'Father Refused To Go To Pakistan': Naseeruddin Shah After Standing Up For Diljit Dosanjh
Amid backlash over his support for Diljit Dosanjh in the Sardaar Ji 3 row, Naseeruddin Shah says he doesn't need to prove his patriotism to anyone.
Naseeruddin Shah has been in the headlines after coming out in support of Diljit Dosanjh over Sardaar Ji 3, which stars Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Naseer, who had posted on Facebook in support of Dosanjh, has now stated that he doesn't have to prove his love for this country to anyone.
In a heartfelt opinion piece for The Indian Express, Naseeruddin Shah shared that his father refused to go to Pakistan with his brother and was quite certain about staying back. He wrote, 'I was born in India into the fifth generation of a Muslim family, my wife into an even older Hindu one, and we hope our children can be a combination of the best of both. My father refused to go to Pakistan when his brothers left; he was certain India had a future for us, just as I feel it does for my offspring. This is a dream that cannot be abandoned."
Earlier, Naseeruddin had come forward to back Diljit, who has been receiving flak for his association with a Pakistani co-star. 'I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT," Naseeruddin had written. 'The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they've got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film — the director was."
He continued, 'But no one knows who he is, whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned. What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there, and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever I feel like it. And my response to those who will say 'Go to Pakistan' is 'GO TO KAILASA'."
Later, when his post was taken down and netizens believed he had indeed removed it, the actor clarified, 'I have NOT deleted my post about Diljit Dosanjh. I don't care a fiddler's fart for backlash."
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also reacted to Naseeruddin's remarks. Speaking to ANI, he said, 'We are not surprised, not shocked, by Naseeruddin Shah's response to Diljit Dosanjh's entire episode. The educated, versatile actor, senior person in the industry, calling us goons proves the frustration and kind of restlessness of Naseeruddin Shah."

For context: Blake Lively is suing Baldoni for sexual harassment, claiming he retaliated against her after she spoke out, launching a hidden campaign to ruin her reputation. Lively's lawsuit even accuses Baldoni of sneaking in a controversial scene where Young Lily loses her virginity — and then making the young actors uncomfortable by allegedly remarking, 'I know I'm not supposed to say this, but that was hot.' As expected, Baldoni's camp has pushed back hard. His lawyers released text messages from Ferrer where she once described him as a 'great director' and 'wonderful to work with.' Their argument? That Ferrer only began distancing herself when Baldoni's feud with Lively exploded during the movie's promotion. But Ferrer's involvement escalated earlier this year when Lively's lawyers subpoenaed her in February, seeking communications related to the case. That forced Ferrer to lawyer up — and ask Baldoni's team, as her employer, to cover the costs. Instead of cutting a check, Ferrer's lawyer Sanford Michelman says Baldoni tried to make the financial guarantee conditional on influencing her legal strategy. It didn't stop there. Michelman claims Baldoni's team even cited a 'fake case' (which he believes was generated by AI) as justification for why producers deserved to influence her strategy in the case. He also accused them of twisting facts about Ferrer's role in the legal mess. Furthermore, while negotiations were ongoing, Baldoni's team apparently asked Michelman if he'd accept a subpoena on behalf of Ferrer. He refused. Still, Baldoni's lawyers continue to push for Ferrer to produce documents and messages. Now, in her own filing, Ferrer is asking the court to 'deny the Motion in its entirety and impose appropriate sanctions against Baldoni,' per Variety (ANI). 55-foot trishul & damru to add spiritual charm to Vizag's Kailasagiri
