Let's be honest—most adults have stretched the truth at least once to land a job. But one preschooler may have taken it to the next level.
A recent survey by StandOut-CV of 2,012 U.S. adults revealed that more than three in five respondents (64.2%) admitted to lying on their resume at least once. But resume embellishments aren't just for grown-ups. When Harlyn Brielle was just four years old when she improvised during an acting audition - in a desperate bid to get the role.
Her mom, Bree, 33, recently shared the clip on Instagram (@breenotacomedian), where it quickly went viral, amassing over 1.9 million views.
"We rehearsed the commercial every day for weeks and she did that part perfectly," she told Newsweek. "But when we got to the questions, she had her own agenda."

During the virtual interview, Harlyn was asked whether she could speak any other languages. Without missing a beat, she confidently replied, "Yes," then proceeded to invent her own language on the spot—before wrapping up the impromptu answer by repeatedly saying "gracias" in Spanish.
Bree, who had spent weeks rehearsing the commercial script with Harlyn, was caught completely off guard.
"We rehearsed the commercial every day for weeks and she did that part perfectly," she told Newsweek. "But when we got to the questions, she had her own agenda."
Trying to keep things on track, Bree gently clarified to the interviewer that her daughter could do accents, not speak other languages. But Harlyn wasn't about to let go of her narrative, doubling down on her claim with even more Spanish flair.
Unfortunately, the audition—allegedly for a cereal brand—turned out to be a scam. Bree discovered the red flag when the organizers asked for money.
"When I told Harlyn, her response was, 'No way we're paying them. I'm the star—they should pay me!'" Bree recalled.
Although that particular opportunity didn't pan out, Harlyn, now seven, has since landed a small role in the film Girl in the Closet. Determined to support her daughter's acting ambitions, Bree even created an Instagram page dedicated to her budding career: @harlynbrielle.
"Harlyn is one of those kids where I never know what's going to come out of her mouth," Bree said. "As a Virgo, she's bold, confident, and—if you ask her— she's always right!"
Online audiences seem to agree. The original video, posted on May 6, has garnered more than 165,000 likes and many users can relate to the text layered over the clip.
It says: "When you lie on the job application [and] say you're bilingual to try [and] get the job."
"I checked the bilingual box on an Indeed app and listed 'mildly conversant' on my resume. I got the job and ended up answering phones while googling responses!" resonated one user.
"This is what real confidence looks like. I hope she keeps it forever," complimented another and a third pointed out: "Her mom was just as surprised as we all were."

Nara and Lucky Blue Smith Are Expecting Another Baby—Less Than a Year After Saying They Were ‘Done'
Model and content creator Nara Smith first crossed paths with fellow IMG model Lucky Blue Smith in 2019. Within a year, the two had quietly tied the knot, started a family, and begun building the life that would later turn them into one of TikTok's most recognizable couples. While they've kept many details of their personal lives private, both have occasionally opened up online or in interviews about their relationship, family life, and being in the public eye. Since their wedding in 2020, they've welcomed three children together and amassed a massive following across social media—largely due to Nara's cooking-from-scratch videos, often shot in their home kitchen. Below, a full timeline of their relationship so far. Nara and Lucky met during Milan Fashion Week while both were working as models. Shortly after, Lucky initiated contact by messaging Nara on Instagram. According to the couple, they moved from texting to a seven-hour phone call—and have spoken daily ever since. 'There hasn't been a day since that day that we've not been talking,' Nara shared in an April 2025 Vogue interview. 'I messaged Nara on Instagram, we started texting a little bit, I was very slow at texting,' Lucky revealed in the interview. 'I like to take my time with what I'm going to say.' Nara quipped, 'Five business days?' That fall, they made their relationship public on Instagram. Lucky reportedly proposed to Nara in 2019. Nara later revealed she developed a crush on Lucky years earlier after seeing him appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. 'After we got married I was thinking about our journey and realized that at 15 I saw an Ellen interview with Lucky and had a crush on him but then forgot about it until later 😭,' she wrote in a December 2024 Instagram post. Nara and Lucky got married in a small beach ceremony in California. Nara shared a video from the day captioned, 'I married my best friend today.' The couple welcomed their first daughter, Rumble Honey Smith. Nara shared the news on Instagram with the caption, 'little baby angel Rumble Honey 10/7/20.' Nara gave birth to their second child, a son named Slim Easy. For his birthday the following year, she posted a video of a homemade donut tower to mark the occasion, writing, 'Can't believe how quickly time flies and how I've got a 2-year-old best friend now.' Their third child, daughter Whimsy Lou, was born. Nara announced her arrival on April 11 with a short video captioned, 'Our little angel has arrived!' The couple said they are not planning to have more children. 'Yep, I'm done,' Nara said in a GQ video, echoing Lucky's sentiment. They explained that while they originally envisioned a larger family, three children now feels like the right number. Nara and Lucky attended the Ralph Lauren Spring 2025 show in the Hamptons as part of New York Fashion Week. Lucky walked the runway, and the couple shared a few moments on camera together. Around the same time, they revealed plans to move to the East Coast, explaining in a TikTok video that they're hoping to settle somewhere quieter with more space for gardening and raising their family. Nara posted a throwback clip of Lucky's 2019 proposal to mark their five-year engagement anniversary. In the caption, she reflected on how their life has unfolded since, writing, 'I wish I could tell 18-year-old me just how beautiful life would become.' Nara and Lucky revealed they are expecting their fourth child. In a reel posted to Instagram and TikTok, Nara approached Lucky in a flowing cream blouse and skirt before gently cradling her growing baby bump. Lucky placed a hand on her stomach and kissed it as they smiled toward the camera. 'Our little surprise,' she wrote in the caption, adding 'baby 4 loading...' over the video. The announcement came nearly a year after the couple said they were done having children. They've yet to share how far along Nara is or the baby's gender. This story will be updated.

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A golden retriever named Smith who has two separate reactions to each of his owners returning home left the internet in stitches. In a June 3 video posted to TikTok by @ a couple returned home to Smith. The dog's mom wanted to capture what happens when each one comes home, as the pup has extremely different reactions to both of his humans. She opened the door to Smith waiting front and center, wagging his tail. While he's excited to see her, Smith is used to her being home. She told Newsweek via TikTok that she works from home and spends nearly all day with him, minus the times she'll run out for quick errands. The TikTok video continues to show how a whole new set of emotions overcame Smith when he got one quick whiff of dad's scent. The dog sprinted out the door, forgetting all about mom, who was still petting his head. His tail sped up at the sight of dad. Bracing for impact, the dad placed his bag on the ground. Smith proceeded to jump up and down, smothering him with kisses. Meanwhile, the mom stood and watched Smith's over-the-top way of greeting his dad. She said she's accepted the fact that this is how it normally goes with Smith's reactions to them coming home. She doesn't fault him, noting she knows she gets more time with Smith than her husband. As the video's caption reads, "No offense, mom!" this owner knows it's nothing personal. "...When I come home from running out quickly, it's not anything exciting," she said. "But when his dad comes home from work every night, it's like a reunion every time!"
