Multiple arrests after 'large scale disorder' in Haverfordwest town centre
An operation called 'Project Vigilant' was carried out where police officers in plain clothes disguised themselves as members of the public.
On Saturday August 2, officers patrolled the town with information about suspicious or concerning behaviour.
During the evening, a large scale disorder was attended in Portfield Avenue, which had been reported by a number of people.
Support was provided to local policing teams in dealing with a group of men fighting in the street, and a man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
A driver was dealt with for driving without due care and attention after he was seen driving erratically in the town centre, while another man was issued with a section 59 notice for antisocial driving on Quay Street.
Meaning if found to be driving in an antisocial manner again within 12 months, his vehicle can be seized.
Officers also checked on the welfare of several potentially vulnerable women, this included two 18-year-olds who were found in the company of males in a secluded area.
Officers ensured they were safe, explained the purpose of their work, and gave suitable safeguarding advice.
Elsewhere, a man was arrested for possession of a class A drug after the plain clothed team observed him acting suspiciously.
Detective Sergeant Vinny Barrett, who coordinated the operation, said: 'The aim of Vigilant is to ensure the safety of people primarily on a night out, and to prevent sexual or serious offences from taking place.
'In this case we were looking out for all those out and about in Haverfordwest on a busy evening, and to make sure everyone could enjoy safely.
'Prevention is a hugely important part of policing, and by working in teams of officers who look out for and disrupt potential criminal behaviour we can really make a difference in stopping potential offences before they happen.'

2 dogs recovered from stolen pickup in Massachusetts, suspect accused of trying to sell car
A Massachusetts man is facing multiple charges after police said he stole a pickup truck outside a McDonald's with two dogs inside and then tried to sell the car online. Police were called to a McDonald's on Bridge Street in Weymouth on Thursday afternoon for a report of a stolen vehicle. A woman told police she left her Nissan Frontier unlocked with the keys inside while she went inside to pick up food. Two French bulldogs were in the car when it was stolen. The next day, police said they found the stolen pickup truck for sale online. The posted picture included the car's license plate. Police found the stolen pickup truck at a home on Manley Street in Brockton, with both dogs still inside the hot vehicle. The dogs were checked out by Brockton Animal Control and then released to Weymouth Police. The suspect, 29-year-old Marcus Morse of Brockton, was arrested at the scene. He faces several charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of larceny of property over $1,200, two counts of animal cruelty and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He also had two warrants out of Winchendon District Court and Falmouth District Court. Morse is being held at the Weymouth Police Department and will be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday, August 11. Weymouth is a town on the south shore of Massachusetts about 17 miles south of Boston.

Walker Police: Man holding a knife shot in the arm after charging at officer, BCA investigating
The Walker Police Department in Minnesota says a person holding a knife is in the hospital after charging at an officer, who in turn shot him on Friday, prompting an investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). According to the department, a resident flagged down a Walker, Minnesota police officer just after 6:30 p.m. to report a male who was only wearing boxers and "acting erratically." Nearly simultaneously, the department says a caller reported to the Cass County Sheriff's Office that a male with the same description was in front of a business on Minnesota Avenue and was holding a knife. Additional callers said multiple vehicles, either on or near that street, had punctured tires. A responding officer found the male, who then ran off, starting a chase. Eventually, the male entered a Dollar General store and threatened to kill all the workers who were there, officials say. The officer who ran after him found the male inside the store, but the suspect then allegedly threw items at, and sprayed bug spray at him. The officer reportedly gave multiple commands to drop the knife, and that's when the suspect charged, causing the officer to fire a single shot. The suspect was hit in his left arm, according to the department, which adds the injury isn't believed to be life-threatening, and the shooting was captured on a body camera worn by the officer. The suspect, whose age hasn't been released, was brought to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji. Meanwhile, the officer is on leave for the shooting. The names of both the officer and the suspect are expected to be released at a later time by the BCA.

Georgia police have identified the gunman who opened fire near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention campus and Emory University on Friday, killing a police officer and striking the health agency's buildings in a rapid volley of fire. The suspected gunman, who is now dead, has been identified as 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation revealed Saturday. A DeKalb County police officer was killed in the shooting. Police say the gunman also fired several rounds at the CDC buildings from a CVS across the street. Several windows in the CDC building were shown with bullet holes in the aftermath. No civilians were hurt, officials confirmed. Here's what we know about the suspected gunman and how Friday's shooting unfolded: Police identify the suspected shooter Police identified White as the shooter on Saturday morning. The 30-year-old is from Kennesaw, Georgia, a town about 30 miles from the CDC campus in Atlanta. The suspected gunman was found dead on the second floor of the CVS, though officials don't know 'whether that was from officers or if it was self-inflicted,' Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said Friday.
