Trump announces initial economic agreement with China
Washington – Saba:
US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he had reached a preliminary agreement with China, under which rare earths will be imported from Beijing.
Trump said that the agreement with China includes the placement of Chinese students in American universities, confirming that his country will receive a total tariff of 55%, while China will receive 10%, according to Sputnik News Agency.
China and the United States recently agreed to completely eliminate tariffs on each other's goods for an initial period of 90 days, a surprising achievement that has boosted global markets.
Under the agreement, the United States will temporarily reduce its tariffs on Chinese goods from 145% to 30%, while China will reduce its tariffs on US imports from 125% to 10%, according to the joint statement.
The Chinese and American sides agreed to establish a mechanism to continue economic and trade talks. The Chinese side will be represented by Vice Premier He Lifeng, while the American side will be represented by Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Trade Representative Jameson Greer.
The meetings will alternate between China and the United States, or in a third country agreed upon by both sides, with the possibility of holding technical consultations at the working-level on related issues.
The dispute over trade tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on China, which reached 145%, and China's retaliation by raising its tariffs on American products by 125%, has sparked warnings of a trade war between the two countries that would have negative repercussions on the global economy.

The Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced this morning, Thursday, a complete outage of internet and landlines communications services in the Gaza Strip after the last main fiber route was targeted. The Authority said in a statement that the Israeli enemy is escalating digital isolation as a result of systematic targeting of infrastructure, despite repeated attempts to repair severed and alternative routes. It noted that the southern and central Gaza Strip are joining the isolation suffered by the northern Gaza Strip for the second consecutive day. The authority warned that the continued outage threatens to completely cut off the Gaza Strip from the world and impacts relief, health, media, and educational services. It explained that the Israeli enemy has been preventing technical crews from reaching fault sites or repairing cables and alternative routes for months. Swedish FM: Israel committing war crime by starving civilians in Gaza
Stockholm – Saba: Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergaard said on Thursday that Israel's use of starvation as a method of warfare against civilians is prohibited and a flagrant violation of international law. During a press conference, Stenergaard added that depriving civilians of food, water, and medicine constitutes a war crime under international law, stressing the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. She emphasized that "the situation in Gaza is catastrophic, and it is essential that food, water, and medicine quickly reach the severely affected civilians, most of whom are women and children, who are currently living in completely inhumane conditions." YSA denounces silence on Gaza, backs regional resistance
Sana'a - Saba: The Yemeni Scholars Association on Thursday issued a strong condemnation of the sanctity and reprehensibility of silence regarding the ongoing crimes, starvation, thirst, and genocide in Gaza. In a statement, the YSA asserted that the religious obligation to support Gaza intensifies with every new casualty and every day that passes, despite the inaction of numerous Muslim nations and regimes. The YSA declared that there is no excuse for leaders, armies, and peoples across the Muslim world to refrain from "jihadist movement" to aid the oppressed, deliver humanitarian supplies, and stand with the just Palestinian cause, which it described as "the epitome of truth and a distinguishing mark between faith and hypocrisy." Furthermore, the statement expressed absolute support for the Yemeni Armed Forces' "great jihadist operations" and the leadership's "firm and principled decision" to back Gaza. The YSA's statement noted that these operations cause "great concern to the Zionists and protect the Yemeni people from divine wrath that will befall those who remain indifferent.
