Chloe Kelly had first date with husband at IKEA after simple act of kindness sparked love

Lioness star Chloe Kelly met her husband in passing when a small act of kindness sparked a connection - and the pair shared their first date at IKEA
The Lionesses are poised to take on the world champs, Spain, in the UEFA Women's Euro Final 2025 - and Chloe Kelly's husband will likely be supporting her every step of the way through the big game.

The final, which is taking place in Basel, Switzerland, comes after two nail-biting last-minute wins from the England Women's team in the quarter and semi finals.

Chloe, 27, who secured England's win at the Euro 2022 tournament with the winning goal, has been with her husband Scott Moore for a long time - but when the pair first crossed paths, it was a small act of kindness from the star player that caught Scott's attention.

She was playing for Everton when she first met Scott - who was, at the time, a groundsman at the club, Hello reports.
Chloe graciously held a door open for Scott at the club, and a connection quickly sparked. He is said to have later messaged her on Instagram and the pair arranged their very first date - a trip to IKEA.

While the Swedish furniture retailer might not immediately seem like a romantic spot to go on a first date - although lots of people do swear by the meatballs - the shopping trip clearly worked its magic, and the couple have been together ever since.
In 2023, Scott popped the big question to Chloe while they were on a trip to Finland, to see the Northern Lights - a much more traditionally romantic setting.
Under the green skies of the aurora, Chloe didn't hesitate to agree to marry her long-time partner, and when she posted on Instagram about the proposal, she captioned the image: "The easiest YES. Here's to forever with you."

Scott now works as a greenkeeper for a golf club, and while he generally stays out of the spotlight, he always attends his wife's important fixtures - making sure to cheer her on
The pair tied the knot at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire in 2024, after being together for five years.

Chloe wore a stunning, figure-hugging bridal gown by Galia Lahav - with a dramatic train offsetting the fitted style of dress that was embellished with intricate lace embroidery.
"Creating Chloe's dress was a labour of love, capturing her vibrant spirit and timeless beauty," the designer, Sharon Sever, said, per The Sun.
During the major tournament this year, Scott and Chloe's anniversary took place, but the footplayer admitted she had been so busy with the Lioness's campaign to take home the trophy again this year that celebrating one year as husband and wife had slipped her mind.
"I haven't even got a card, to be honest," Chloe said, "I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something nd get my mum to sort it."

Viktor Gyokeres' ex-team-mate doesn't hold back after Arsenal transfer saga – 'Unnecessary'

Viktor Gyokeres finally secured a £63.7million move to Arsenal from Sporting CP, but his move to London was far from plain sailing, with one former team-mate glad to see the back of the saga Pedro Goncalves admits he's glad to see the back of the "unnecessary" transfer saga between Arsenal and Sporting CP over Viktor Gyokeres. Having played his part in helping the Lions secure a Primeira Liga and Taca de Portugal double last season with 54 goals across all competitions, Gyokeres had interest from a number of Premier League clubs. ‌ While Manchester United and Arsenal were initially thought to be in a two-horse race for the Swedish striker, Gyokeres made it clear the Emirates Stadium was his destination of choice, pushing hard for a transfer to the north Londoners. ‌ When talks between the two clubs began to stall due to Arsenal looking to secure the 27-year-old for less than his £67.7million valuation, Gyokeres opted to ditch pre-season training and go on strike in an attempt to move things along. He felt Sporting had U-turned on their gentleman's agreement that they would not stand in his way to join an elite club this summer for a pre-agreed price. ‌ Gyokeres' actions appeared to have little impact on club president Frederico Varandas, who insisted that strike action would not change Sporting CP's stance. He told Lusa at the time: "We're calm. Everything can be solved with the closure of the market, a hefty fine and an apology to the group. If they don't want to pay Viktor's fair market value, we'll be very comfortable with that for the next three years. "If the geniuses who are devising this strategy think that this puts pressure on me to make it easier for him to leave, not only are they completely wrong, but they are also making it more complicated for the player to leave. No one is above the interests of the club. Whoever they are." Thankfully for Arsenal, they were ultimately able to agree a deal with the Portuguese giants in the end, forking out £63.7m to secure Gyokeres on a five-year contract. And while Goncalves is sad to see his team-mate part ways with Sporting, he is overjoyed that the dramatic transfer saga full of twists and turns has finally come to an end. In an interview with O Jogo, the 27-year-old said: "I wasn't hurt. I wished him the best of luck. I said, 'Finally'. This whole thing wasn't necessary, in my opinion... but that's football. ‌ "I wished him the best of luck, and he said thank you. And that's it. He had to leave, and others came." Meanwhile, Sporting CP head coach Rui Borges also gave his own take on Gyokeres' recent departure, echoing many of the sentiments that Goncalves shared. He said: "I haven't spoken yet, but I may speak to thank everyone for everything. "Hurt? No. Honestly, I wasn't hurt. That's football. It's part of football. There are arrivals and departures. We have to know how to deal with it. We have to readjust all the time. He was a very important player, not only this season. ‌ "I wish him the best of luck in the world, he marked an era in our football. He will be missed in his own way. We will have other players. We will continue to be competitive. Players come and go, but the club remains. Others will come in and become great and better and better." Sporting have wasted little time in spending the funds that they received in their multi-million pound sale of Gyokeres, signing UD Almeria's Luis Suarez as they look to ensure they have a proven No. 9 primed and ready for the new season. ‌ The Colombian impressed in the Segunda Division last term, scoring 27 goals and creating eight assists for his side, and many fans will be eager to see how he makes the transition to Liga Portugal. Speaking about Sporting's new acquisition, Borges added: "I believe he will also make his mark on Sporting in some way and that he will help us to remain strong and victorious. He is different from Viktor, but I believe he will be important." Gyokeres comes as the latest in a wealth of signings made by Arsenal this summer, joining the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke as a new arrival. However, it appears as though Mikel Arteta isn't done quite yet in strengthening his squad ahead of the new Premier League season. The Gunners are still hunting Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze. While the attacking midfielder, who provided eight goals and assists a-piece in the Premier League last season, has an £68m release clause in his contract, it is thought Arsenal are trying to broker a deal at around the £60m mark. Man Utd problem position deepens for Ruben Amorim despite transfer being agreed

