Yahoo04-07-2025
Denise Austin just shared a full-body workout video on Instagram.
The 68-year-old demonstrated 'three powerhouse moves' to target the legs, arms, and abs.
These moves can be done anywhere, with or without weights.
If you're wondering how to get toned arms and a strong core like Denise Austin, the fitness expert has you covered. Austin recently demonstrated a full-body toning workout on her Instagram to help her fans stay fit and feel 'energized.'
Summer travels haven't kept Austin from providing her fans with helpful workout videos. 'We're bringing it all together and finishing strong on a HIGH NOTE!' Austin captioned her a recent video. 'We're wrapping up this AMAZING trip with a total body BURN that sculpts your core and tones those arms.' While Austin performs her workout in front of the beautiful Ionian Sea in Sicily, the 68-year-old proves that 'these three powerhouse moves' can be done absolutely anywhere.
'One minute each, grab lightweight dumbbells for some extra burn! That's all it takes to feel ENERGIZED, STRONG, and PROUD of the work you're doing!' Austin continued in her caption. 'You don't need a gym...just a little motivation, a beautiful view (or a smile!), and the commitment to feeling GOOD from the inside out!!! You've got this!! xoxoxo.'
Below, we're breaking down each of the three moves Austin demonstrates in her video tutorial.
The first exercise is a compound movement that targets the arms, legs, and core. Austin begins in a wide forward-facing lunge with her back leg straight and front leg bent, stretching her arms up next to her face. She then brings her back leg up, crunching her knee towards her chest while pulling her elbows towards her hips before stepping her leg back into the starting position and swiftly repeating on the same side. 'This way, you really get the lower tummy,' Austin says. 'Really pull—zip up those abs. Feel it through your tummy, contract the abdominals. Do this for one minute on each side.'
'The second exercise, I want you to squat and twist. This is working [the] legs and waistline,' Austin explains of the next move. She begins with her feet slightly wider than shoulder-width distance apart, with her hands on the back of her head. She then performs a regular squat, but on the way up, she pulls one knee up to about hip level while twisting her core to bring her opposite elbow to the knee. She then returns her foot to the ground while turning her chest forward before quickly repeating on the other side, alternating the working leg with every repetition. 'That's it, you can do it. Sit back and twist. This really boosts the metabolism,' Austin explains.
Austin calls the final exercise a 'tricep toner' as this move works the back of the arms, as well as the legs and core. She begins with her feet together, legs bent, and chest slightly forward before performing an alternating reverse lunge. As she steps one leg backward, she sends both arms behind her, bending only at the elbows. She instructs viewers to 'keep your abs tight' throughout the movement to engage the core.

Pope Leo opts to share papal residence with four associates, breaking with tradition

Pope Leo XIV is shaking up tradition at the Vatican — moving into a newly renovated papal apartment and bringing four roommates, according to reports. Leo plans to share his new residence, which is undergoing a major revamp, marking the first time in modern history that a pope has decided to live communally in the palace's official quarters, The Telegraph reported. "It seems to be new to me," Vatican correspondent Iacopo Scaramuzzi told the UK outlet. "I don't know if that takes account of the long history of the Church, but certainly in the modern era." Among those reportedly joining him is his Peruvian personal secretary, Father Edgard Rimaycuna, who is often seen at Leo's side. A trusted adviser and close friend since the Pope's early pastoral years in South America, Father Edgard is thought of as one of Leo's most loyal companions. "In my opinion, Leo is definitely different to Francis but not that different," Scaramuzzi added. "He is returning to the papal apartments, but not like a king." The shared living arrangement is said to reflect the community ethos of the Augustinians, the order of friars to which Leo belongs. The move also contrasts with Pope Francis, who said no to moving into the papal apartments when he was ordained in 2013, choosing instead for a Vatican guesthouse. The Apostolic Palace, where the apartment lies, dates back to the 15th century and also houses papal offices, museums and the Sistine Chapel. Italian media outlet La Repubblica reported this week that renovations to the apartment are ongoing. The 10-room suite, located on the palace's third floor, has also undergone repairs for water infiltration and humidity after years of disuse. The Vatican has remained "tight-lipped about the latest restructure," according to The Telegraph, though technicians have been at work for months. When Francis died in April, the papal apartments were sealed in a ritual before being reopened for renovation. Since then, Pope Leo has been living in the Sagrestia building near St. Peter's Basilica. This isn't the first time Leo XIV has opted for a modern touch. Born to a working-class immigrant family in Chicago, he grew up modestly before joining the priesthood. In 2024, he told Vatican News that he strives to stay grounded: "A bishop is not supposed to be a little prince sitting in his kingdom, but rather called authentically to be humble, to be close to the people he serves, to walk with them and to suffer with them," he said. Reaction to Leo's move has been mixed online. Earlier this year, author James Martin wrote on X: "We need to trust Pope Leo's discernment in this and all things — and wish him well in his new digs!"

‘The Twisted Tale Of Amanda Knox' Release Schedule—When Do New Episodes Drop?

