In real-time, Marlena says John is the kindest, most gentle man she has ever known. He will always be the great love of her life.
Hospital: Hope tells Ciara Alice and Shawn Douglas she is not leaving Bo until he opens his eyes. Hope tells her children how she has been talking to Bo everyday for two years and would love him to wake up so he would tell her to shut up. Shawn D said he constantly reads to his father which reminds them how he read to them when they were children.
Flashback: Bo tells little Shawn Douglas a story.
In real-time, Bo begins to move, and Shawn Douglas runs to get a doctor. The doctor checks on Bo and says it appears his conditions are unchanged. That being said, she encourages them to continue to talk to Bo as it can only do him good. Hope leans in and tells Bo she knows he is trying to tell them something. Shawn D and Ciara think maybe Bo is dreaming. Hope says Bo has always done things his own way – a rebel. Ciara and Shawn D rib each other about how their own rebellious streaks. Hope wonders, had he lived, if Zack would have followed suit.
Comatose Land: Bo finds his way back into the Brady Pub and sees Zack behind the counter. He wonders what Zack is doing there and then realizes he doesn't know where he actually is. They establish they aren't in Salem and Bo says it reminds him of a dream he had once where they were together with Hope in a place bathed in white. Bo wants to hug him but Zack says he can't because he doesn't want him to get so attached. He isn't supposed to be there.
Hospital: Bo's heart rate begins to increase and Hope believes he's being impacted by the family stories.
Flashback: Bo and Hope's extensive love story.
In real-time, Hope says their life has been every bit the adventure he promised her.
Comatose Land: Zack says Bo's place is with his family. Bo thinks Zack needs him to as he never had the chance to watch him grow up (When he called Zack 'tiny man' I almost lost it). Zack says he has been surrounded by family and notes Grandpa Shawn and Grandma Caroline say hello. Bo wants to stay but Zack says he has to make a decision soon. He says he will be waiting for him there when it is his time to go. Bo wonders if it is his time when suddenly he sees Hope, Shawn Douglas and Ciara Alice beckoning him home.

Flashback: Bo and Hope's extensive love story (That shot of Shawn Douglas' birth is iconic).
In real-time, Hope grabs Bo's hand and says she thinks the trip down memory lane might be upsetting him. Shawn Douglas notes not all the memories are pleasant, including losing Zack. He thinks it would be important to his father to remember Zack.
Comatose Land: Shawn Douglas tells Bo he's been napping for the better part of a decade. Bo worries about leaving Zack and then finds him on the other side of the bar, embracing his family. Hope reminds Bo he has a choice to make. Bo thinks maybe it's time to realize he's where he belongs. Hope says it's his responsibility to fight his way back to them.
In real-time, Bo's vital signs begin to go haywire. Shawn Douglas and Ciara Alice run to get the doctor as Hope yells for them to hurry.
University Hospital – John's Room: Steve and Kayla arrive to see John. Soon afterwards, a nurse arrives to administer his morphine drip. Steve continues saying Rafe has left them in the lurch and John needs to return to put the 'Black' back in Black Patch. He can't believe they've been partners for over a decade.
Flashback: Steve asking John to go into business together. John thinks they need to bring Bo on board, but Steve says they should wait until they are up and running. John thinks they should call their firm, 'Black Patch.'
In real-time, Steve says John has been laying on the hero stuff kind of thick, lately. Kayla thinks they will soon need to erect a John Black statue in Horton Square (I wonder if we will be getting a John Black statue). Marlena is cool with that as long as he is still around to be with his family.
Flashback: John introduces Belle to her big brother, Brady.
In real-time, Marlena is in tears and says she knows his family has always been his priority. Marlena worries if she gets John home, he won't be entirely safe. She recalls being a bit too aggressive with him the night of their first wedding.
Flashback: John and Marlena's first wedding (with THAT dress!).
In real-time, John's machines begin to go haywire, and he says he can't breathe. Kayla runs to grab a specialist to help get John's breathing under control. As he has trouble breathing, Marlena lies beside John and breathes with him (Steve and Kayla in the background are killing me).