Ruben Amorim has worked tirelessly to improve his Manchester United squad this summer ahead of the new season, but the Red Devils haven't been able to secure every player they've been after Manchester United have been told that Nick Pope is not for sale this summer, despite Newcastle United being on the brink of signing Aaron Ramsdale. The Red Devils have been linked with a number of shot-stoppers, as Andre Onana 's future is up in the air, despite the fact they only signed him from Inter Milan two years ago in a £47.2million deal. ‌ The 29-year-old from Cameroon has made 101 appearances for United over the past two years. But he has only managed to keep 25 clean sheets, conceding 148 goals in total. ‌ The Red Devils are said to have enquired about AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan at the start of the transfer window, only for the 30-year-old to reportedly rebuff the move. An audacious loan move for Aston Villa No. 1 Emiliano Martinez was also made, however, hopes of an agreement there were quickly quashed, with Villa only considering an exceptional offer for the 2022 World Cup winner. ‌ Now, it appears as though United are eager to bring in Newcastle keeper Pope, according to talkSPORT, given his future as a starter at St James' Park is now in doubt. The Carabao Cup winners are closing in on Southampton 's Ramsdale, with the Magpies having agreed a loan deal with an option to buy for the 27-year-old. Ramsdale travelled to Tyneside for a medical on Wednesday, as Newcastle look to bring in fresh talent to challenge Pope for his spot in the team. Despite speculation the England international will look to leave the north east this summer, with Manchester United a potential landing spot, Sky Sports report that Newcastle have no intention of selling him. It is said Eddie Howe is looking for someone to compete with Pope rather than replace him, on account of his admirable performances at St. James' Park since his arrival in 2022. Despite a deal nearing completion between Newcastle and Southampton, Ramsdale wasn't the Magpies' first-choice in terms of competition for their current No. 1. Newcastle prioritised Burnley 's James Trafford for much of the window, even submitting a £31m bid for the 22-year-old who impressed in the Championship last term. However, due to a buyback clause that Manchester City inserted into their deal with Burnley when they sold him to the Clarets for £15m in 2023, Pep Guardiola's team were instead able to clinch him for £27m. ‌ Pope was in goal for most of Newcastle United's 1-0 pre-season friendly loss to the K-League XI at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on Wednesday, with Kim Jin-Kyu slotting home the winner after 36 minutes. Joe Willock's worrying looking injury late on is just another issue for the club to deal with. On top of failing to play a full-strength team for the clash, Newcastle could yet lose talisman Alexander Isak, who is open to parting ways with the club. The Swedish striker wants to explore his options elsewhere, and Liverpool seems the most likely move for Isak, but no agreement has been reached between the clubs as of yet. Elsewhere, the Red Devils have heavily relied on Altay Bayindir for their own pre-season endeavours, with Onana sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained in training earlier this summer. The 27-year-old impressed during United's 0-0 clash with Leeds earlier this month, before also playing a major part in the Red Devils' 2-1 win over West Ham on Sunday. He is also expected to start during United's game with Bournemouth at Soldier Field on Thursday, with kick off at 2.30am UK time. Whether United will continue their endeavours of looking at the prospect of signing Pope after the emergence of Newcastle's firm stance remains to be seen. But the right price could turn heads given he is in the last 12 months of his contract.