Hulu's newest true crime show has arrived. Following the success of limited series like 2025's Good American Family and 2022's The Dropout, viewers are now transported to Italy for one of the most infamous real-life murder cases involving an American student abroad: Amanda Knox. The series, which premiered on Aug. 20, stars Grace Van Patten (Nine Perfect Strangers, Tell Me Lies) as the American college student who becomes entangled in a high-profile investigation for the 2007 sexual assault and murder of Meredith Kercher during her study abroad year in Italy. Kercher, a 21-year-old British exchange student and one of Knox's three roommates, was found dead from a knife attack in their shared flat in Perugia, Italy. Knox and her Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, were arrested and imprisoned for the crime. In 2009, both were convicted of the killing — Knox received a 26-year sentence while Sollecito received 25 years. Though the ruling was overturned in 2011, Knox's legal battle was far from over. In 2014, both Knox and Sollecito were reconvicted of murder, which was finally overturned in 2015. The Twisted Tale Of Amanda Knox follows 'the eponymous American college student, who arrives in Italy for her study abroad only to be wrongfully imprisoned for murder weeks later,' the synopsis reads. 'The series traces Amanda's relentless fight to prove her innocence and reclaim her freedom, and examines why authorities and the world stood so firmly in judgment.' Knox serves as an executive producer on the limited series, alongside Monica Lewinsky, Knox's husband, Christopher Robinson and Warren Littlefield (The Handmaid's Tale). 'This is not a show about the worst experience of someone's life,' Knox told The New York Times. 'This is the show of a person's choice to find closure on their own terms and to reclaim a sense of agency in their own life after that agency has been stolen from them.' Amanda Knox And Grace Van Patten Spoke Often While Filming Hulu Series

Grace Van Patten delivers a remarkable performance portraying Amanda Knox in the new Hulu series about Knox's fight against an Italian legal system that believed she was involved in the brutal murder of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, on November 1, 2007. Knox was wrongfully convicted later that year and spent nearly four years in prison for a crime she didn't commit. The American college student was studying abroad in Perugia, Italy, at the time and was convicted alongside her Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, in 2009. They were both fully exonerated by Italy's Supreme Court in 2015. Now, a decade later, Knox is sharing her story in the eight-episode series The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, created by K.J. Steinberg (This Is Us). The show is based on Knox's New York Times bestseller, Waiting to be Heard: A Memoir. In an interview ahead of the August 20 premiere, Van Patten shared her experience portraying Knox. Preparation included numerous conversations in person and over the phone, as well as a crash course in Italian. "There was constant communication, and I was able to ask her as many questions as I possibly could. She was extremely open with me, with anything I wanted to know about, which was so amazing and helpful because my only job was to help people understand her and who she was as a human, not just as a picture on the news with a headline above her face.' Fans recognize and love Van Patten as Lucy Albright in Hulu's Tell Me Lies (season three is coming soon), but this is her first time portraying a real person. Her performance deserves awards consideration; she truly captures Knox's complex range of emotions during this traumatic, life-changing ordeal. The result is a heartfelt, often infuriating story of an innocent young woman who endured a series of injustices by a flawed and corrupt legal system that pressured her into a confession after days of questioning her in a language she wasn't fluent in, with accusations based on tainted and mishandled evidence, all while her story was sensationalized by a cruel media. The truth about Kercher's murder eventually came out, and Rudy Guede was convicted and received a 30-year prison sentence in October 2008, though that sentence was reduced on appeal before he was released early for good behavior in 2021. Guede will be back in court this fall, facing sexual assault and violence charges from a former girlfriend. The limited series is executive-produced by Monica Lewinsky, Warren Littlefield (The Handmaid's Tale), and Knox, who, since her exoneration, has become a respected author of three books, a journalist, activist, and podcaster. Van Patten stars alongside Sharon Horgan, John Hoogenakker, Francesco Acquaroli, Giuseppe De Domenico, and Roberta Mattei. Side note: Van Patten's real-life sister Anna Van Patten portrays Knox's sister Deanna in the series. Van Patten wants viewers to understand how vulnerable Knox was during that time. She was portrayed by the media as a vixen, but in reality, she was a young, naive, innocent woman who had just begun an incredible adventure, only for this nightmare to happen. 'Hopefully, people are reminded while watching this that she was just a 20-year-old girl going through something absolutely unimaginable.' She shared that filming took place in Italy for two months, with the final four months in Budapest. Regarding her Italian language skills before preparing for the role, Van Patten said that she knew only basic Italian. 'I am Italian. My dad pretends to speak a little bit. Now that I know it, I don't think he does,' she laughed. 'I had about two months before we started shooting. I learned as much as I could while learning my lines and knowing what I was saying.' The series highlights how low Knox fell during that time; she was suicidal during her imprisonment. It also shows her incredible strength. When asked to describe her, Van Patten calls Knox resilient. 'She's extremely brave. What I found so beautiful about her was how willing she was to trust me to tell her story after millions of people tried to tell it for her,' Van Patten said. 'Her willingness to trust me to portray her emotions was an honor and made me even more motivated to do it correctly. She's so inspiring to me; her humor, her bravery, and her ability to maintain positivity in moments where it seems unimaginable. I admire her ability to forgive and not hold on to anger. You see all of these things play out through the series, from her life before the tragedy, during her time in prison, and even now. She's still dealing with it, but she has a beautiful mindset. She has tried to regain control and is doing so with empathy.' When asked why she believes Knox was accused of this brutal crime and how the situation spiraled so far out of control, Van Patten paused briefly before responding. 'That is a great question that I hope everyone asks after watching this, because it doesn't make sense. There is no answer. There was no evidence. I think it just highlights the differences in people and perspectives. These older Italian men who were part of the judicial system were not familiar with a person like Amanda. She was a young, free-spirited woman. It was a misunderstanding, and instead of just accepting it as a misunderstanding, they saw it as whatever they saw it as. It was a clash of two different belief systems and views on the world.'