A desperate Marlena asks Kayla if there's anything they can do. Kayla says John's lungs are so damaged. She's not asking her to give up hope but wants her to know they could be running out of time. Kayla thinks maybe they should call a priest.
Kayla returns having called the priest. Marlena has collected herself a bit and asks for some time alone with her beloved. Before they leave, Kayla thanks John for everything and a distraught Steve can barely speak before he exits.
Marlena tells John how much she loves him, and he says, 'I love you, Doc.' She tells John how brave he has been but knows he is weary and suffering. Marlena says, 'if you need to go, it's ok.' She tells John she and the children will survive on the love he has given them and will always have him in their memories. Marlena tells John it's ok for him to rest now.
Endings
Steve breaks down as Kayla tells him John's body is shutting down and it's just a matter of time. She embraces him and they weep together.
Marlena cuddles next to John on the hospital bed as she thinks back to moment from their love story. John's voice narrates the memories saying he promises to love her until the day he dies. In real-time, John flatlines and Marlena pulls him to her.
Bo opens his eyes, sees Hope and calls her Fancy Face.

Days of Our Lives Recap: How Does Cat Know Sami?
Days of Our Lives Recap: How Does Cat Know Sami? originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: The Spectator: Chad arrives as Leo works on John Black's obituary. Leo suddenly remembers today is the day of Chad's skydiving date with Cat. He is terrified which sends Leo into one of his stories, which does Chad no good. They discuss the feelings Cat had for Chad and Leo wonders if she's still holding on to hope. He suggests Chad cancel the date for both their sakes. Leo is on the phone with the copy editor talking about the integrity of his work when Jack walks in and gets snarky. Leo says a lot has changed since Jack has been gone. He is now a legitimate journalist. Jack knows and says Leo is doing a good job with his work. Leo is thrilled by the compliment and Jack notes he is quite the asset to the paper. The mood changes when Jack says Leo's mother must be proud. Jack knows Diana has changed so much since she sold him The Spectator. Leo stops him as he remembers Jack blackmailed his mother into the 'sale.' Jack smiles as he knows Leo speaks the truth. He wonders if Diana knows her son is a reporter at the paper which was once hers. Leo thought about going by the prison to tell his mother about John but can't deal with the drama and abuse. Jack recalls Diana making him think John was his father. Leo says he should have known a man like John couldn't have been his father. Jack says they are not defined by their parents. It takes courage to change, and Jack says he has it in droves. Leo thanks Jack for his kind words. Before he leaves, he asks if Jack has heard from Gwen. They both admit they haven't, and Jack seems genuinely pained she is still in the wind. Leo leaves a message for Marlena to say how sorry he is about John's passing. Just then, young Douglas arrives. Leo says he's had no time to track down Julie's necklace. Doug says he's had no luck with Melinda. That being said, the necklace is the least of his problems as his life is imploding. Hernandez House: Gabi finds a distraught Arianna Grace not eating her food. She just can't get over the death of her Grandpa John. She just saw her dad who is not thrilled with her living under the same roof as Leo Stark. Arianna goes on to say how strange and kind of sweet it is that Leo keeps giving her Celine Dion cds, as if she ever owned a cd player. Gabi just thinks he is trying to make an effort. Gabi brings up her daughter's disappearing act and the two begin to fight. Just then, Rafe returns and embraces his niece. Rafe has returned early from FBI training to attend John's funeral. Arianna Grace leaves and Gabi fills Rafe in on her daughter's shenanigans. He thinks she's making a mountain out of a mole hill. Gabi worries she no longer knows her own daughter. With that, Rafe embraces his sister. They switch to talking about Rafe's new job which leads him to mention the stolen memory stick. He reminds his sister that the memory stick would most likely reveal EJ's shooter. Gabi thinks it's obvious Leo is the culprit. Rafe wonders what Leo has to gain from stealing the memory stick. Gabi thinks it's obviously a