
Waltair Division shines at All India Hindi Drama Competition, gets third prize
Waltair Division represented the East Coast Railway (ECoR) at the prestigious All India Hindi Drama Competition held in Bhusawal recently and the team clinched third place.
Selected and nominated by the ECoR, the Waltair Division drama troupe delivered a captivating performance of the play 'Aakhein', an emotional and thought-provoking depiction of societal behavior. The drama tells the story of a man born blind who, with the help and support of visually impaired beggars, undergoes an eye operation. However, after regaining his sight, he turns unethical towards those who stood by him, highlighting complex human emotions and social dynamics. The powerful narrative was brought to life by a talented nine-member cast whose compelling enactment stole the spotlight and won widespread acclaim from judges and audiences alike. The award was presented by Dharmaveer Meena, General Manager of Central Railway, in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Expressing his pride and congratulations, General Manager East Coast Railway Parmeshwar Funkwal, Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra, ADRM Operations Manoj Kumar Sahoo, ADRM Infra E Santharam, along with other senior officers, extended their best wishes to the team for their remarkable achievement.

In addition to the top honour, the Vijayawada team also swept five individual category awards, demonstrating its all-round dominance: Best Director, Best Lighting, Best Stage Setup, Best Music and Best Sound Effects. ‘Kapiraj' by SCR Vijayawada bags top prize at All India Hindi drama fest
The South Central Railway (SCR) team of the Vijayawada division won first prize at the All India Hindi Drama Competitions, held in Bhusawal for their performance in 'Kapiraj,' a play based on the Ramayana tale of 'Bali and Sugreeva.' The play, performed by a 15-member team, explored the themes of loyalty, betrayal, destiny and justice. Central Railway General Manager Dharmaveer Meena presented the award to the winning team. Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager Narendra A. Patil, in a statement on Monday, congratulated the artists and said: 'This is the third consecutive year the division has won the top honour at the national-level competition.' Additionally, the team also won several individual categories, including best director, lighting, stage setup, music and sound effects
