IAS Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan is one of the most famous civil servants of India. He obtained the All India Rank(AIR) 2nd Rank in 2015. He cleared the prestigious exam in his second attempt. Khan frequently draws media attention because of his private life. He married fellow IAS officer Tina Dabi, whom he had met earlier in their IAS training. In the UPSC exam, Tina secured AIR 1, and Athar came second in the UPSC exam. In 2021, the couple decided to divorce. Later, Athar got married to Mahreen Qazi, who works at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre located in New Delhi.
Khan, who hails from Devipora-Mattan village in Anantnag district, 60 km south from Srinagar, obtained All India Rank(AIR) 2nd Rank in the year 2015. The son of a school teacher, Athar also got into the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) but he refused admission that year and was offered a B-Tech course by them when he wanted to study BE. As far as his schooling is concerned, Athar Aamir Khan studied at multiple different schools, Biscoe School and Tyndale Biscoe School in Srinagar, Evergreen Public School and Iqbal Memorial Institute in Anantnag; he completed Class 11th and 12th from Tyndale Biscoe School in Srinagar. Notably, Mr Khan first gained fame in 2012 after winning Comedy Central's 'India's Best Stand-Up' competition. The 16th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) opened on a grand note on Thursday with actor Aamir Khan inaugurating the event. Upholding Indian tradition on international soil, Khan lit the ceremonial lamp after respectfully removing his shoes, marking the official commencement of the 11-day celebration of cinema and culture. The evening gained further momentum as Khan introduced the Opening Night Film, Baksho Bondi , in the presence of its acclaimed cast and crew. Actors Tillotama Shome, Tanushree Das were warmly received by the packed audience. 'It is truly an honour to open the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Cinema brings us all together, and I'm delighted to finally be here after hearing so much about the festival,' Khan said, extending his wishes to the team of Baksho Bondi and other participating films. Ongole Book Festival attracts people of all ages

Ongole: The third day of the Ongole Book Festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from readers on Sunday. Being a holiday, parents, teachers, and students attended in large numbers, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the book stalls. Children's storybooks and activity books emerged as major attractions, with children eagerly searching for comics and activity materials while parents purchased educational books like atlases and essay writing guides. The National Book Trust (NBT) organised a creative writing workshop from 3 pm, conducted by Manjuluru Krishna Kumari and CA Prasad. Around 40 students participated enthusiastically, with some writing their favourite stories while others drew pictures on their preferred topics. At 5:30 pm, Jana Vijnana Vedika presented an educational magic show that greatly entertained children. The day's highlight was the launch of five new books at 6 pm under NBT's auspices, overseen by NBT officer Pattipaka Mohan. The released titles included Jujurana, Manchi Mitrulu, Shera-Mittu, Bujji Gudlaguba Balu, and Tokala Katha. Joint Collector Ronanki Gopala Krishna attended as the chief guest, while several dignitaries, including AV Pullarao, Dr Nageswarao, and others, participated. Speaking on the occasion, Gopala Krishna observed that books are the actual assets one can gather. He recollected how the book exhibition at Hyderabad made him fall in love with Telugu literature, and how the literature helped him as an option in UPSC. He noted that the book exhibitions in Hyderabad and Vijayawada attract a large footfall, and commended the organisers for holding a similar event in Ongole. Following the book launch, prominent personalities from Prakasam district spoke about books that influenced or inspired them. Monday's programme includes a clay handicraft workshop for children from 2-5 pm, book releases by Visalandhra Book House at 6 pm, and an intellectual discussion on 'Libraries and Society' at 7 pm.
