Blockbuster Four-Team NBA Trade Idea Sends Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo to Raptors
Blockbuster Four-Team NBA Trade Idea Sends Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo to Raptors originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
According to Doug Smith of The Toronto Star, mutual interest exists between Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Toronto Raptors.

Shams Charania of ESPN reported in May that Antetokounmpo is open-minded about leaving the Bucks this offseason.
'I don't know if it will happen but I do know there is mutual interest between Antetokounmpo and the Raptors,' Smith wrote. 'The wild card is the cost. But I also think the Raptors are uniquely placed to make an attractive offer that won't ruin their franchise or roster.'
The Bucks have won only one postseason series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns.
Meanwhile, the Raptors have been looking for a superstar ever since Kawhi Leonard left for the Los Angeles Clippers in the summer of 2019.

With Smith's reporting in mind, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report proposed a four-team trade idea between the Bucks, Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls that lands Antetokounmpo in Toronto.

The Raptors would get Antetokounmpo, Jalen Smith and Jevon Carter, the Bucks would get RJ Barrett, Gradey Dick, Chris Boucher, Ja'Kobe Walter and Gabe Vincent, the Lakers would get Lonzo Ball and Jakob Poeltl and the Bulls would get Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt, Shake Milton and AJ Lawson.
"Why Antetokounmpo? Does that need exposition? His ties to Toronto may stem from his relationship with top executive Masai Ujiri," Pincus wrote. "If Antetokounmpo is picking the Raptors, who are they to say no?
"The larger question is justifying the cost. On the premise that Toronto has no interest in moving Scottie Barnes in the deal, it's giving up nearly all the first-round compensation possible (a little more than what the Cleveland Cavaliers paid out to get Donovan Mitchell)."
Antetokounmpo doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract. The future Hall of Famer averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks for the Bucks this season.

Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star with career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks.
It will be fascinating to see where Antetokounmpo is playing next season.

Rivals Camp Series: The five best QBs of the 2025 regionals
Editor's Note: This article first appeared on the leader in college football and basketball recruiting coverage. Be the first to know and follow your teams by signing up here. The regional stops of the Rivals Camp Series is in the books with the Rivals Five-Star at the Indianapolis Colts' practice facility coming up later this month. Today, we look at the best players at each position through the regional events starting with quarterback. RIVALS CAMP SERIES: Rivals Five-Star heading back to Indy | Rivals Five-Star roster | Schedule/info CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker Houston showed in Dallas that he has all the traits of an elite quarterback and it's why USC has made him its top priority in the 2027 class and many others, including Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M and LSU, are staying involved. The Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian high four-star is not the biggest quarterback in the world but that's what everyone said about Kyler Murray, Bryce Young and so many others. In today's game, quarterback height is less important than ever before. Houston is a playmaker and even if a camp setting isn't the best for him, the four-star still delivered in a major way. Over the last few days, Jarrard has visited Purdue, Notre Dame and Clemson and heading into the Atlanta camp he had received offers from Georgia and Ohio State as the 2027 four-star from Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the entire country. The ball pops off Jarrard's hand. He has velocity, timing and everything else to back up all the attention he's received on the recruiting trail. The Atlanta Camp was loaded at quarterback and even though Jarrard didn't win the MVP award, he was definitely impressive and one of the best QBs at any Rivals regional camp. To beat out Teddy Jarrard, North Carolina commit Travis Burgess, Mississippi State pledge Brodie McWhorter and others for the MVP award, Johnson had a phenomenal performance at the Atlanta camp which was one of many this offseason. The 2027 four-star quarterback from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes was sharp, showed off great arm talent, had a clean motion throughout the event and then seemed to get better and better throughout the camp. It was a close race at the top but Johnson edged out some other elite quarterbacks. The five-star quarterback was fantastic as always at the Los Angeles stop and what's even more impressive is that a camp setting is not where Lyons does his best work. The Folsom, Calif., standout sat in the pocket and zipped passes all over the field. He knows when to dial it back a little bit and has such an unreal feel for receivers and immediately having chemistry with them. Lyons is best when he can freelance a little bit, escape pressure and make magic happen and that's not a camp setting but he was still great. Oregon, BYU, Michigan and others continue after him. It's hard to believe that Wade is a 2028 prospect because he has all the tools and is physically developed enough that it wouldn't be a shock to anyone if he reclassified because he doesn't need three more high school seasons. He's now the guy at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy and he should shine because he is a special prospect who will clearly be under five-star consideration. Wade was arguably the best quarterback at the loaded Los Angeles event, which is always so deep at the position. Even still, the 2028 prospect stood out. He has the total package from decision-making to arm talent and beyond. Oregon, Texas and others have already made an impression.

Phillies Trade Idea Replaces Max Kepler With D-Backs' Lourdes Gurriel
Phillies Trade Idea Replaces Max Kepler With D-Backs' Lourdes Gurriel originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Philadelphia Phillies will have to hope that multiple teams sell at the deadline. One of them could be the Arizona Diamondbacks, and there's a player on their roster who could fit in well with Philadelphia. That player is none other than Lourdes Gurriel Jr, a left fielder who has swung the bat at a high level throughout his career. Advertisement Gurriel will never impress anyone too much with his numbers, but he's a steady big leaguer with a .277 average and a 112 career OPS+. There's a reason he's been in the league for eight years and looks to have many more seasons ahead of him. At 31 years old, he could be somebody the Phillies rely on for the next year or two. In a proposed trade idea from Tim Kelly of OnPattison, he spoke about how the Phillies could get creative on the trade market, adding that Gurriel could be a potential option for them to pursue. Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Max Kepler (17) doubles against the New York Yankees in the first inning during spring training at George M. Steinbrenner Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images "Gurriel was an All-Star in 2023, and drove in 11 runs in the postseason as the Snakes made a shocking run past the Phillies and into the World Series. After that, the Diamondbacks re-signed him to a three-year/$42 million deal that includes a player opt-out after 2025 and a $14 million club option for 2027," Kelly wrote. Advertisement "The thing about Gurriel is if you trade for him, he's going to be your everyday left fielder. He would be an upgrade over Kepler, but with a .747 OPS since the start of the 2024 season, perhaps not enough to justify taking on the remainder of his contract." His contract is a bit worrisome, as Kelly mentioned, but sometimes, teams have to deal with financial issues to win a World Series. If the Phillies think he can be their everyday left fielder and would be an upgrade over somebody like Max Kepler, there's reason to believe this type of trade makes sense.
