Danny Jansen homers and drives in 4 runs to help the Rays to a 6-3 win over the Braves

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Danny Jansen hit his first home run of the season and drove in four runs, Christopher Morel also homered and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Atlanta Braves 6-3 on Friday night.
Jansen, who had one hit in his first 27 at-bats through the Rays' first 12 games, hit a two-run homer on a first-pitch sinker from Bryce Elder in the fourth inning, scoring Kameron Misner. In his next at-bat in the sixth, the 29-year-old catcher hit an RBI single to center and added a ground-rule double in the eighth that scored another run.
Morel hit a solo shot in the sixth and finished with three hits.
Rays starter Taj Bradley (2-0) struggled to get through the first, needing 32 pitches to get through the inning and allowing one run. Atlanta's Matt Olson drove in Austin Riley with a single to give the Braves a 1-0 lead before Bradley struck out Bryan De La Cruz and Jarred Kelenic with the bases loaded to end the threat.
Bradley worked six innings and limited Atlanta to one run on five hits, with two walks and seven strikeouts.
The Braves, who didn't arrive at their Tampa Bay-area hotel until 4:45 a.m. after a rain-delayed, extra-inning win over Philadelphia on Thursday night, tried to rally late.
The Braves hit two homers off Edwin Uceta in the eighth. Marcell Ozuna launched a 425-foot shot to left-center field with one out. Ozzie Albies took advantage of the short porch in right for his second homer of the season.
Elder (0-1) took the loss, allowing nine hits and five runs with four strikeouts.

Giants rally again to beat lowly Rockies 10-7 for 7th straight win
DENVER (AP) — Mike Yastrzemski's two-run double in the eighth inning keyed another San Francisco rally, and the Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 10-7 on Wednesday night for their seventh straight victory. Willy Adames homered and drove in three early runs for the Giants, but they trailed 6-3 entering the eighth before coming back against reliever Tyler Kinley (0-3). Adames, Heliot Ramos and Dominic Smith singled to load the bases with one out, and Casey Schmitt walked to bring in a run. Yastrzemski then lined a double off the right-center wall to tie it. Tyler Fitzgerald laid down a bunt against Zach Agnos, and Schmitt slid around the tag of catcher Hunter Goodman with the go-ahead run. Schmitt was initially ruled out but the call was overturned following a replay review. San Francisco added three insurance runs in the ninth on Wilmer Flores' sacrifice fly, and RBI singles by Schmitt and Yastrzemski. Goodman hit his 11th homer in the bottom half to give him three hits and two RBIs, but the major league-worst Rockies fell to 12-55 with their fifth straight defeat. Wilmington rallies past Spartanburgers
SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Spartanburgers and Blue Rocks needed extra innings for the second straight night. Just like Tuesday, Wilmington (26-33) pulled out a one-run victory, 6-5, over Hub City (30-28). Cal Stark and Gleider Figuereo both mashed solo home runs. Figuereo became the first Spartanburger with double-digit home runs (10) on the season. After a sluggish night for both sides at the plate on Tuesday, Hub City hopped on the board early on Wednesday. Keith Jones II and Stark both scorched RBI doubles in addition to a run-scoring groundout from Yeison Morrobel. Hub City took a 3-0 lead after the first frame. Despite some traffic, Spartanburgers starter Aidan Curry managed to last two outs into the fourth inning without allowing a run. Wilmington got on the scoreboard in the fifth with back-to-back doubles from Cortland Lawson and Caleb Lomavita. Stark responded in the sixth with a solo home run to retake a three-run lead. An out later, Wilmington starter Travis Sthele finished his night with his only strikeout. Hub City added on in the eighth when Figuereo left the yard to right. Dylan MacLean took over in the sixth out of the bullpen for Hub City. After a leadoff base hit, MacLean set down the next nine batters he faced. Hub City held a 5-1 lead into the ninth. Five straight walks came back to bite the Spartanburgers. Wilmington scored four runs without a hit to tie the game. All Hub City mustered at the plate in the ninth off Yeuris Jimenez (W, 3-2) was a walk. In the top of the 10th, Teo Banks led the inning off with a single to put runners at the corners. Josh Mollerus (L, 6-1) rolled a double play, but the automatic runner scored to give Wilmington its first lead of the night. Samuel Vasquez (S, 2) stranded a Hub City runner at second to finish off the win for the Blue Rocks in the bottom half. After dropping the first two games of the series, Hub City sends RHP Kolton Curtis (2-1, 5.19 ERA) to start game three. Wilmington will start RHP Travis Sykora (1-0, 1.38 ERA).
