Lil Uzi Vert's Entourage Accused Of Assaulting Man For Looking At Their Rolls-Royce
AllHipHop reports that Abdullah Ali filed a civil lawsuit in Philadelphia's Common Pleas Court this week. Ali claims that Uzi and 10 of their associates violently attacked him in June 2023 in Manhattan. The alleged victim stated that he was 'lawfully present' on a public sidewalk on Park Avenue, and simply stopped to look at a luxury vehicle parked in a trailer that had Money Team LLC branding.
'Defendants …. without provocation attacked, assaulted and/or battered plaintiff Abdullah Ali while he was observing a Rolls-Royce vehicle that was parked in a Money Team LLC labeled trailer,' the lawsuit reads. Ali claims that he suffered from a dislocated shoulder that required surgery and lost multiple teeth. He is suing Uzi and their entourage for assault, battery, negligence, and emotional distress.
Ali and his legal team originally tried to file this lawsuit in New York, but it was thrown out by U.S. District Judge Louis L. Stanton for jurisdictional issues. His lead attorneys, Corey Morgenstern and Michael Rose, hope that Philadelphia will be more receptive to the case. Notably, Floyd Mayweather has also been named as a co-defendant, along with his LLCs and 12 unnamed people; six of the unnamed individuals are allegedly tied to Mayweather's Money Team.
'Contrary to popular belief the streets of New York City are not a boxing ring,' Matthew Blit, another one of Ali's attorneys, said. 'There are ramifications for laying your hands on a person. Our client was helpless that night, but he has chosen wisely to level the playing field and challenge the champ and musician in court with us in his corner.'
Atlantic Records, Uzi's label, has denied their involvement in the alleged assault. They added that they do not know Mayweather personally, have no affiliation with Money Team, and were not even near where the alleged incident took place. Judge Stanton added that there was no evidence to place Uzi near where the alleged assault happened, though they were in the city for their Pink Prom event.

That's possible, but 'pretrial hearing' doesn't convey that clearly. The lingering employment problem for Addison continues to be this — any outcome that suggests responsibility will trigger a baseline suspension of three games without pay. Mike Florio – Related: And sure enough, Florio was proven right today when Jordan Addison's attorney took to Twitter and announced that his client was pleading guilty, but not to the original 'Driving Under the Influence' charges. Instead, the 23-year-old former No. 23 overall pick is pleading guilty to a lesser 'Reckless Driving' charge that assumes alcohol was involved. In California, the plead down charge is better known under its informal moniker, a 'wet reckless', which is what Younger & Associates used to make the new plea public on X. A 'wet reckless' is a negotiated plea. Specifically, 'wet reckless' is the term given to a plea whereby the prosecutor originally charges a DUI (under Vehicle Code Section 23152), but later drops those charges in exchange for the defendant pleading guilty (or 'no contest') to a charge of reckless driving (under Vehicle Code Section 23103). The 'wet' in 'wet reckless' means that there is an acknowledgement that the reckless driving involved alcohol and/or other drugs. This disposition is authorized by Vehicle Code Section 23103.5. You cannot be arrested for or charged with a 'wet reckless'; it is not a stand-alone crime. It is exclusively a negotiated plea. Essentially, it is a disposition in between a reckless driving conviction and a DUI conviction. Think of it as a reduced-penalty DUI. Now we wait for the NFL to rule on possible suspension for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver This is a big win for Jordan Addison, outside of football. Sure, the reckless driving charge probably means it'll cost him a lot of money to get into Canada for the next decade or so, but this plea deal means he will no longer have 'DUI' on his driving record. If more details come out on exactly what led to today's plea, we will add it to this article. But on the football field, we do not know what this change will mean for a possible Jordan Addison suspension. As Florio noted earlier this week, the standard operating procedure for a DUI suspension is three games. Related: Clearly, a 'wet reckless' still has legally binding alcohol-related implications. Thus, the NFL would still be well within its right to suspend Addison, even after the plea deal. Will they? If they do indeed go through with a suspension, will it reach the three game standard, or will the league bring Addison's punishment down as well? We'll soon find out. Busta Rhymes Addresses Former Assistant's Assault Lawsuit: 'It's An Attempted Shake-Down'
Busta Rhymes is denying all claims made by his former assistant, Dashiel Gables, who accused him of assault. In an emailed statement, the rapper said, 'I have been made aware of the claims made by Dashiel Gables, and I completely and categorically deny these allegations.' He also announced plans to file a countersuit. Rhymes — né Trevor Smith Jr. — confirmed that Gables 'assisted' him for 'a very brief period,' but added, 'It did not work out.' He continued, 'Apparently, Dashiel has decided to respond to being let go by manufacturing claims against me in an attempt to attack and damage my reputation. I look forward to proving these allegations false, and am preparing a countersuit, which I am confident will expose this for what it is— an attempted shake-down by a disgruntled former assistant. Ultimately, I am certain the truth will prevail.' Gables (who's also known under the pseudonym Divine) accused the rapper of assault and a hostile work environment. He claimed Smith punched him in the face, causing a swollen eye. He also said he was later fired and blackballed. The civil complaint was filed on Monday (Aug. 4) with Gables claiming the alleged assault stemmed from a January 2025 argument. He said Smith screamed, 'Stay the f**k off your phone,' and then allegedly struck his face twice. 'Defendants constructively terminated plaintiff's employment by repeatedly punching him in the face,' the filing read. Gables was hospitalized and filed a police report. Smith turned himself in to authorities and faced three assault charges. Back then, Gables told the New York Post that his legal team advised him not to speak with the press. He explained, 'Maybe later. Maybe in the future. I can't mess up my case, bro. It's just not going to be worth it. An article in the paper as opposed to a six or seven-million-dollar settlement? I'm not risking it, sorry.' Gables claimed he experienced abuse routinely while working for the rapper. He accused Smith of spitting in employees' faces, smacking them on the back of the head and grabbing their clothes. He also alleged that Smith called him a homophobic slur, mocked his poor hearing, and threatened to 'bloody [his] face.' The news comes on the heels of Busta receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
