'Love Island: All Stars'' Olivia Says She and Marcel Have 'Mutually' Decided to 'Stay Friends': 'We Speak Every Day' (Exclusive)
Olivia Hawkins is setting the record straight on her relationship status following her exit from the Love Island: All Stars villa.
The 29-year-old was dumped from the South African villa on Jan. 22, as she and Marcel Somerville were voted the least compatible couple by the public. In the days since leaving together, Olivia tells PEOPLE she and Marcel, 39, have "decided to mutually agree to stay friends."
"We did really get on in the villa," she says, but they simply "didn't have enough time together in there before we got thrown out into the limelight."

They're still in touch, though, as she says "it'd be a shame to not keep in contact." She adds: "We still speak every day, but I think we've just agreed that it's more of a friendship."
Olivia, a season 9 alum, and Marcel, who was on season 3, were only in the villa for nine days before they were dumped, and they didn't start their journey together. Olivia was coupled up with Luca (season 8) and Marcel was reunited with his ex Gabby (season 3) on day one, as a result of a public vote, and they didn't start exploring their connection until a few days into the season.
"I feel like potentially we could have developed something being in there," she says of here connection with the Blazin' Squad alum.
"It's just harder coming out after having so little time because then you have people's opinions and our lives become so busy. It's trying to find time to see each other. But yeah, I guess we'll never know."

Olivia admits she was surprised when she and Marcel were voted least compatible out of the villa — and against Nas (season 6) and Catherine (season 10) and Elma (season 5) and Ronnie (season 11) — considering she thinks that, "at that point in time in the villa, if anyone had voted for the top two most compatible couples, it would've been me and Marcel and Ekin-Su and Curtis."
"So that's why the Islanders were all so shocked [by our dumping]," she says. "It was a shame, but I feel like all the chaos and the drama happened as soon as we left, so I'm kind of glad I avoided that this time."
Deciding to go back into the villa in the first place was an "easy decision," she says. "The timing was right for me. I was in talks to do it the previous year and I'd only been out of the villa for a year, so it was too fresh for me. And I was also supposed to do [Love Island] Games [last year], but for me, it was just a lot in the space of the year. I needed that time out."
As she transitions back into normal life, Olivia still feels like there's a camera following her at times and forgets she can "speak freely."
"I've just been trying to kind of get back into a routine, which is hard when you come back because obviously you're just flung out back into the public [eye]."
She's also been catching up on the season. "Since we've left, it's gone wild," she says of how the season is developing. "It's so strange. I can't even imagine myself in there right now. I've detached myself. I look at them as characters again — it's very bizarre."

‘Love Island' UK vs USA: The Biggest Differences Between the Shows
The reality TV gods have truly blessed us, as right now, not one, but two series of Love Island are currently airing, and honestly what a summer we have ahead of us. Earlier this week the 12th series of Love Island UK landed on ITV2 and last week Love Island USA began its seventh season on Peacock. Much of the show remains the same on both sides of the pond—a group of eligible singles are on the lookout for love spending eight weeks in a villa, where they have a summer of cracking on, "got a text" and deep meaningful chats around the firepit. However, there are some pretty major noticeable differences between both iconic shows. Curious to know more? These are the biggest difference's between Love Island UK and Love Island USA. UK Love Island UK is of course hosted by the icon that is Maya Jama. The TV presenter has been working on the show since series nine in 2023, after taking over from Laura Whitmore. She also hosts the show's spin-off Sunday night episode Aftersun. USA Meanwhile in the USA, former Vanderpump Rules cast member Ariana Madix presents the show. Ariana joined last season, following former host Sarah Hyland's exit from the show. While the hosts may be different, Iain Stirling does in fact do the voiceovers for both series. UK Since the show's inception 10 years ago with series one in 2015, Love Island has always been filmed on the Spanish island of Mallorca. In the first few series it was shot in Santanyi, however since 2017 it's been filmed in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. The winter version of the series takes place in South Africa. USA Love Island USA has filmed in a variety of locations since it began. When the show was out on CBS the first season was filmed in Fiji, however it was moved to Las Vegas for season two due to the pandemic. The third season then took place in Hawaii. The show was then moved to be shown on Peacock and as part of this for the show's first season on the new network the series was filmed in California. And for the last three seasons, including the one currently airing, Love Island USA is filmed in Fiji. UK This season Love Island returns to its Mallorcan Villa, which is traditionally available as a holiday let, but is taken over by ITV every summer to create the legendary villa. In the villa there's one bedroom and one bathroom for all the Islanders. As well as the hideaway, outdoor kitchen and firepit. USA Like most things in the States, the Love Island USA villa is much bigger than the UK version. Unlike the UK one however, this villa is a set designed entirely for the show, rather than using an existing structure. They also have the addition of a 'speakeasy'. Unlike in the UK where the beds face each other, in the US all the beds are in a long line in the bedroom. UK Over the years there's been a lot of challenges in the UK version of the series, from the Twitter challenge, to the baby challenge and of course all those gross food tasks. Thankfully the food tasks are now gone and generally the producers have cut back on the game element of the series. Now, the biggest challenges are the "snog, marry, pie" and the snogging line up challenge. USA In the USA, the series does a variety of challenges and while they keep some the same such as "snog, marry, pie" there's still a lot of different ones. Earlier this season they did a blind-folded test with the new bombshells and last year they continued the tradition of doing the food challenges they've axed in the UK. UK Since the show began in 2015, Love Island UK has always given away a prize fund of £50,000 to the couple who are crowned the season's winners. For many of the seasons the winning couple would then be asked if they wanted to split or steal the money from their partner, however this part of the show has since been axed. USA Over on the other side of the pond, the winning couple walks away with a joint prize fund of $100,000.

