Indiana Jones dev working on multiple games but is it Wolfenstein 3 and Quake?

Some suspect the studio's already working on an Indiana Jones sequel (Bethesda)
MachineGames' latest financial report mentions plans for multiple projects and what might just be Wolfenstein 3.
It's difficult to be enthusiastic about Xbox's gaming prospects after another brutal wave of layoffs has seen hundreds of its employees out of work and several projects cancelled.
Some of Microsoft's internal studios have escaped relatively unscathed, though. Case in point: MachineGames, the Swedish studio responsible for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle.
The lack of official information about the layoffs means there's no telling how badly MachineGames was impacted, if it was at all, but a recent financials report from the studio suggests it has more than one game currently in development.
Spotted and shared by Timur222 on Bluesky, the report covers MachineGames' 2024 fiscal year, which runs from January 2024 to December 2024, and by all accounts it seems to have been a successful one.
Net sales were higher than the year before, with MachineGames generating roughly 428 million SEK (about £33 million) compared to the approximately 350 million SEK in 2023.
As a result, the studio turned higher profits than both its 2023 and 2022 financial years, with a net profit of about 26 million SEK (about £2 million). You can view the results here and on the surface, they sound good – although who knows whether the higher-ups at Microsoft see it that way.

In an attached management report, MachineGames says: 'With new exciting projects in development, MachineGames is optimistic about the future for both the company and the industry as a whole.'
You'll note they say projects, in the plural, which would seem to mean at least two, even though there's no official word on what any of them are – but there are plenty of theories.
The most likely is a Quake reboot, which MachineGames has been hinting about for years and even seemed to be teased during the marketing for The Great Circle.
Not only have MachineGames staff openly talked about wanting to reboot the Quake series, which was originally created by id Software, but they've already contributed new expansions to the remasters of Quake 1 and Quake 2.
There's been less hints about another Wolfenstein game but the original plan was for a trilogy. However, the limited commerical success of Wolfenstein 2 seemed to put a stop to that – or at least delay it significantly.
Back in 2018, Pete Hines – the then vice president of PR and marketing, at publisher and owner Bethesda – confirmed a Wolfenstein 3 was on the table.
Hines retired from the company in 2023, but that doesn't necessarily mean plans have changed and that same year MachineGames posted a new job listing for someone with a passion for 'first person immersive games' and a 'strong familiarity with MachineGames' titles.'
Considering the more recent success of the Indiana Jones game, MachineGames is more likely to be preparing for a sequel. Some believe this has already been hinted at by a recent job listing for a senior concept artist at the studio.
However, the listing makes no mention of working with the Indiana Jones brand, with the only hint being that applicants need 'experience working in the game and/or film industry.'
Aside from being optional, the studio's request for film industry experience doesn't necessarily mean it's for another Indy project and could just as easily apply to any other game with cinematic style presentation.
It may also be too early for MachineGames to have started development on a second Indiana Jones game, as it's yet to release The Great Circle's DLC story expansion.
As a reminder, the expansion is dubbed The Order Of The Giants and is scheduled to launch across all platforms on September 4.
How about we wait till the DLC's come and gone before asking for new Indy game (Bethesda)

