Robbie Williams finally addresses secret Glastonbury performance rumours
Robbie Williams has finally confirmed if he is performing at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival after whipping fans in to a frenzy of excitement. The 51-year-old pop icon had seemingly suggested he could be one of the secret performers to attend the festival this year.
Glastonbury is known for allowing top performers to take to the stage without their presence being previously announced. Acts and performers have even taken to the stage under fake names in order to surprise the thousands of music fans at the annual event.
In 2023, the Foo Fighters performed on the Pyramid Stage - taking fans by surprise by being billed as a band called The Churnups. While the 2025 festival is seen performances by Lorde and Lewis Capaldi who sang for fans without previously being advertised as performers at the festival.
On Saturday, a band known as Patchwork are expected to perform on one of the stages - but this group is expected to be a pseudonym for a major performer. And fans have questioned if Robbie could be the star expected to take to the stage.
On Friday, he teased fans by hinting he might perform at the festival as he shared a photo of a plaque at Glastonbury recalling his appearance there in 1995. The plaque read: "1995. Robbie Williams entered this area without accreditation, authorisation or alignment with prevailing taste.
"His presence was uninvited, unofficial and ultimately inevitable." He shared the image via social media with a simple caption stating: "30 years later…"
He also shared a photo of a fence with a message reading "Welcome to Glastonbury," and changed his profile photo to a throwback image of himself at the event wearing a red-and-white tracksuit.
Despite all the teasing, Rob confirmed he would not actually be performing over the weekend. He took to Instagram Stories to admit he would not take to the stage.
Leaving some fans crushed, he wrote: "I'm not performing this year. If you are there, go and see The 1975, Busta Rhymes, Self Esteem, Charli XCX and Reverend and the Makers."
Sir Rod Stewart is one of the stars performing at the festival this year and previously shared his excitement about playing the festival. He will play the teatime Legend's Slot on Sunday - a titled that he isn't overly thrilled about.
He told the BBC: "I just wish they wouldn't call it the tea time slot. That sounds like pipe and slippers, doesn't it?" However, he went on to tease fans what to expect when he takes to the stage.
He said: "Usually I do well over two hours so there's still a load of songs we won't be able to do. But we've been working at it.
"I'm not gonna make any announcements between songs. I'll do one number, shout 'next', and go straight into the next one. I'm going to get in as many songs I can."
The singer explained that he usually plays for over two hours when he is on tour and that Glastonbury organisers initially offered him only 75 minutes for his slot - but he was able to negotiate this up to 90 minutes instead.

Noel Gallagher's daughter Anais shares Oasis snap after enjoying concert with Peggy
Music fans flocked to Croke Park in Dublin to watch Oasis take to the stage - with lead singer Noel Gallagher's daughter, Anaïs Gallaghe, among the electric crowds Anaïs Gallagher had a marvellous time watching her father performing on stage at one of Oasis's hugely successful reunion tour gigs. The 25-year-old model and photographer is the daughter of 58-year-old Noel Gallagher and his ex-wife Meg Mathews, 59. And she looked very proud of her old pops as she joined tens of thousands of other music lovers at Croke Park, Dublin, over the weekend. Singing along in the crowd, Anaïs belted out the classic Oasis track, Live Forever, and shared footage of herself via Instagram Stories. She then uploaded a snap of her dad alongside her 52-year-old uncle Liam Gallagher, as they sang on stage to the delight of Oasis fans. Saturday night marked the first of two nights for the boys performing at the iconic Irish venue. It comes after her cousin Lennon skipped the Dublin shows and headed to Ibiza with his girlfriend. Noel looked focused as he performed on stage, and with Anaïs adding a heart hand emoji over her snap. Saturday's gig proved to be quite the family affair, as Liam and Noel's mother, Peggy, also travelled to Ireland to see the chart-topping band perform again. Liam even dedicated the performance of Stand By Me to his mum, telling the audience: "This one I want to dedicate to my mum, my mum is here tonight." The singer later dedicated Roll With It to the people of Charlestown, Co Mayo, where his mother hails from. Mid-song, he turned to the upper tiers where she was expected to have been sitting and blew kisses as he mouthed: 'I love you.' Peggy, 92, had previously discussed her plan to attend the Oasis Live'25 tour but avoided the all-standing Manchester shows that took place previously. Heading to Ireland, she could