "I'm not a fan of your Mayor. "I think he's done a terrible job, the Mayor of London. "He's a nasty person." After hearing Trump's barbed comments about Sadiq, Sir Keir Starmer stuck up for the Labour mayor. After an embarrassed laugh filled the room Starmer responded to Trump, defending Sadiq Khan as his "friend" and attempting to defuse the situation.

Line of Duty set for 2026 return as Adrian Dunbar updates
The award-winning hit police drama, which first aired from 2012 to 2021, featured Dunbar as Ted Hastings alongside stars Vicky McClure and Martin Compston. Rumours believed that the sixth series would be the last for Line of Duty, but Dunbar has given fans a hopeful update on a new series that could see it return by 2026. Line of Duty 'returning next year' In an interview with The Times, Dunbar said that he is ready to return to filming and hopes the BBC will make an official announcement soon. He shared: "We're really excited about getting our hands on a Line of Duty script, to see what happens to us. Jed [Mercurio] is writing. We've talked to the BBC. "It is down to the BBC to make an announcement, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that next year we'll be working on a new series. "No doubt Jed will think of some interesting twists and turns." The final of the sixth series of Line of Duty was highly anticipated as audiences all awaited the reveal of the corrupt officer known as 'H'. The reveal saw DCI Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) to be 'H' and that he became corrupt for the money. Fans were split by the ending of Line of Duty, as Dunbar admits that he knows it was a "frustrating" end. He shared: "When you find out it is this idiot, Buckells, it is so frustrating. "There is a scene where the three of us are told who it is, and we look at each other and go, 'What?' "We asked Jed to write that scene because we realised how our audience would feel." "But Jed's point was that police corruption can hang on one cop deciding to ignore one piece of information that comes across his desk." According to The Sun, the next series of Line of Duty is expected to start filming next year. Recommended Reading As a source told the publication: "This is the news Line of Duty fans have been waiting for since the sixth season left them deflated when it aired back in 2021. "The BBC almost immediately requested more episodes to continue the story, but the success of the show meant Vicky, Martin and Adrian were instantly snapped up for other projects." "But after several meetings with Jed and the production team, they've finally managed to clear space in their calendars next year to commit to making the show."