Visakhapatnam: The Kailasagiri hilltop park in Visakhapatnam will soon feature a new 55-foot Trishul. The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) launched the works of the project, estimated at Rs 1.5 crore. According to VMRDA officials, the project includes important symbols from Hindu mythology, made using modern engineering and design. The Trishul, which means divine power and protection, will be the main attraction. The Damaru, representing creation and the rhythm of the universe, will go alongside the Trishul, matching it in shape and meaning. Attracting nearly 10 lakh visitors annually, Kailasagiri is one of the prominent hilltop parks with panoramic sea views on the East Coast. Visitors can view the entire city of Visakhapatnam from the top of this eco-rich hill. Besides the sacred statues of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the hilltop offers many attractions such as the Titanic viewpoint, Shanku-Chakra Namas of Lord Venkateswara, a toy train, and a ropeway that transports visitors between the city and the hill. Regarding the background of the project, the VMRDA 'Authority', in its recent meeting, accorded administrative sanction for an amount of Rs 1.55 crore for the construction of the Trishul and Damaru at the top of Kailasagiri Hill Park. The project is located near the Hanumanthuwaka side of the park. The Trishul and Damaru will be designed with a mild steel frame structure wrapped in translucent fibre-reinforced plastic material and will feature built-in LED illumination. The project is expected to be completed within six months. VMRDA Chairman MV Pranav Gopal said that a Trishul with a Damaru, approximately 55 feet tall, is being constructed with a budget of Rs 1.55 crore to attract visitors to Visakhapatnam. "It is being set up on the Hanumanthuwaka side so that it is visible to everyone from the city. The largest glass bridge in the country, developed on Kailasagiri, will soon be accessible to the public as well," said Pranav. The hill park developed by VMRDA covers 380 acres of land and features landscaped gardens with rich flora and tropical trees. Situated at an altitude of 360 feet, the park offers views of the beach on one side and green forests on the other, along with a panoramic view of the city. Kailasagiri is a favourite tourist spot in the city.

‘Not just Saif': Other Royals too claim share in last nawab's properties
Bhopal: The Supreme Court has stayed MP high court order to remand a property dispute involving the Bhopal royal family to the trial court. The case concerns assets of the last Nawab of Bhopal, Hamidullah Khan, whose daughter Sajida Sultan —grandmother of film actor Saif Ali Khan— was declared sole heir in 1962. Descendants of the Nawab's elder brothers and other siblings are now contesting the claim. What Does The Plea Say? On Aug 8, the SC bench of Justices P S Narsimha and Atul Chandurkar stayed the MP high court order while issuing notices in an appeal by Omar Faruq Ali and Raashid Ali, descendants of Nawab Obaidullah Khan. Their counsel Aadil Singh Boparai talking to TOI said, "Madhya Pradesh high court, in its June 30 judgment, reaffirmed the principle from the Talat Fatima (Rampur) case that the Nawab's properties should devolve amongst his legal heirs as per Muslim personal law. However, despite upholding this principle, it erroneously remanded the case to the Bhopal trial court for fresh consideration. The current petition before the supreme court challenges the HC judgment to the extent to the remand to the trial court for fresh consideration. " A History Of Judgments In 2019, the Supreme Court set a precedent by ruling that Talat Fatima Rampur's royal property should be divided according to personal law. MP high court had set aside a February 14, 2000, trial court judgment that upheld the exclusive rights of Nawab's daughter Sajida Sultan, her son cricketer late Mansoor Ali Khan and their legal heirs, actor Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Saba Sultan, and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, over the estate. The high court said the trial court's ruling was based on a 1997 Allahabad high court verdict which was later overturned by the supreme court in 2019 and remanded the case back to the trial court for reconsideration. Another Facet Of Dispute There's another twist in the royal property dispute. In 2015, the government vested properties of Abida Sultan, Hamidullah's eldest daughter, because she moved to Pakistan. Her assets in India have been labeled 'enemy property.' "Abida Sultaan was an ex-party in the original 1972 case, (which involved over 20 claimants to Bhopal royal properties)," explained Jabalpur based, Rajesh Kumar Pancholi, former counsel for the Pataudi family. The 2019 Rampur case was important because it said all heirs—including women—should get a share. But Pancholi says that case may not fully apply to Bhopal. Since 1972 many of the Nawab's properties—spread across Bhopal, Sehore, and Raisen—have been sold or are in possession by others.
