Greg Olsen expresses excitement for upcoming Olympic flag football
Former TE Greg Olsen is excited for some NFL players to showcase their skills in the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics and the debut of flag football.
Sports Seriously
Ladies and gentlemen, Shemar Stewart has left the building.
The Cincinnati Bengals' first-round pick left mandatory minicamp Thursday as his contract dispute with the Bengals continues, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer, part of the USA TODAY Network, the Bengals are attempting to change the language in new rookie contracts to "allow the team to void future guarantees." Conway reported that Stewart's camp is asking for his contract language to look the same as it did for defensive end Myles Murphy and right tackle Amarius Mims, the team's previous two first-round picks.
SHEMAR STEWART CONTRACT DISPUTE: Why Bengals' first-round pick is holding out
It has been a month and a half since Cincinnati drafted Stewart, an edge rusher out of Texas A&M, with the 17th overall pick. Stewart has yet to participate in any practices – through rookie minicamp, OTAs and now mandatory minicamp – as the two sides have stalled in contract negotiations. Despite not practicing, the former Aggie had been in attendance at the team's offseason training programs prior to Thursday's departure from minicamp.
Stewart is not the only disgruntled edge rusher holding out from Bengals offseason workouts.
NFL MINICAMP STORYLINES: Rookies, QB competitions, what to watch for
Trey Hendrickson, the defensive end who led the NFL last year with 17.5 sacks and finished as the Defensive Player of the Year runner-up, has also been sitting out of Cincinnati's minicamp.
Hendrickson is set to become a free agent after the 2025 season. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that he and the Bengals have made "no progress" on a multiyear contract, and the defensive end has not reported for any of minicamp.

Reinvented Olympic balloon makes Paris comeback
The 2024 Summer Olympics might be over, but French authorities are hoping Parisians and tourists can "relive" last year's magic when the iconic symbol of the Games returns next week. During the Paris Games, the Olympic cauldron tethered to a balloon flew into the Parisian sky at sunset every day, with thousands flocking to see the seven-metre (23 feet) wide ring of environmentally friendly fire. On Thursday evening, President Emmanuel Macron and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo visited the Tuileries Garden near the Louvre, where workers were installing the redesigned balloon and ring. "We are going to relive this!" a beaming Macron said in a video posted on X. The balloon, which will no longer carry the Olympic branding, will take to the skies on June 21 during France's annual Fete de la Musique festival of street music. It will be accessible to visitors every summer evening from June 21 to September 14 for the next three years, until the next edition of the Games in Los Angeles in 2028. Its flame made up of clouds of mist lit by LED rays will remain the same. The flame is still "100 percent electric", according to Pierre Viriot, communications director at state-owned power utility EDF. But unlike last year, it will be turned off at night. The reconstruction of the balloon and the ring has been financed by the Olympic Organising Committee and EDF. kol-yb-mct/as/djt

Mya Lesnar proved she's Brock Lesnar's kid with a second NCAA title
Before going on to UFC and WWE gold, Brock Lesnar was a one-time NCAA Division I champion. Now daughter Mya has him beat. Brock Lesnar's combat sports career began as a decorated college wrestler. He won a National Junior College championship at 275 pounds while at Bismarck State College. From there, he transferred up to the University of Minnesota, capturing the Division I heavyweight title in 2000 after a runner-up performance (to future New England Patriots guard Stephen Neal) in 1999. Advertisement Mya Lesnar didn't follow in her father's footsteps despite a burgeoning women's wrestling scene at the college level. Instead, she used her family's farmhand strength to carve a championship path in track and field -- specifically, the shot put. After beginning her college career at Arizona State, she transferred to Colorado State in 2022. That move helped unlock her potential. She won a national indoor championship earlier this year, then doubled up in the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday. Lesnar's first throw was enough to carry her past a loaded field and to the top of the podium in Eugene, Oregon. Impressively, that 19.01 meter toss wasn't close to her personal best. She threw 19.60 meters at the last home dual meet of her college career -- a mark that would have won bronze at the 2024 Summer Olympics. While Lesnar ends her college career as a champion, it's clear she has the ability to compete at the highest level of the sport. Whether she chooses to stick with throwing or make dabbling in multiple sports a family tradition is yet to be seen.
