Results, points after Brickyard 400 as Bubba Wallace earns first NASCAR crown jewel win
Surviving two overtime restarts after the race went past its scheduled distance because of a red flag for rain, Wallace beat Kyle Larson by 0.222 seconds for his third career victory. It was his first win since Kansas Speedway in September 2022, snapping a 100-race winless streak.
The 23XI Racing driver's first victory at Indy came in his fifth start on the 2.5-mile oval. His previous best Brickyard finish was a third in September 2019.

Wallace led three times for 23 laps.
Denny Hamlin finished third, followed by Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski.
With the win, Wallace moved off the provisional cut line for the playoffs. Chris Buescher now leads Preece by 42 points for the final spot.
Chase Elliott, who finished 13th, held onto his lead in the regular-season standings by four points over Hendrick Motorsports teammate Wiliam Byron, who was 16th.

Rams NT Poona Ford is making a big splash in training camp: 'Force to be reckoned with'
After giving up an average of 4.6 yards per carry last season, the Los Angeles Rams sought to improve their run defense this offseason. They struggled badly against the run, ranking 22nd in yards allowed and 26th in yards per carry – in part because they gave up so many long runs to opposing backs. They landed on Poona Ford in free agency, a journeyman nose tackle who played for the Seahawks, Bills and Chargers in the last three years. Having improved steadily throughout his career, the Rams saw potential in the 29-year-old and gave him a three-year, $27.6 million contract. Ford has yet to take a regular-season snap for Los Angeles but he's already making a splash on defense. Kobie Turner has raved about him this summer, as have Sean McVay and Chris Shula, heaping praise on his ability to not only stop the run, but also generate pressure on the quarterback. Quentin Lake joined the 'Poona Praise Party' after practice Tuesday and talked about how impressive Ford has been in practice. 'Yeah, Poona Ford. Man, Poona,' Lake said when asked if anyone has stood out against the run, 'I know Kobie talked about it when he was at the podium – as advertised. I'll say it again, as advertised, but a great addition. You just bring in guys not only that fit the culture but that just have an elite ability to do certain things. Poona is just a force to be reckoned with in the trenches. He's done a great job of meshing with the defense, great personality, great teammate, but that was one of the areas of emphasis from last year that we wanted to focus on this year. How can we do better against the run? How can we be in different coverages or personnel groups to be able to shut it down? Because as you guys know, we have a great pass rush. Anybody can see that, but how can we stop those early downs so that we have more opportunities to rush the passer? Bringing in guys like that helps us do that a lot.' Ford has gotten a chance to really shine the last two days with the pads on, stepping up against the run now that he can be more physical at the line of scrimmage. He's helped the Rams improve in an area where they struggled last season, replacing Bobby Brown III as the starting nose tackle and he's already proving to be an upgrade. In the video below, you can see Keir Thomas get quick penetration to force a cutback, but it was Ford right there to clean it up. Davante Adams got a lot of attention as the Rams' big fish in free agency, but the addition of Ford is sure to have a major impact on defense. Inserting him between Braden Fiske and Kobie Turner is a recipe for success, especially with all the blockers Jared Verse and Byron Young are bound to draw on the edge. It's early, but the returns on Ford have been unquestionably positive.

Illinois Tool Works lifts 2025 profit forecast betting on price hikes
(Reuters) -Illinois Tool Works lifted the low end of its annual profit forecast range on Wednesday, as it expects pricing actions on its industrial equipment to cushion the impact of tariffs. U.S. President Donald Trump's expansive tariffs have driven up costs of raw materials, including steel and aluminum, squeezing margins for industrial equipment makers and forcing them to raise prices to offset the impact. Illinois Tool Works said in May that localized production, flexible operations and a diversified business mix have helped it navigate economic uncertainty. The company, which supplies components and fasteners to major clients including Ford and BMW, is capitalizing on the rapid growth of the automotive sectors. The automotive OEM segment was the biggest contributor to overall revenue with $845 million, followed by the test and electronics segment with $686 million. Illinois Tool Works now expects 2025 profit to be in the range of $10.35 to $10.55 per share, compared with its prior projection of $10.15 to $10.55 per share. It also lifted full-year its revenue growth forecast range to between 1% and 3%, from 0% to 2%. The company said its on-going pricing actions are projected to offset tariff cost impacts and current foreign exchange rates. The industrial company posted second-quarter operating revenue of $4.05 billion, compared with analysts' average estimate of $4.02 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. Corvette Z06 Discounts Are Growing as Dealer Lots Fill Up
Not too long ago, the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was one of the most anticipated cars in America. It aimed to take on European heavyweights like the McLaren 750S and Porsche 911 GT3 at a fraction of the price. With its mid-mounted flat-plane V8, it wasn't a traditional Corvette, but it still held to its performance roots. Now, things have shifted. More than 1,700 Z06s are sitting unsold on Chevrolet lots across North America, and the discounts are starting to show. When the Z06 launched, demand far outpaced supply. People were willing to pay handsomely over MSRP to get one. But clearly, that buzz hasn't lasted. Interest shifted once GM showed off the top-of-the-range Corvette ZR1 and the hybrid ZR1X. Suddenly, once interested buyers, or even those who ordered a Z06, started jumping ship. But who can blame them? While the Z06 has a naturally aspirated V8 with 670 hp, the ZR1's twin-turbocharged V8 makes 1,067 hp. That's not even to mention the ZR1X that benefits from 1,250 hp. With supply building up and fewer takers, dealers are starting to feel the pressure. Ironically, once highly sought-after Z06s are now selling below sticker. Using Chevrolet's online inventory tool, we found 3,678 C8 Corvettes currently for sale in North America. Out of that total, 1,701 are Z06s, which is more than twice the number of E-Rays available. In some cases, these Z06s are being discounted by over $10,000. For example, Clark Chevrolet in Texas has a 2025 Corvette Z06 1LZ listed for $109,209 – $12,000 lower than its MSRP. If you've been contemplating pulling the trigger on a Z06, now might be your moment. After all, it is still one of the best bang-for-your-buck performance cars money can buy, rivaling exotics that cost more than double its price. The Z06 might not be the hot ticket it once was, especially with the ZR1 in the picture, but that's not a bad thing for enthusiasts. For the first time since launch, you can walk into a dealer, pick your perfect spec, and buy one without feeling swindled.
