Sixers schedule: NBA Cup group play begins vs. Celtics at home
The Sixers will face the Boston Celtics on Halloween night on Amazon Prime at 7 p.m. ET to begin the NBA Cup before they travel to Detroit to face the Pistons on Nov. 14. They will then host the Orlando Magic on Nov. 25 and then pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 28.
The Sixers have failed to get out of group play in the Cup for the first two years of this in-season tournament, but if they're healthy, this will be a great chance for them. The Celtics are not the same dominant group while the Nets are focused on rebuilding. The Pistons and Magic will be tough, but the Sixers will have a great chance to advance.

Boston Celtics sign Ron Harper Jr. to training camp deal
As we edge closer to the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, teams are starting to prepare for training camp and preseason. This is the point in the summer when players begin to sign Exhibit 10 contracts, in the hopes of either earning a spot on a roster or being given a chance in the G League. Ron Harper Jr. is the Boston Celtics' first Exhibit 10 addition this summer. Harper Jr. will be entering his fourth NBA season, having originally signed with the Toronto Raptors as a rookie. He also spent some time with the Maine Celtics this past season, and will now get an opportunity to make an impression on Joe Mazzulla and his coaching staff throughout the summer. In total, Harper Jr. made 27 G League appearances this past season, split between the Motor City Cruise and Maine Celtics, where he averaged 18.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists, shooting 39% from deep on 8.9 attempts per outing. As the Celtics already have their two-way spots filled courtesy of Amari Williams, Max Shulga and RJ Luis, Harper Jr. will either make the main roster as the 15th and final member of the roster, or join the Maine Celtics in the hope of triggering a bonus should he stay with the team for 60 days. Of course, right now, his only focus will be on making a strong impression and working to improve his game. The crickets around any Karl-Anthony Towns-Knicks extension talks shouldn't be surprising
An All-NBA selection is up for an extension that nobody is talking about it. The lack of attention to Karl-Anthony Towns' situation is understandable after crunching the numbers, but I still find it noteworthy — and at least worthy of exploration — that the Knicks center has until Oct. 20 to add two years to his contract. After all, he just averaged 24.4 points and 12.8 rebounds while shooting 42 percent on 3-pointers. He and Nikola Jokic were the only players with those types of numbers last season. Offensively, it was the best campaign for a Knicks center since Patrick Ewing's prime. Adding two more years to Towns' deal would further align New York's starting lineup contractually. The Knicks just gave a near max extension to a zero-time All-Star in Mikal Bridges. Towns has a handful of All-Star selections, including a fifth last season. Yet, crickets.

Caitlin Clark can dunk on LeBron James in NBA 2K26
NBA 2K has Caitlin Clark DUNKING on LeBron James 🤣 Some sports moments can only happen in video games, like Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark dunking on superstar Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James. While that's an improbable scenario in real life despite how amazing Clark is at basketball, NBA 2K26 allows for gamers to pit the two hoops legends against each other to the point where Clark can actually dunk on James. A viral clip from the upcoming NBA/WNBA video game shows Clark dunking on James and even taunting him after the fact. Again, this can only happen in a video game, but what a glorious example of why video games are so fun. Watch this as many times as you'd like! Whenever you play with the Fever against the Lakers, make sure to recreate this hysterical clip. When does NBA 2K26 come out? The game will be released on Friday, Sept. 5.
