A solid Dream 11 portfolio today needs the right balance of big hitters, reliable anchors, and all-rounders with consumer-facing sectors leading the top order, says Robin Arya smallcase Manager and Founder, GoalFi.Trump's decisions can shake global markets overnight—just like a surprise yorker in cricket. But as investors, we don't need to predict every ball. At GoalFi, we believe in staying prepared, not panicking. My advice: keep a solid base with steady sectors like FMCG , healthcare, and consumer goods that don't get affected easily. At the same time, have some exposure to fast-moving themes like banks and Indian manufacturing. Using GoalFi's real-time research, we track these moves closely and rebalance when needed. This way, you're not reacting to every headline—you're playing with a clear strategy. In today's markets, discipline beats drama. In markets, like in T20 cricket, you need dependable all-rounders—those who don't always hit sixes but hold the innings together. At GoalFi, we see sectors like FMCG, healthcare, and large NBFCs as the true stabilisers. These sectors are backed by steady demand, predictable earnings, and strong fundamentals. Even in choppy markets, they stay calm under pressure. Financials—especially select NBFCs—may not always be flashy, but their strong risk controls and retail lending strength make them reliable over the long term. For us, these are the middle-order players in a portfolio—balancing risk, offering stability, and setting up the innings for big finishers to come in later. In every IPL season, a few teams dominate with clarity, consistency, and confidence. In the market right now, that role is being played by financials and consumer sectors. At GoalFi, we see private banks and NBFCs leading from the front—strong credit growth, improving asset quality, and solid demand from Bharat. Alongside, FMCG continues to deliver—urban premiumisation and rural recovery are both picking up pace. On the other hand, tech and EV-related plays are seeing mixed signals due to global uncertainty and delayed capex cycles. So while the buzz is often around the flashy themes, the real scoreboard impact is coming from sectors with deep economic linkages. In our view, that's where the smart, sustainable alpha is being built.Right now, we're in the middle overs—that phase where momentum builds quietly, and smart rotation matters more than big hits. At GoalFi, we're seeing selective optimism: macro data is steady, earnings are stabilising, and domestic demand is holding strong. But global uncertainty still keeps the big shots in check. This is not the time to swing blindly—it's the time for smart sector rotation, tight risk control, and disciplined investing. Just like a good middle-order batter, you build a base now so that when the slog overs come—maybe later this year—you're well-positioned to accelerate. That's the mindset we bring to portfolio strategy today. If we had to pick one franchise to back for the rest of the season, it would be financials—especially NBFCs and private banks. This space is benefiting from strong credit demand, clean balance sheets, and digital transformation at scale. At GoalFi, we're also closely watching India's manufacturing and capital goods revival—a multi-year structural story gaining pace with government capex, PLI schemes, and supply chain shifts. These aren't just short-term trades—they're long innings with compounding potential. We believe sectors that serve Bharat, enable consumption, and build physical infrastructure are where the real wealth creation will happen. And we're positioning for it.A solid Dream 11 portfolio today needs the right balance of big hitters, reliable anchors, and all-rounders—just like your favourite IPL squad. At GoalFi, we'd load up with financials (both private banks and NBFCs) as our core—playing the anchor role with strong credit growth and economic linkage. Our top-order would include consumer-facing sectors—FMCG, discretionary, and retail—which are showing signs of a demand revival. For mid-overs acceleration, manufacturing and capital goods bring structural momentum. And in the slog overs, we'd keep a tactical eye on select digital and tourism themes—they may not fire every match, but can deliver match-winning returns when conditions are right. That's how we build—not just a portfolio, but a team built to play across all formats of the market.

Pat Cummins mocked with a cheeky dig by English TV presenter ahead of WTC Final: ‘Do you ever get anyone out?'

Australia captain Pat Cummins appears to be in a bit of relaxed mode as he gears up for the World Test Championship Final against South Africa in England. The Australian skipper recently wrapped up his stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL before heading to England for the high-stakes WTC final. After reaching there, Cummins got involved in some off-field commitments. Recently, he shot a fun segment with famous English TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson and other TV personalities Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland. A video of Prime Video went viral, showing Cummins playing cricket with the other three ahead of the WTC final in London. At the start of the video, Cummins gets hit for a few shots, which causes Clarksen to take a shot at him. "Do you ever get anyone out?" he said. A post shared by Prime Video Sport AUNZ (@primevideosportaunz) However, he didn't age well for Cooper, who was batting at the moment, as Cummins got the better of him and cleaned him up on the very next delivery. Cooper shouted at Clarksen and said, "Why did you do that?" Cummins will lead the Australian team in their second successive WTC final. He led them to the title win in the last edition after the win over India. Meanwhile, South Africa will be playing their maiden WTC final after they topped the standings of the third edition of the ICC tournament. Cummins showered praise on the Proteas and believes the Temba Bavuma-led side has multiple match-winners in their midst to pose a challenge. "They always seem to compete in every tournament. They have got a lot of experience, especially the white-ball teams - they play across different franchise leagues. Rabada, Maharaj, Bavuma, they have played a lot of cricket over the years," said the Aussie skipper. "They have really good fast bowlers, they always seem to have not just one or two main guys but they have got four-six guys they can call," he said. The Aussie captain asserted that there is a bit of mystique when they face South Africa, as they haven't played much against them as compared to India. "And yeah, some batters, you have not seen much (of them), but they have scored plenty of domestic runs. (We have) played most of the guys in the squad, certainly not everyone. There is always a little bit of mystique around South Africa, because we do not play them as often as, say India," he concluded.

WATCH: Fuming R Ashwin walks back unhappy with umpire's decision during TNPL game

Former Indian cricketer R Ashwin was seen fuming during the Tamil Nadu Premier League. The 38-year-old who plays for Dindigul Dragons was judged LBW off the bowling of Sai Kishore, who plays for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. Ashwin was seen in a long argument with the umpire, and he was thundering off the field and was seen hitting his pads in anger with the bat. 'Ashwin is saying 'he has bowled this from over the stumps, ma'am', arguing his case that it was pitched well outside leg stump,' said one of the commentators on AIR during the incident. Dindigul Dragons burnt both their reviews in the opening over in the hope of overturning the wide call from the umpire. Ashwin's 18 is the second-highest score alongside RK Jayant. Shivam Singh, with his 30, was the top scorer as the Dragons were bundled out for a mere 93 runs from 16.2 overs. Esakkimuthu A was the pick of the bowlers for Tamizhans with four wickets, with M Mathivannan picking three wickets. Skipper Sai Kishore too chipped in with a couple. R Ashwin's retirement after the third Test during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy came in as a bit of a surprise at the time. The off-spinner after bowling well in the Adelaide Test on a wicket that was not conducive for spinners was axed from the Gabba Test at the end of which he called it a day. With 537 wickets to his name when asked if he would have liked to have a farewell Test for his retirement he responded by saying, 'Where is the place?' 'I want to play more cricket. Where is the place? Obviously not in the Indian dressing room but from somewhere else. I want to be honest with the game. Imagine if I want to play the farewell Test but I do not deserve a place. Imagine, I am only in the team because it is my farewell Test. I don't want that. I felt there was more strength in my cricket. I could have played more but it is always better to finish when people ask 'why' and not 'why not',' Ashwin said on Ash ki Bath. 'What difference will this make if I came out with the ball and people are clapping? How long will people talk about it? When social media was not there, people talked about it and forgot after one week. There is no need for a farewell. The game has given us a lot and we have played with a lot of happiness.' Ashwin added.
