Hodeidah Traffic Police achieve success in safety indicators & enhance traffic discipline
The Traffic Police Department in Al Hodaidah Governorate has achieved remarkable success in improving traffic safety indicators as part of a field enforcement and discipline campaign, this campaign has directly contributed to enhancing road flow and reducing accident rates over the past period.
This success was reflected in the general landscape in the governorate center, where traffic appeared more orderly, and congestion and bottlenecks decreased due to the continuous field deployment of traffic patrols and citizens' engagement with enforcement and discipline measures, this has contributed to establishing a safer traffic environment, reflected in the movement of vehicles on the streets and in public markets.
The governorate's traffic police director, Colonel Mohammed Al-Nuwaira, confirmed to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the campaign, launched months ago in the governorate center, has achieved positive results and marked a qualitative shift in traffic control, thanks to the efforts of field personnel with a high sense of responsibility.
He explained that the main streets have witnessed a remarkable smooth flow of traffic since Dhu al-Qi'dah, thanks to the field plan, intensified oversight efforts, and the implementation of measures against violators, he also noted the adoption of a new mechanism for monitoring and documenting violations electronically to ensure rapid follow-up.
Al-Nuwaira indicated that traffic accidents during Dhu al-Qi'dah decreased to 21, compared to 46 in Rabi' al-Thani of the same year, a clear indication of the effectiveness of field interventions.
The number of deaths resulting from accidents also decreased from two to just one, while serious injuries decreased from 45 to 25, and minor injuries from six to one, this contributed to reducing pressure on the health sector and alleviating the social and economic burdens resulting from accidents.
Statistics also recorded a decline in material losses resulting from accidents, falling from 1.9 million riyals to just 700,000 riyals during the same period, this reflects a decrease in the amount of damage to vehicles and public and private property, and reinforces the importance of continuing these preventive campaigns.
Detailing the types of accidents, Colonel Al-Nuwaira explained that vehicle collisions decreased from 27 to 12, while motorcycle collisions decreased from 16 to eight, with no rollovers or falls recorded, he indicated that this decline in serious accidents represents a true indicator of improved traffic awareness among drivers.
He pointed out that the department has intensified foot and vehicle patrols, impounded vehicles in violation, and addressed any shortages in logistical and field resources, he emphasized that the Traffic Police Command is monitoring the implementation of the campaigns and providing all necessary requirements to ensure their continuity and effectiveness.
He stated that a joint plan has been developed, in coordination with the Public Works Office and the Transport Regulatory Authority, to address congestion at market locations and sort taxis, this is part of a comprehensive vision to address the accumulated problems in these vital locations.
Colonel Al-Nuwaira confirmed that coordination is underway with the Public Works Sector to install traffic signals at three main intersections in the governorate center to enhance safety standards and better direct traffic, helping to reduce violations and ensure safe traffic flow at all times.
He called on citizens to engage positively with field enforcement measures, emphasizing that drivers' adherence to traffic rules is the cornerstone of preserving lives and property, and that community partnership in the success of campaigns is a key factor in consolidating traffic safety gains.
Al-Nuwaira explained that the General Directorate of Traffic Police in the governorate continues to enhance discipline and improve performance, keeping pace with the city's needs, enhancing traffic safety, and contributing to building a more efficient and sustainable traffic system that serves citizens and the public interest.

Gaza Gov't Media condemns Israeli act leaving 20 civilians killed
Gaza - Saba: The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip condemned the criminal behavior of the Zionist enemy forces, which led, at dawn on Wednesday, to the martyrdom of 20 Palestinians and the injury of dozens more, after an aid truck overturned on a group of Palestinians waiting for aid in the central Gaza Strip after the enemy forced it to take an unsafe road. The office said in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): "We condemn in the strongest terms this deliberate criminal policy practiced by the Israeli enemy forces, which amounts to a full-fledged crime of genocide under international humanitarian law." It added: "In light of the unprecedented humanitarian deterioration witnessed in the Gaza Strip, the "Israeli" enemy continues to commit the crime of mass starvation against more than 2.4 million people, through the continued closure of crossings and the prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid and essential supplies, as part of a systematic policy aimed at breaking the steadfastness of our people and dismantling their social fabric. The Office continued: "Despite the limited permission given to the entry of some trucks recently, the enemy deliberately prevents these trucks from being secured and prevents their access to those who deserve them. Rather, it forces drivers to take routes crowded with hungry civilians who have been waiting for weeks for the most basic necessities of life. This leads to attacks on these trucks and the confiscation of their contents, in a scene deliberately and deliberately created by the Israeli enemy, under what has become known as "engineering starvation and chaos." The "government media" pointed out that this deliberate criminal behavior has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of civilians over the past months. The latest bloody chapter occurred this morning, when 20 martyrs were killed and dozens injured in the Central Governorate while trying to reach food aid amid catastrophic conditions and chaos deliberately created by the enemy authorities. He explained that a truck carrying food overturned on the starving after the Zionist enemy forced it to enter through unsafe roads that had previously been bombed and were not suitable for passage. This reveals the enemy's deliberate targeting of civilians with danger and murder as part of its "engineering of chaos and starvation." The office held the Israeli enemy and the countries involved in this system, led by the United States of America, fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian catastrophe and for the blood of innocents who fall daily as a result of hunger and the deliberate mismanagement imposed by the enemy forces. It called on the international community, the United Nations, and humanitarian and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to stop this crime, impose the full, safe, and sustainable opening of the crossings, and ensure the flow of food, medical, and life-saving aid without obstacles or political conditions. It emphasized that the situation in the Gaza Strip has crossed all red lines, and that the ongoing systematic crime is a failure to respond and a direct or indirect complicity in deepening the crime through silence, complicity, or disregard.
