Football legend Roy Keane to become grandfather for the fourth time
Roy Keane is to become a grandfather for the fourth time.
Only months after the former Ireland captain announced he had become a grandfather for a third time, his daughter Leah revealed that she is expecting.
Leah, who is engaged to England international and former Man City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, posted a montage of short videos on Instagram that she entitled 'half of me half of you'.
The couple share the happy news
The clips feature the couple holding a baby scan photo and walking on a beach while Leah poses with her baby bump.
People rushed offer their congratulations with one writing: 'Ahhh!! so happy for you both, Leah.'
Roy and his wife of 28 years, Theresa share five children.
Their first child was their daughter Shannon, followed by another daughter, Caragh, a son, Aidan, and then two more daughters, Leah and Alanna.
In April the commentator, and former footballer and manager, posted the happy news to his 2.3m followers on social media that he had become a grandad for the third time.
The 54-year-old Corkonian shared a picture of himself holding the new born baby on his Instagram, with a caption: "My new grandson, big baby.'
Fans congratulated Roy on becoming a grandfather yet again in the comments, while also referencing the former coach's famous quotes from his sports commentary.
They were engaged in Italy last year
Social media users have mentioned the interview from two years ago when Mr Keane called Liverpool's Andy Robertson a 'big baby'.
While speaking in the Sky Sports studio after a Premier League match between Liverpool and Arsenal in 2023, Mr Keane said: "I said at half time: 'Robertson, what a baby. What a big baby. Just get on with the game. Baby.''
The fans were also referencing an interview from ten years ago, when Roy Keane was speaking to reporters at a media briefing about Robbie Keane's availability.
When asked if Robbie Keane will be available, he asked: 'Why wouldn't he be?'
Upon learning that the player's wife just had a baby, Mr Keane said: "Yeah, but he didn't have a baby, did he? Unless he's breastfeeding, he should be alright.'
Keane also marked his 54th birthday recently with his three grandchildren playing in the pool and on the beach.
The former Man Utd man got some time to relax on his big day as he posted pictures on his Instagram of him floating on a Lilo in a pool under the sun.
'Happy Birthday to me. All the gifts I need,' he wrote.
'Wishing a very happy birthday to United legend, Roy Keane', wrote Manchester United on social media, with the Ireland football account posting 'Sending birthday wishes to the one & only, Roy Keane.'

Leah and Taylor's relationship was kept relatively quiet, until Leah herself posted a picture of Harwood-Bellis proposing at the Amalfi Coast in Italy on Instagram last summer. She wrote: 'I can't wait to marry you.'
When Harwood-Bellis scored on his senior debut for the Three Lions against Keane's Republic of Ireland, his future father-in-law was on punditry duty for ITV.
Responding to the goal, he said: "Bittersweet for me, this.'
He then joked: "It [the wedding] is not done and dusted yet! Things can change very quickly in the Keane household.'

Roy Keane 'put a marker down' after fellow cruise guests harassed female DJ
Roy Keane has told how he needed to '"lay down a marker" after a group of passengers began harassing a female DJ while on a holiday cruise this summer. Keane was appearing on the first episode of the new season of Stick to Football, and when asked by Jill Scott how he enjoyed his break, Keane revealed that he was almost called into action while on a cruise with his wife Theresa. "I've had a great summer. No tournaments, bit of a break. I went on a cruise and really enjoyed that. "I did (get annoyed on) the first night. I put a marker down on the first night to a few people. They weren't coming up to me but they were just being rude to other people. "They were just being rude to other people, rude to the woman playing the music and getting aggro with her and I stepped in. Listen lads calm down, this is a nice boat remember. "But these lads, about four of them who were about the same age as me, maybe a bit older, they were being really rude to this woman DJ and manhandling her. "And I just went over to them and went, 'Lads just calm down,' so I sat down and four of them came across ready to… 'But no I didn't have them, it didn't kick off but it was pretty close." When Gary Neville remarked that it sounded like Keane was ready for the new season, the Corkman replied in jest saying: "It's like a pre-season game, Charity Shield, studs down the back of somebody. "They were still annoying the rest of the week but I kept my distance. "A few nights later I saw them having a few words with this other guy. "I went over to support him a little bit, but it wasn't as bad as I'm kind of making out." Away from the cruise, Keane looked as though he had a wonderful summer. Last week, he shared a series of photos on his Instagram account of him spending his 54th birthday on holidays surrounded by his children and grandchildren. The Manchester United legend is gearing up for another season as a pundit with Sky Sports, but his family life is also about to get much busier as his daughter, Leah, announced this week that she was expecting a baby with her fiancée, England international and Southampton ace Taylor Harwood Bellis. Keane's third grandchild, a baby boy, was born in April. To celebrate his arrival, Keane posted an adorable snap of the pair on Instagram with the caption "My new grandson, big baby," in reference to one of his most memorable punditry moments.