The Nintendo Switch 2 is the closest thing to a modern day Commodore Amiga

A reader celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Commodore Amiga and suggests that the Switch 2 is its closest current equivalent. It's been a lot of fun to see the love for the Commodore Amiga this week, which I had no idea was 40 years old. As has been pointed out, probably nobody outside of Europe either knows or cares about it now but to me it was the most important games format when I was kid. Which is to say it's what I had, and I couldn't afford a Mega Drive or SNES. Or rather I couldn't afford their games. Amiga games were a lot cheaper (and, well, you know) and they also seemed a lot more varied. To my eyes the vast majority of console games were just platformers of one kind or another. I never even heard of Zelda or Final Fantasy until the PlayStation era and while we never got anything as good as Sonic the Hedgehog on the Amiga I can honestly say I wasn't that bothered. On the Amiga we had all kinds of crazy things, and lots of 3D games and games made in Europe and the UK which never appeared anywhere else. But as soon as consoles took over everything was made in Japan or the US and we've never really gone back from that, even with modern indie gaming on the PC. PlayStation and Xbox aren't interested in anything but a small number of games from a small number of publishers. Heck, the whole point of Xbox is Microsoft wanted to make American companies dominate the games industry, so I can't say I'm too upset that didn't work out. Thinking about what the modern equivalent of the Amiga is I guess you'd have to say it's the PC, but it doesn't feel that way to me. It's too unfocused and you have to use Steam to get anything out of it, which is very American focused. Weirdly it's the Nintendo Switch 2 which feels the closest to the Amiga to me, assuming it works out similar to the original Switch. Although the fact that it has a mouse by default already increases the comparisons, so I hope it makes good use of that. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. But it's really just how strange and varied all the games are, with no first person shooters or sad dad story games so far, just the crazy Mario Kart and Donkey Kong games and the promise that future games will be as weird as the Switch line-up was. Especially as Drag X Drive even looks a bit like Speedball 2. It's not just Nintendo though but all the other, smaller Japanese developers that they encourage. Companies I'm sure probably wouldn't still be going if it wasn't for the Switch. Games are too expensive to make on PlayStation and Xbox now, for small companies, but the Switch is low-powered enough that it's still possible. I'm not saying these sort of games aren't on the PlayStation as well, but there's not as many and they're certainly not as high profile. You'd never get Sony highlighting them in their equivalent of a Nintendo Direct. I guess what I'm getting at is that gaming seemed a lot less corporate and more unpredictable in the Amiga days and now that I'm older I can see why things like where the games are made and how much they cost to make (and so how much risk they can afford to take) affect that. Chloe Kelly had first date with husband at IKEA after simple act of kindness sparked love

Lioness star Chloe Kelly met her husband in passing when a small act of kindness sparked a connection - and the pair shared their first date at IKEA The Lionesses are poised to take on the world champs, Spain, in the UEFA Women's Euro Final 2025 - and Chloe Kelly's husband will likely be supporting her every step of the way through the big game. ‌ The final, which is taking place in Basel, Switzerland, comes after two nail-biting last-minute wins from the England Women's team in the quarter and semi finals. ‌ Chloe, 27, who secured England's win at the Euro 2022 tournament with the winning goal, has been with her husband Scott Moore for a long time - but when the pair first crossed paths, it was a small act of kindness from the star player that caught Scott's attention. ‌ Chloe Kelly admits 'I haven't bought a wedding anniversary card' amid Euro focus Michelle Agyemang's journey from ball girl to England hero with 'world at her feet' She was playing for Everton when she first met Scott - who was, at the time, a groundsman at the club, Hello reports. Chloe graciously held a door open for Scott at the club, and a connection quickly sparked. He is said to have later messaged her on Instagram and the pair arranged their very first date - a trip to IKEA. ‌ While the Swedish furniture retailer might not immediately seem like a romantic spot to go on a first date - although lots of people do swear by the meatballs - the shopping trip clearly worked its magic, and the couple have been together ever since. In 2023, Scott popped the big question to Chloe while they were on a trip to Finland, to see the Northern Lights - a much more traditionally romantic setting. Under the green skies of the aurora, Chloe didn't hesitate to agree to marry her long-time partner, and when she posted on Instagram about the proposal, she captioned the image: "The easiest YES. Here's to forever with you." ‌ Scott now works as a greenkeeper for a golf club, and while he generally stays out of the spotlight, he always attends his wife's important fixtures - making sure to cheer her on The pair tied the knot at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire in 2024, after being together for five years. ‌ Chloe wore a stunning, figure-hugging bridal gown by Galia Lahav - with a dramatic train offsetting the fitted style of dress that was embellished with intricate lace embroidery. "Creating Chloe's dress was a labour of love, capturing her vibrant spirit and timeless beauty," the designer, Sharon Sever, said, per The Sun. During the major tournament this year, Scott and Chloe's anniversary took place, but the footplayer admitted she had been so busy with the Lioness's campaign to take home the trophy again this year that celebrating one year as husband and wife had slipped her mind. "I haven't even got a card, to be honest," Chloe said, "I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something nd get my mum to sort it."
