Turner returns to Revolution on loan from Lyon after transfer to French team from Nottingham Forest
Turner transferred from England's Nottingham Forest to France's Lyon on Friday, then was loaned to the New England Revolution through June 30, 2026, in a deal that gives the Revolution an option to acquire his rights. Turner will be a designated player on the Revolution's roster for the remainder of the 2025 season. He'll be eligible for targeted allocation money in 2026.
Turner left the Revolution for Arsenal ahead of the 2022-23 season
but played in just five Europa League and two FA Cup matches and
transferred to Forest in August 2023
. He
lost the No. 1 spot there
after allowing soft goals against Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal and was loaned for 2024-25 to Crystal Palace, where he played in just one League Cup game and three FA Cup matches — none after March 1.
Turner was displaced
by New York City's Matt Freese as the U.S. goalkeeper for this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup. The 31-year-old Turner became the No. 1 U.S. goalkeeper ahead of the 2022 World Cup and had started 14 consecutive competitive matches for the U.S. and 23 of 24 before the Gold Cup.
Turner will now look to get back to that level in New England, where he made his pro debut in 2016.
He last played for New England in 2022, posting a 53.3% save percentage over five starts.

Lachlan Turner sweeps Women's division for first Loretta Lynn's title
Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha's Lachlan Turner completed her sweep of the Women's division with a Moto 3 victory and secured the Loretta Lynn's Amateur National title in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, but this time around, she had a different challenger in second in Mayla Herrick. Turner had unfinished business in the Loretta's. As the defending Women's Pro Motocross (WMX) champion, no one questioned her skill; however, she had failed to secure a divisional championship in the biggest event of amateur racing. Turner won each moto with dominant gaps over second place. Her victory over Herrick was 41.734 seconds as the eventual runner-up finisher worked her way through a determined field. Turner's overall strength was highlighted by a 19th-place finish earlier in the day in the 250 B Limited class that is dominated by male riders. Dan Beaver, Herrick had a modest start in fifth. It took three laps to get into podium contention and another couple of trips around the circuit to move around Kyleigh Stallings into second. The lead was out of the question by that point, with Turner more than 30 seconds ahead, but Herrick matched the leader's pace during the next three laps before losing significant ground on the final lap. Herrick's second-place finish on Saturday, combined with fourth-place results in the first two motos, placed her third overall in the divisional standings by a tiebreaker over Jordan Jarvis. Stallings swept the podium with second-place finishes in Motos 1 and 2, plus her third-place finish on Saturday. For half of Moto 3, it appeared she might finish second for the third time, and rode in that position until Lap 5. Stallings and Turner will leave Tennessee and head to Indiana for the resumption of the WMX Championship next weekend. Fourth-place finisher Jarvis will join them at Ironman Raceway. She came up one position short of also sweeping the podium. Five was the operative number for Mila Baltyk, who finished fifth in Moto1, Moto 3, and in the overall standings. Baltyk's other finish during the week was sixth in Moto 2. One-match ban leaves England's Packer available for Women's Rugby World Cup opener
LONDON (AP) — Flanker Marlie Packer will be available for England's opening match in the Women's Rugby World Cup after she received a one-match ban on Sunday. Stand-in captain Packer was sent off on Saturday during a 97-7 win over Spain in a World Cup warmup in Leicester. In a ruck clearout, her shoulder targeted and bent the leg of fullback Claudia Pena. Packer didn't accept it was a red card offense at her disciplinary hearing but the panel disagreed and considered the foul play reckless.
