Sana'a districts launch fourth summer forum for gifted students

The Executive Committee for Summer Courses in Bani al-Harith and al-Thawra districts of the capital Sana'a on Monday inaugurated the competitions for the Fourth Summer Forum for the Gifted and Creative in Summer Schools.
Over four days, students from summer schools in these districts will compete in various fields, including Quran memorization and recitation, innovation, public speaking, poetry, chanting, storytelling, drawing, sculptures, theater, and folklore.
Members of the Yemeni Scholars Association and the Director of the Martyrs' Families Care Authority branch listened to creative examples from the students, highlighting the benefits of the summer programs.
Speakers emphasized the importance of these courses in building a Quranic generation with a strong faith identity, knowledge, and awareness to counter "soft warfare" and harmful ideas targeting youth.
The forum was also noted for its role in discovering talent and creativity, with calls for relevant authorities to support the enrolled students.
Officials and educational leaders from both districts attended the inauguration, praising the efforts of the forum's committees and organizers.

During the launch, Allama Muftah praised the efforts of the Martyrs' Foundation in executing numerous projects, including the Eid sacrifice initiative for martyrs' families, as part of the Economic Empowerment Project carried out by the foundation. He called on philanthropists and merchants to support the Eid sacrifice project to enable the foundation to reach a larger number of martyrs' and missing persons' families. For his part, Saleh Al-Khawlani, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, commended the Martyrs' Foundation's role in serving the families of martyrs, emphasizing that the Yemeni people today live under the blessings of their sacrifices in defending the homeland. He noted that, thanks to the blood of the martyrs, Yemen stands today with greatness alongside their brothers in the Gaza Strip, supporting their just cause. He stressed the importance of continuing such projects and others in various fields, including education and health. In turn, Hassan Jaran, the Executive Director of the Martyrs' Foundation, explained that the Eid sacrifice project targets 1,500 of the most impoverished families of martyrs across various provinces, with a total budget of 200 million Yemeni riyals. He indicated that approximately 85% of the sacrifices will be distributed in-kind, except for four provinces: Lahj, Al-Dhale', Shabwa, and parts of Taiz. Jaran pointed out that this year's project is distinguished by the fact that the sacrifices were purchased from the families of martyrs as part of the Economic Empowerment Project, supported by the Martyrs' Foundation, donors, and merchants. Sana'a - Saba: The General Administration of the Central Correctional Facility in the Capital Secretariat organized on Saturday an event marking the conclusion of summer activities and courses for inmates in 1446 AH. The event was attended by the Deputy Secretary of the Capital for the Education Sector, Mohammed Al-Banous. Scholar Hamoud Sharafuddin, a member of the Scholars' Association, praised the efforts of those overseeing the summer courses at the facility, highlighting their significant role in the success of these programs designed for inmate graduates. He emphasized the importance of these courses in enhancing their Quranic knowledge. Sharafuddin pointed out the significance of summer programs in nurturing minds and bodies while protecting them from misguided ideologies. He commended the fruitful lessons and activities the inmates received, which will reflect positively on their knowledge and behavior as a valuable educational outcome. He affirmed that these courses and the great initiatives of the summer centers for Quran memorization increase awareness among inmates, praising the large turnout of participants from the Central Correctional Facility in the Capital Secretariat. For his part, Brigadier Yahya Salah, Director of the Central Correctional Facility, commended the inmates' engagement in the summer programs. He urged all inmates to continue their rehabilitation, stay connected to God's guidance, and participate in Quran recitation circles, given their positive impact on behavior and enlightenment. Speeches by participants in the summer courses also highlighted the inmates' level of benefit across various aspects during the program, which helps shape and define their future path.