tool for blackmail. Rafe gets it but wonders why he isn't using it and is still pointing the finger at her. He thinks Leo is actually telling the truth, especially since he now fancies himself an investigative reporter. Gabi admits he probably couldn't pass up revealing the shooter in print. Rafe thinks it's time for him to tell Jada about the memory stick. Gabi worries he's not ready for that confrontation. He says this evidence is way more important than their relationship issues. He asks Gabi if she is 100% certain there is nothing that would incriminate her on the memory stick. Brady Pub: Young Douglas is on the phone with the loan shark goons because he has missed two payments. Just then, Holly arrives followed by Arianna Grace. Doug freaks out and heads back behind the bar. Arianna heads to the bar to get flirty with Doug when Holly approaches and hugs Arianna. Doug freaks out a bit as he realizes the two women in his life are very familiar with one another. Arianna Grace explains she returned home recently which turned out to be good timing as her grandfather just passed away. Holly freaks out when she realizes she's talking about John. Very quickly, she excuses herself and makes her exit. Young Douglas makes the connection in Holly and Arianna Grace's ages and questions how they met in a bar. She says she has a fake idea and then he nervously makes sure she is actually of legal age. He heaves a sigh of relief when he learns they slept together the night of her birthday. She says she would really like to see him again and Doug is totally on board. Outside, someone takes a picture of their encounter. With that, she makes her exit and Doug takes a 30-minute break. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Tate answers the door and doesn't recognize Cat. She introduces herself as Marlena's assistant. He knows all about her as Aaron is his bestie. She tries to explain but Tate says it's water under the bridge. Cat says how wonderful Marlena has been to her and wants to show her support. Just then, she sees a picture of Samantha Gene and notes just how familiar she seems. Cat crosses to the photograph and Tate says she is his Aunt Sami. Cat says maybe she just reminds her of someone else. She then sees a picture of John and she says they were in Poplar Bluff at the same time. She always wanted to thank him for helping with their mother and grandmother's escape. Tate notes he was a hero to a lot of people. Tate gets choked up and excuses himself. Left alone, Cat pulls the picture of John off the mantle and says how sorry she is. Tate is looking at a picture of his grandfather when Holly arrives. She says she just heard and embraces him. Holly wanted to make certain he was ok as she still cares about him. Tate is confused as he thought she was pretty cozy with young Douglas. Holly says they are just friends. He apologizes for what he did to Doug and says he misses her. Holly says his father sort of told her the same. The truth is she really missed him, too. Just then, Tate gets a text from Sophia who is on her way over. Horton House: Julie is ordering flowers or Marlea when Jack and Jennifer Rose arrive home. She embraces them both but wishes they hadn't returned for another sad occasion. Jack notes they have some good news to celebrate, and they discuss Bo's recovery. Jack decides to run over to The Spectator and heads out. Julie and Jennifer Rose take a seat. JRo asks how she's doing. Julie says her grief counseling with Marlena was going well until her wedding anniversary rolled around and Bo was dying and now, they've lost John. She has now begun to feel the grief all over again. JRo wants to support her, and Julie says how grateful she is for their arrival. Julie and JRo catch up on young Douglas and how she kicked him out. Julie says Doug was no angel himself, but he never lied to her. They chat about the necklace and JRo says she is using all of her contacts to try and locate the necklace. Just then, Julie gets a notification and says she promised Marlena she would pick up her dry cleaning before the funeral. She hates to leave JRo and says Chad will be home soon if he survived his skydiving date with Cat. JRo is rightfully surprised and annoyed by this turn of events. Horton Square: Cat and Chad meet up. She doesn't want him to do anything with which he is uncomfortable and is cool if he wants to back out. Chad says he is totally in as he thinks they should do something