Travis Kelce: Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl" Is a Lot More Upbeat, a Lot More Fun Pop Excitement
Yara Sameh Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl" has been the most-anticipated album of 2025, and based on details she shared Wednesday on a special episode of "New Heights" with Travis and Jason Kelce, her 12th album could be her most pop-leaning record in years. 'I've been fortunate enough to hear every single song on here, so I know they're all 12 bangers,' her partner, Travis Kelce, said of the album, which Swift revealed would be released on October 3. 'It's a lot more upbeat and it's a lot more like, fun pop excitement. I think it's a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on Tortured Poets for sure.' 'Life is more upbeat,' Swift added. 'I have different goals with different albums. Tortured Poets Department, my goals were strictly lyrical. It was really a full catharsis, and I love to embrace the mess of writing from that perspective, of the rawness of that. I was feeling a complete pivot at this point in time, and I want the album to feel the way my life felt. And this completely matches the way my life has felt.' Regarding the goals of "The Life of a Showgirl," Swift noted she was going for 'melodies that were so infectious that you're almost angry at it, and lyrics that are just as vivid, but crisp and focused and completely intentional.' 'It's the life behind it all, it's the life beyond the show,' she added. Further boosting that pop sound is that Swift tapped legendary hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback to make the record with her. The Swedish producers worked with Swift on some of her biggest songs like 'Blank Space,' '22,' 'Shake It Off' and 'I Knew You Were Trouble,' among others. Martin is regarded as perhaps the biggest pop songwriter of all time, with credits on chart-topping classics like Britney Spears' '…Baby One More Time,' NSYNC's 'It's Gonna Be Me' and Katy Perry's 'I Kissed a Girl,' among many others. Among his more recent smashes are The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights,' Coldplay and BTS's 'My Universe' and Ariana Grande's 'Yes, And?' Before "The Life of a Showgirl," Swift, Shellback and Martin had last worked together on a new album back in 2017 for Reputation. 'Shellback and I were both in our early twenties when we started working together, the three of us. And so it was very much like we were the ingenues and Max was the mentor,' she said. 'And this was the time where it felt like all three of us in the room were carrying the same weight as creators. It was really special. It meant the world to me to have this creative experience where we knew we had to bring the best ideas we've ever had. I also know the pressure I'm putting on this record by saying that, but I don't care because I love it that much.' During the podcast, Swift also revealed the track list for the album, confirming a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter. Beyond the new music, Swift had a revealing two-hour conversation on New Heights, recounting the early days of dating Kelce and the emotional process of gaining ownership of her masters earlier this year. 'I was bawling my eyes out, I'm just like weeping like, 'Really? What do you mean? This changed my life, I can't believe it still,' Swift noted, remembering when she got the call from her mother confirming the deal. Regarding the early days with Kelce, the 14-time Grammy winner said, 'This felt more like I was in an '80s John Hughes movie and he was just like, standing outside of my window with a boombox.' She noted, 'I was like, 'If this guy isn't crazy, this is sort of what I've been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.'' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

Taylor Swift Recounts Sending Her Mom and Brother to Negotiate for Her Master Recordings: ‘Since I Was a Teenager, I've Been Actively Saving Up Money to Buy My Music Back'
Yara Sameh Taylor Swift detailed sending a powerhouse crew to negotiate the purchase of her master recordings: Her mom and brother. During her Wednesday appearance on the ' New Heights ' podcast, Swift recalled how she reclaimed the master recordings of her first six albums from Shamrock Capitol. She explained the purchase was a long time coming, adding, 'Since I was a teenager, I've been actively saving up money to buy my music back.' Throughout the 2020s, Swift re-recorded the albums she lost the rights to, and thought it was the 'closest I would get to owning my music.' However, after the success of her 'Eras Tour,' she and her team decided it was the perfect time to get back full ownership of her masters. Swift said the reasons she wanted to buy back her music were "deeply personal". 'For me, this is not, 'Oh, I want to own this asset because of its returns, because of the dividends that I will receive over the years,'' Swift explained. 'I want it because these [are] my handwritten diary entries from my whole life. These are the songs I wrote about every phase of my life. This is my photography, my music videos, most of which I funded. My artwork, everything that I've ever done, is in this catalog.' Rather than send 'lawyers or management' to the negotiations, Swift sent her 'mom and brother,' who've been her business partners throughout her career. The pop star said the advantage of sending her family was that they were able to convey 'all the times we've tried to buy [the masters], all the times it's fallen through, all the times we had gotten plans together and figured out something we thought was gonna work and it didn't at the last minute.' After a couple of months of waiting, Swift's mom delivered the good news. 'My mom calls me afterwards and she like, 'Look, you know, they were wonderful, they heard us out, we have no idea which way they're gonna go with this,'' Swift noted. 'And so I was like, I get it, I get it. I haven't gotten my hopes up about this in a decade. It was a couple of months after the Super Bowl, we're in Kansas City and I get a call from my mom, and she's like, 'You got your music.'' Swift albums and associated visuals were purchased in May for an undisclosed nine-figure sum. At the time, she announced the projects would all be released. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

Taylor Swift: There Will Be No Bonus Songs on "Life of a Showgirl"
Yara Sameh Taylor Swift has revealed her upcoming 12th studio album 'The Life of a Showgirl,' which was recorded during days off on her Eras Tour, won't contain any bonus tracks. The pop star appeared on Travis and Jason Kelce's podcast 'New Heights' on Wednesday, discussing various facets of the album — including reuniting with Max Martin and Shellback and why she chose the title — shortly after revealing its cover art and tracklist on social media. Much to the dismay of some Swifties, she explained that the record's 12 tracks will be all that fans are getting from this era. 'With 'Tortured Poets Department,' I was like here's a data dump of everything I thought, felt, experienced in two or three years. Here's 31 songs. This is 12,' she said. 'There's not a thirteenth, there's not other ones coming. This is the record I've been wanting to make for a very long time. I also wanted it to be every single song is on this album for hundreds of reasons, and you couldn't take one out and it be the same album, you couldn't add one and be… It's just right,". 'That focus and that kind of discipline with creating an album and keeping the bar really high is something I've been wanting to do for a very long time,' Swift added. 'I tend to write lots and lots of music, so it's a temptation to release lots of music. But oftentimes, I wanted to do an album that was so focused on quality and on the theme and everything fitting together like a perfect puzzle that these 12 songs for my 12th album, I feel like we achieved that and I'm really happy about that.' The singer got into the details of how she managed to find time to record the album, stating that she would jet to Sweden during off days on the Eras Tour to work with Martin and Shellback. 'It was something that I was working on while I was in Europe on the Eras Tour,' she said. 'I would be playing shows, I'd do three shows in a row, I'd have three days off, I fly to Sweden, go back to the tour and actually working on this, I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.' As for why she chose the title 'The Life of a Showgirl?' Travis Kelce said that she was 'living the life of a showgirl' by jet-setting across Europe, to which she responded, 'I was, that's why I called it that! Nailed it.' 'The Life of a Showgirl' sees her reuniting with Martin and Shellback, who worked on hits including 'Bad Blood' and 'Shake It Off.' When she announced the album early Tuesday morning, Spotify ran billboards with a code that led to a playlist of songs that Swift had worked on with the pair, suggesting they were reuniting for the album. Swift confirmed that when she announced the tracklist and revealed the cover art on Wednesday afternoon, explaining why she linked back up with them. 'The three of us have made some of my favorite songs that I've ever done before,' she said. 'We've never actually made an album before where it's just the three of us. There are no other collaborators, it's just the three of us making a focused album where it felt like catching lightning in a bottle.'