'I love you!' someone shouted from the back of the orchestra seating. 'I love you more!' another fan responded. Simon's 'quiet celebration' was aptly named in more ways than one. He opened with a complete, 33-minute run-through of the 'Seven Psalms' record, with hushed, pristine songs that reckoned with age, spirituality, and meaning. Black and white title cards displayed the names of each song in the movement. At one point a sound like the sanctus bells of the Catholic church glistened. Guitarists Mark Stewart and Gyan Riley embellished on Simon's foundations. After a brief intermission, the band returned with two more members, including the South African bassist Bakithi Kumalo, who played on Simon's groundbreaking 'Graceland' album (1986). The title track kicked off the second set, with Simon's voice decidedly forward in the mix. Later, the band played that album's 'Under African Skies' (dedicated to Joseph Shabalala,the founder of That song featured a special guest appearance from the singer Edie Brickell, Simon's wife. 'She'll undoubtedly vastly improve the performance,' he said by way of introduction. Some fans who showed up hoping to hear the greatest hits of Simon & Garfunkel may have left quietly disappointed, but for anyone attuned to Simon's long solo career, the show was a small miracle of precision and fidelity. On 'Slip Slidin' Away' (the lyrics of which – 'the nearer your destination…' – seemed especially poignant), the drum brushes were distinctly audible. The set included a couple of songs from 'The Rhythm of the Saints' (1990) the Brazil-centered follow-up to 'Graceland,' and several 'deep cuts,' as Simon said. Three were from his 1983 album 'Hearts and Bones,' including 'Rene and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After the War' ('This will be my first Surrealist Number One Hit,' he recalled joking to himself) and 'The Late Great Johnny Ace.' The latter ended with a photographic triptych of the icons that inspired it – John Lennon, JFK, and the tragic singer named in the title. Advertisement Midway through, Simon teased the crowd with the familiar guitar motifs he wrote for several Simon & Garfunkel songs, such as 'I Am a Rock,' before actually leading the band into a thoroughly reinvented version of 'Homeward Bound,' set to a shuffling beat. The band went out on a high note with the festive 'Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,' punctuated by the 'laughing' sound of the Brazilian cuica and Brickell materializing onstage to nail the whistling part. After carrying off the flowers he accepted from a fan in the front row, Simon returned to lead the musicians on a lightly jazzy/funky '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,' so very much of its 1975 vintage, and a vaguely Mexican-flavored version of 'The Boxer,' which featured a wonderful solo from Riley (son of the minimalist composer Terry Riley).' On that song's 'lie-la-lie' melody, the audience heartily joined in. Then Simon wrapped up the evening with a solo rendition of 'The Sound of Silence.' ‘Love Island: Beyond The Villa' Trailer & Premiere Date Set At Peacock
Peacock is catching up with the Love Island USA Season 6 Islanders with Love Island: Beyond the Villa set to premiere on Sunday, July 13. Following the premiere, the streamer will drop new episodes every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT beginning July 17.