see her sons on stage from the comfort of a box when they played in Dublin. In an interview in June, Peggy was asked if she had anything to do with the reunion between Noel and Liam. She said: "I was the instigator, yes. But sure, wasn't it always going to happen at some time or other? It was their choice, of course. Look, you can't force them to do things they don't want to do." She confessed she was relieved to see her sons working together again, following a years-long rift between the two. "It's great, because nobody wants their kids falling out, do they?" she said, although she admitted to being nervous about the shows and would be "glad when it's all just over because it makes me get too stressed." Peggy has been spending time with both Noel and Liam in the run-up to the live tour, and was on holiday with Liam and his partner Debbie in the South of France earlier in the year when Liam was on vocal rest. Speaking in the Sunday Times in 2019, Liam said: "Any good that comes out of me is all from Peggy and all her sisters and brothers Oasis fans were stunned last year when brothers Liam and Noel confirmed they had buried the hatchet and would be touring for the first time since 2009. The brothers spectacularly fell out live on stage at the time and previously vowed never to perform together again. But the Oasis Live '25 Tour has been a smash hit - with critics and fans alike applauding the band for performing better than ever before. The Dublin gigs have been praised by fans, with Croke Park's doors opening again at 5pm on Sunday night for a second round of hits. First support act, Cast, were due to take to the stage at 6pm, followed by Richard Ashcroft at 7pm. Oasis, will walk out at 8.15pm on the dot, with the concert finishing at 10:15pm. Songs on the set list include Some Might Say, Supersonic, and Champagne Supernova.

Teletubbies' Tinky Winky star's tragic death after being found in unusual circumstances
The actor who played Tinky Winky in the beloved children's TV show, Simon Shelton Barnes, died in heartbreaking circumstances back in 2018, aged only 52 years old Ever since it first aired, children's TV show Teletubbies has been a firm favourite with kids throughout the country. The legacy of the characters Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, and Po was so strong that the show was rebooted in 2014 by CBeebies, due to the popularity of the original first five seasons that ran from 1997 and 2001. But the hit show was suddenly marred by heartbreak in 2018, when one of the actors who held the role of Tinky Winky in the first run of the show tragically died. Simon Shelton Barnes had just moved to the Wirral, nearly 200 miles away from his previous home in Bedfordshire, looking for a fresh start. But within weeks, he was found dead on a street in Liverpool. The trained dancer and choreographer reportedly had struggles with alcohol and had hoped that this big move to the other side of the country would get him away from some of the distractions he had found rife living near London. Close pal Jane Rees reportedly said that Simon had been struggling living away from his three kids, who were the centre of his life. And Stephen's flatmate Judith said at the time about his tragic death, "I'm very floored at losing him, he was just the best company." An inquest found that Stephen had died from hypothermia after going on a night out in January 2018. He was found with a "high concentration of alcohol" and froze to death on the wintery streets on 17 January, with the coroner ruling it was likely a combination of the alcohol in his system and the 3C temperature that had caused him to tragically lose his life aged just 52 years old. He was discovered "at the Port of Liverpool Building in a well between the building and street," just after 7 am. His former Teletubbies co-star, John Summit, paid tribute to him after the heartbreaking news broke, with the actor who played Dipsy writing on social media, "What a week! RIP Simon Shelton aka Tinky Winky: remembering the many good times. Rest easy." TV stars Emily Atak and Robert Dawes were family members of Stephen's - who had a "medical history of alcohol dependence" and both of them made devastating tributes to the actor after his death. Robert said, "It's been a very tough week and we are all trying to look after the family as best we can." Emily movingly paid tribute to her "wonderful uncle" by saying he was "the kindest and most talented man you could ever wish to meet," adding that he was "loved by all who knew him, and will be forever". Simon previously said about his major role as Tinky Winky, "We used to receive a lot of fan mail from kind and parents, I suppose we were a bit like The Beatles or Take That of children's television." Tinky Winky's orientation was also a question levied at Simon over the years. "People always ask me if Tinky Winky is gay," he said. "But the character is supposed to be a three-year-old so the question is really quite silly."
