Multi-mile chase ends with three arrests, multiple traffic charges in Glynn County
According to the Glynn County Police Department, the incident started when Officer Jones attempted to stop a car exiting I-95 at Spur 25.
The driver, Zhonae Scott, failed to comply and began a pursuit that traveled through many areas of Glynn County.

The Glynn County Police Department says a male passenger in the backseat threw a handgun from the car in the College Park Subdivision, which officers soon recovered.
The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) took over the pursuit as the lead agency. A GSP trooper performed a PIT maneuver on the suspect's car.
The driver soon lost control and collided with a Georgia Power traffic light pole after attempting to turn right onto Glyndale Drive from GA 27, police say.
Georgia Power inspected the damaged utility pole and secured a low-hanging power line.

All three people in the car were arrested at the scene. Here is what they are charged with:
Scott faces charges related to fleeing and traffic violations
The male passenger, Harrison Gibbons, a convicted felon, faces charges related to firearms violations for throwing the gun from the car
Second passenger, Alyssa Gonzalez, was charged with possession of Schedule II narcotics

911 call released in Franklin Township, N.J. double murder-suicide
A chilling 911 call was released Monday in the Franklin Township, New Jersey double murder-suicide from earlier this month. Police say Sgt. Ricardo Santos shot and killed former girlfriend Lauren Semanchik, 33, and her new boyfriend, firefighter Tyler Webb, 29, on Aug. 2, before turning the gun on himself. A neighbor says on the recording she heard gunshots and screams. "I just heard a bunch of gunshots and it sounded very loud," a woman said. "It's not on this property. I just heard it from this property, um, and I heard some screaming." Prosecutors say officers responded to the scene but then left, and the bodies were discovered the next day by Semanchik's father. Semanchik's family claims Santos stalked her, and says she tried to get a restraining order, but police never called her back. "She tried to block him many times and he continued to call her from restricted numbers. He showed up at her work, that's where the car was keyed. He put recording devices in her home, water in her gas tank. He harassed her left and right," Semanchik's sister, Deanna, said. Semanchik was a veterinarian, and Webb was a member of the Pinewald Pioneer Volunteer Fire Company. As a result of the shootings, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office placed Franklin Township Police Chief Timothy Snyder and Sgt. Kevin Bollaro on administrative leave, and appointed Hunterdon County Police Capt. Paul Approvato as interim officer-in-charge. CBS News New York has been unable to get a comment from Franklin Township police.

Member of pro-Palestinian group arrested for vandalism at Massachusetts State House
An Everett man associated with a radical group targeting prominent government buildings is facing charges after the Massachusetts State House in Boston was vandalized with paint last month. Jeremaiah Yusuf Sawaqed, 25, of Everett, was arrested Thursday and arraigned in Boston Municipal Court. Sawaqed was charged with vandalism and destruction of property, vandalizing a war or veterans memorial and possession, transportation or use of a hoax device or substance. Detectives say the 25-year-old is part of a group called the Direct-Action Movement for Palestinian Liberation (DAMPL), which investigators consider an extreme anti-Zionist organization that endorses violent resistance. For weeks, investigators have been trying to track down the vandal behind the destruction at the Massachusetts State House in July that left white paint splattered all over the stairs and pillars and the George Washington Statue in Boston Public Garden in June. In the George Washington Statue vandalism, detectives say he was seen on surveillance video, with distinctive clothing, throwing white paint. Police say the statue was also defaced with red spray painted pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas messages. During the State House vandalism, investigators said they followed white paint footprints believed to be Sawaqed's and found two explosive devices planted in Boston Common where families, children and tourists go. Detectives say they connected a social media post to Sawaqed's IP address and cellphone which said, "This morning, the Direct-Action Movement for Palestinian Liberation targeted the Massachusetts State House with paint mixed with feces and lit homemade flares on its gates..." Intelligence agencies from New York and Toronto had been looking into the suspect, saying Sawaqed made a concerning social media post stating, "In order to bring forth the change that you are demanding and calling for, you must bring forth the disruption and disturbances by hindering the entrances into these capitols, into these city halls, municipal buildings." They tipped off Federal officials in Boston about Sawaqed. Police said Sawaqed was also suspected of being behind vandalism at MIT in July. Bail was set at $30,000.

Four people shot at apartment complex on Detroit's east side, police say
Four people were shot, including one person in self-defense, at an apartment complex Monday night on Detroit's east side. The shooting happened at Sheridan Place in the 7500 block of E. Jefferson Avenue. Police said a group was outside having a barbecue, and there was an argument about the volume of the music. Police said the gunman wounded three people in their early 60s and late 70s. One of the people shot was able to tackle the man and bring him to the ground, causing him to drop his gun. Police said a good Samaritan grabbed the gun and shot the suspect in self-defense. All four people are in stable condition. An investigation is ongoing.