every day that scares them. They get all kinds of adorably cute with one another as they prepare to make the jump. Kat says after her accident she was in a deep depression and going skydiving made her feel alive again (I had totally forgotten about the accident. I wonder if that's the connection to Sami). Endings Tate apologizes saying they have a labor and delivery tour at the hospital. He asks Holly if they could continue their conversation another time. She agrees and they exchange kind words before she exits. Young Douglas tells Leo everything about Arianna Grace and Holly, as well as the loan shark who continues to harass him. Leo gets real and says he can pursue two women at the same time as long as they don't find out. Further, he needs to find a way to make some quick money as loan sharks are no joke. A photographer watches Arianna Grace and continues to take pictures. Gabi admits to going to the DiMera estate the night of the shooting but promises she didn't even see EJ that night. She only heard him arguing with someone. She wonders if the shooter actually broke into their home and took the evidence. Cat says they should head over to the airfield but Chad is stuck, until she pulls him away. Jennier Rose is furious about the Cat and Chad situation when Jack returns. Boy Scout building warning kiosks at beach where boy drowned in Conneaut
CONNEAUT, Ohio (WJW) – An aspiring Eagle Scout in Ashtabula County, who was upset about the drowning of a young boy in Lake Erie one year ago, has poured his heart and soul into a project to save lives on the lake. It was on June 7, 2024, that a family from Summit County was enjoying a day at the beach at Township Park in Conneaut, unaware that a warning had been issued for dangerous rip currents on the lake. Hunter Ebie, 11, was wading in shallow water near the shore when he was swept away by the currents and his mother nearly drowned as she tried to save him. Red Cross honors bus driver who saved kids from fire After an exhaustive search, Hunter's body was found four days later. John Repasky, 16, and his mother watched as the tragedy unfolded. They say it was heartbreaking, but they were also angry and disappointed that Ebie's family did not know about the danger they were in. 'I felt very upset with how there's just not information that can help people with that, the currents on the lake, and I felt that something needed to change,' John said on Thursday. 'It was devastating,' his mother, Bri Repasky, added. 'I didn't know there was a warning either and I live here, but I also know that when you pull up and waters are rough and they look like that, it's not safe.' John decided to launch a crusade to improve safety at the lakefront park. At a public meeting in Conneaut three days after the drowning, he told the audience, 'this has happened at least once per year and I believe that many of us can agree that it needs to stop.' John is a Boy Scout. As part of his project to become an Eagle Scout, he raised funds to building a series of kiosks that will be placed along the beach. The kiosks are designed to warn visitors about dangerous currents and provide QR codes to access current weather conditions and information about CPR. The project is designed to prevent tragedies like the death of Ebie. 'It always brings at a least a bit of a tear to my eye, and that's why we're naming this whole thing the 'Hunter Project,'' John said. 'I am incredibly proud of him. Anytime someone can turn a tragedy into something that helps others and saves lives, it is impressive,' his mother said. Aaron Rodgers coming to AFC North: reports Until John got involved, the only warning provided to visitors to the beach at Township Park were signs that read, 'no lifeguard in this area, swim at your own risk.' After the teen began his campaign to prevent the loss of life, the park board decided to add life preservers along the beach. Some Conneaut residents are calling the decision the 'John Repasky effect.' He calls it the 'Hunter Ebie effect.' 'If I could save just one life or go one year without somebody drowning, that would be the greatest success I've had so far in my life,' he said. John's new warning kiosks will be unveiled in a ceremony at the Lakefront Park on June 21. Among those attending will be Elbie's family. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Law & Order: Organized Crime Recap: After a Death in the Family, Will Stabler Turn to the Dark Side?