Arsenal files: Awkward Sky Sports moment in press conference and how Mikel Arteta even helps his players sleep
ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta got a surprise ahead of his pre-match press conference for Sunday's opening game at Manchester United. Arteta probably thought he was the one catching people off-guard today by arriving for his presser six minutes early. 8 Mikel Arteta was caught off-guard by Sky Sports at his press conference 8 Arteta was greeted by an Arsenal balloon, before being serenaded with a poem Advertisement But Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill had other plans. First, he revealed an Arsenal balloon and then used a party blower to make a sound. And then he said: 'I've got a little first question in the form of a new season poem.' Arteta replied: 'Okay, go on.' Advertisement READ MORE IN FOOTBALL FEELING BLUE Emotional Chelsea legend Petr Cech splits from wife after 26 years Cotterill added: 'Arsenal are red, United are too. It's Sky's biggest Premier League season ever. We're excited. Are you?' And then, we were off. Arteta replied: 'I'm super excited. I can't wait. "It's been a really productive pre-season. We made such an evolution in the squad as well, and we're ready to go.' And I have no doubt that Wilshere will be a huge success providing he picks the right EFL club and then eventually, will manage in the Premier League. How Mikel Arteta even helps his players sleep 8 Jack Wilshere is not returning as an Arsenal youth coach Credit: Getty 8 He is looking to progress as a manager after a spell at Norwich Credit: Getty Advertisement We should not forget that Wilshere, having quit the game early due to injury, is just 33, so is two years younger than Jordan Henderson. Sunsport revealed earlier this month that Wilshere was a leading candidate to take charge of Arsenal's under-21s with Mehmet Ali having joined Brentford's first-team coaching staff. In July 2022, four days after announcing his retirement from playing, the former England midfielder was announced as the new head coach of Arsenal under-18s and he led them to the final of the 2022-23 FA Youth Cup final. He then left Arsenal last October to take over as first-team coach at Carrow Road and was then interim boss for the last two games of the season before departing. Determined to get back into the game, he was interviewed for the Plymouth manager's job in June but it was given to Tom Cleverley. Advertisement Wilshere was clearly interested in the Arsenal under-21s job but the offer changed with Max Porter, having worked in the club's academy since 2017, being earmarked for that role. Arsenal wanted Wilshere to manage Arsenal's under-19s in the Uefa Youth League and also the EFL Trophy while supporting the under21s. Yet Wilshere, understandably, appeared to feel this job was not a satisfactory progression from his previous Arsenal role. The fact he has overseen the progression of Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman shows you his qualities as a coach. Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri have both spoken about Wilshere being a good influence and he would talk to them in the canteen about how to act off the pitch. He is currently taking his Uefa Pro Licence along with experienced managers Dave Challinor and Gareth Ainsworth along with a number of young coaches. Each year, the FA asks a few of us journalists to attend sessions at St George's Park to deliver media training with the coaches taking their UEFA Pro Licence, the top coaching qualification. The likes of Wilshere, so used to dealing with the media, do not really need to do these pretend press conferences where we test the interviewees in fake scenarios. Advertisement Equally, though, some of the coaches taking their badges have never come across the media before so the training is important. Speaking to Wilshere after the session, where he revealed he was training for the London Marathon, he spoke with passion about coaching and seemed really focused. In terms of media training, Arsenal used to do something similar with their young players. I remember one day when the club asked me to speak to some of their youngsters at London Colney, the club were hoping Wilshere would be present but he was unable to make it. He had to play a cup tie for Bolton, where he was on loan. However, during the session, there was a young player who seemed incredibly bright and really inquisitive. Advertisement I asked who this confident youngster was. The Arsenal press officer told me: 'He is from Poland. His name is Wojciech.' Szczesny has also gone on to have a great career and while Wilshere's was cut short through no fault of his own, I am sure he has many years left in the game as a manager. 8 Arsenal fans will be treated to chartered trains for away games Credit: Getty TRAINING DAY FAIR play to Arsenal for going old school as they plan to lay on chartered trains for some away games this season. This is because fans will find it difficult to get home from some games using public transport. ART OF THE NAP MIKEL ARTETA isn't sleeping on the job in north London. That's because the Arsenal boss has hired a specialist to help his stars maximise the effectiveness of their snoozes. Arteta believes sleep is the key to recovery after a tough match. 8 Arteta has hired a sleep specialist to help his players nap better Credit: Getty Advertisement He felt a specialist was needed to educate staff and players at Arsenal on the benefits of a solid kip. Arteta told Men in Blazers: 'I have a specialist, I brought one in many years ago. Not just for myself but for the staff and players because it's sleep… 'We have so much education on diet, what to eat, when to eat, what is healthy or unhealthy, but with sleep there's still not enough education. 'For me it is the most fundamental part of the quality of your health.' With sleep at the forefront of Arsenal's plans for the season, maybe they should rename their beloved dinosaur mascot 'Gunnersnore-us'...

'It's a chance for him to revive his career' - Leeds sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin
LEEDS UNITED HAVE signed former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer as the newly-promoted club gear up for their Premier League campaign. Calvert-Lewin left Everton at the end of last season and has agreed a move to Elland Road just days before Leeds open their top-flight campaign against his former team. The 28-year-old scored 71 goals in 273 games across nine years at Everton but injuries stalled his career in recent seasons. Calvert-Lewin will not be included for Monday's meeting with Everton, but Leeds boss Daniel Farke expects the striker to make a significant contribution to their survival bid. Advertisement 'Dominic is a proven Premier League player. It's important for all new signings, we want to sign players who have delivered on a top level, but they are also in a good age, on their way up the hill, not the way down,' he said. 'These boxes are all ticked by Dominic.' 'He has all the skills you'd like your striker to have. 'His last few seasons were a bit interrupted by injury, but he still managed to play 26 games last season. 'It's a chance for him to revive his career and reach former heights when he was outstanding at Premier League level.' Calvert-Lewin made the last of his 11 England appearances against Ukraine in 2021 in the European Championship quarter-finals and has scored four goals for his country. 'It is like walking in today like a first day at school,' Calvert-Lewin said of his move to Leeds. 'I feel like a kid again that is just starting somewhere new and just can't wait to play.' – © AFP 2025