The Stabler family tragedy some of us feared upon seeing the title of the Season 5 finale — 'He Was a Stabler' — comes to pass in the season's penultimate episode this week: Joe Jr. dies after being shot during a drug bust gone wrong. The youngest Stabler brother dies in Elliot's arms, setting the bereft detective on a path that is potentially illegal and definitely immoral. Olivia Benson, take the wheel! (No, seriously, can you please show up next week to set your boy straight?) More from TVLine Jeopardy! Masters Finale Crowns Season 3 Winner: Was Victoria Groce Dethroned? How to Watch Love Island: USA Season 7 Online Days of Our Lives Reveals John Black's Tragic Fate, Eight Months After Actor Drake Hogestyn's Death Read on for the highlights of 'Off the Books.' EMERY KNOWS |Early in the episode, Emery lets Joe know that he's very aware of the youngest Stabler brother's contact with Elliot. So he makes sure Joe is present when Emery has his thug kill a man who reneged on a deal. The unspoken message: Fear my wrath. On Emery's orders, Joe trashes the place afterward, but makes sure to leave a little clue for his brother before he goes. Det. McKenna is first on the scene and finds the foil-wrapped packet of drugs Joe placed at the scene. While McKenna doesn't know the ins and out of Joe's involvement, he knows enough to call Elliot to let him know what they found. The substance is something brand new, and when Det. Tanner gets wind that McKenna gave Stabler a heads-up, she wants to know why. Oh, and she also informs him that they're now working the case together. Stabler makes reference to his confidential informant being on the inside of whatever's going down, but when she presses him for more information, he's squirrelly. Eventually he lets her know that his CI is his brother, and I'm grateful for her very important reminder that THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA. Law & Order: SVU Season 27: Everything We Know So Far View List WHO'S USING WHOM? | Joe calls Elliot to give him a heads-up about a big drug deal that's about to go down, but after they get off the phone, we see that Emery is forcing Joe to feed his brother misinformation. There is, indeed, a drug operation at the address Joe gives Elliot. But when the New York Police Department rolls in to shut it all down, it's not quite the huge deal Joe implied. Tanner quickly realizes that Emery used them to take out his biggest competition in selling the new drug, and as much as Elliot doesn't want to admit it, it seems like his brother is playing him. 'COME HOME' | Meanwhile, Randall finds out that Joe called Elliot — thanks, Kathleen — and storms down to the office to yell that he's having premonitions that something bad is going to happen to their little brother. Elliot lets him know that Joe is back in town, and tasks him with telling Joe to call Elliot the next time he rings Bernie's cell. Randall does as instructed, which leads to Elliot and Joe having a rooftop meet-up. Joe gives El the location where Emery is going to seal a gigantic drug deal the next day. El gives Joe a medallion — likely the same one Bunny gave him in the season premiere, no? — and says that Bernie wanted him to have it. Joe desperately wants his mother to know he's clean, but Elliot reassures him that she never knew he was using heroin in the first place. They hug before they part, with Elliot telling his brother, 'Come home.' GOODBYE, JOE | Thing is, Joe lied to Elliot to keep the cops away from where the deal is actually going down, in a whole different borough. But ANOTHER thing is, Elliot is a lot smarter than his Guy Fieri-haired sibling. And when the cops creep in with a caravan of backup, Emery figures out that Joe's new medallion has a tracker on the back of it. An incensed Emery, Joe and Emery's thug make a run for it; Elliot is desperately searching the warehouse when he gets a call from Emery. The rich Brit, who has a gun on Joe, offers a deal: 'Remove the APB on me,' which will allow him to leave town unencumbered, 'or he dies.' Stabler stammers that he'll work on the situation, but as a helicopter circles overhead, it's too late. Emery hangs up, and Stabler hears a gunshot in the vicinity soon after. He runs to find Emery gone and Joe bleeding out from a gunshot wound to the chest. 'I mailed it,' the younger Stabler gasps, blood trickling from his lips, as Elliot pulls him close and begs him to stick around because 'Mama's been waiting for you.' But things are going downhill very quickly. 'Tell her I was clean,' Joe whispers, then he's gone. Elliot puts his face very close to his little brother's and sobs. 'LET'S GO FOR A RIDE' | Later, Stabler breaks down again when another officer asks if he moved the body. 'I held him,' Elliot barely gets out, crying as he looks down at Joe's blood on his hands. Tanner arrives and sits with him, telling him to go be with his family. We watch (but do not hear) as a montage shows him telling Randall and Kathleen. (But not Eli and Becky? Or BERNIE?) Then Stabler pulls his car into an alley where McKenna is waiting for him… with Emery's thug tied up in the trunk. 'I was going to book him, but then I heard about your brother. So, we can take him in, or we can go for a ride,' McKenna says. He's barely done speaking when Stabler makes his choice: 'Let's go for a ride.' Now it's your turn. Will you miss Joe?
