PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — More than two weeks ago, a woman was camping with a family member at Table Rock State Park when she was reported missing.
Now, law enforcement has suspended the search.
On Tuesday, hikers like Dylan Moore expressed concern for what may have happened to Womacks.
'You kind of wonder what happened to her, what caused her to go missing out here,' Moore said.
Pickens County officials said 52-year-old Stephanie Womacks was reported missing on March 3. She was last seen wearing a brown hoodie, jeans and black sneakers.
Billy Gibson, the county's emergency management director, said it has been an all-hands-on deck to find Womacks.
'We had air support from a SLED helicopter, we used our drones, we use several K9s out in the field,' explained Gibson. 'At our lowest point we were about 30 people doing ground search, at our highest, we are at about 100. So, the area has been covered very well.'
Gibson said that with the park being full of spring breakers, search efforts would be counterproductive. He said deputies plan on getting back out as quickly as possible, before the summer foliage makes it even harder to search the difficult terrain.
'We've had a lot of folks working on this,' he said. 'A lot of resources have been used and some of those folks are very good at what they do and for us, not finding a resolution at this point, it has been kind of frustrating for our folks as well.'
No foul play is suspected in connection to Womacks disappearance, officials said.
'It has been a bit of a mystery on what could've happened, but we are going to continue our search down the road,' Gibson said. 'It may not be an everyday occurrence, but we will continue to try to look for Mrs. Womacks and try to find some closure for the family.'
Anyone with information about Womacks is asked to contact the Pickens County Sheriff's Office at (864) 989-5500.

Emmanuel Haro disappearance: Police seize father's car in search for missing 7-month-old

Police in California have seized a car belonging to the father of a missing 7-month-old as they investigate the baby's disappearance. The car, which belongs to Emmanuel Haro's father Jake Haro, was "collected for evidence processing," Mara Rodriguez, public information officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department (SBCSD), confirmed to USA TODAY on Aug. 20. "Investigators have not ruled out anyone's involvement and are following up on all leads and tips," Rodriguez said. SBCSD said in a release on Aug. 20 that Jake Haro has retained an attorney, but detectives would still "welcome their cooperation as we continue efforts to locate Emmanuel." Rebecca Haro, Emmanuel's mother, said he was kidnapped outside a retail store in Yucaipa, California, on Aug. 14 before 8 p.m. local time, according to a release from SBCSD. However, police said they found "inconsistencies" in Rebecca Haro's statements and have not ruled out foul play. Possible sighting of missing infant reported, police say Rodriguez confirmed to USA TODAY on Aug. 20 that investigators have received a report of a possible sighting of the infant. The sighting was in Kern County, but no information as to where in the area has been provided to investigators, Rodriguez said. In an update shortly after 2 p.m. ET on Aug. 20, SBCSD said "investigators have followed up on the reported sightings" but Emmanuel Haro has not been located. Kern County is about 180 miles north of the San Bernardino area, including Yucaipa, where Haro was last seen. Cabazon, where Haro is from, is about 20 more miles away from Yucaipa. What happened to 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro? Mother said he was kidnapped Rebecca Haro told news outlets, including KCAL and KTLA, that the family was in Yucaipa for another child's football practice. She said she went to a sporting goods store to buy a mouthguard for her other child when she realized her infant's diaper needed to be changed. She said she was changing her son's diaper outside her car when a man assaulted her and knocked her unconscious. When she regained consciousness, the infant was gone, Rebecca Haro told police. In interviews with local TV stations, Rebecca Haro appeared with a black eye, which she said she got from the assault. "I took him out of the car seat and laid him on the chair. I had his diapers right here, and someone said, 'Hola.' I couldn't even turn. I don't remember nothing," Rebecca Haro told the outlets. USA TODAY has been unable to reach Rebecca and Jake Haro for comment. Police continue to investigate baby's disappearance. Here's what has happened so far. Investigators said in an Aug. 18 update they have "conducted extensive searches" in both Yucaipa and Cabazon. "Investigators have served several search warrants at the Haro home and utilized K9s to aid in the investigation," SBCSD said in a release. Officials also said they are reviewing surveillance video from areas of interest. On Aug. 16, SBCSD said in a release that investigators have not ruled out foul play in Emmanuel's disappearance. Multiple people, including Rebecca and Jake Haro, sat for interviews with investigators. "During those interviews, Rebecca was confronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement and declined to continue with the interview," the sheriff's department said in the release. Emmanuel Haro was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. He is about 24 inches tall, has brown hair and brown eyes and is cross-eyed, according to police. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The disappearance of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro has sparked an investigation by police into his whereabouts as deputies said in an update that "several search warrants" have been served at the family's home and the car of Emmanuel's father was seized. Newsweek reached out to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department (SBCSD) via email Tuesday night for comment. Why It Matters The original report by the child's mother, Rebecca Haro, of the alleged abduction of Emmanuel in a parking lot of a shopping center raised immediate concerns of public safety. What To Know In an update on Monday, deputies said that "Investigators have served several search warrants at the Haro home and utilized K9s to aid in the investigation. Additionally, a large amount of surveillance video has been obtained from areas of interest and are being reviewed." The sheriff's department added that "extensive searches" for the infant have been undertaken in the cities of Yucaipa and Cabazon. Local media outlet KTLA in Los Angeles also reported that the vehicle belonging to Jake Haro, Emmanuel's father, "was previously seized to be processed for evidence," citing the sheriff's department. In an interview with KTLA, Rebecca previously said that the incident occurred outside Big 5 Sporting Goods on the night of August 14, where she went to buy a mouthguard for her older son's football practice. Haro said she brought Emmanuel with her and noticed he needed to be changed. "I was going to get the diaper and somebody said, 'Hola,' and I don't remember anything since," Rebecca, who had a black eye, said in tears, KTLA reports. "I woke up here on the floor," she said, adding that she did not see the child afterward. In a follow up post about the investigation on Saturday, deputies said they interviewed Emmanuel's mother and father and could not rule out foul play. "Investigators interviewed multiple individuals, including Emmanuel's parents Jake and Rebecca Haro. During those interviews, Rebecca was confronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement and declined to continue with the interview. At this point in the investigation, investigators are unable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emmanuel," the update said in part. Authorities did not issue a statewide AMBER Alert because no vehicle or suspect descriptions met the alert criteria, KTLA reported. Jake's history with law enforcement was also reported by The Orange County Register, noting that he had previously been convicted of felony willful child cruelty in June of 2023. Vincent Hughes, defense attorney representing Jake and Rebecca Haro, commented on the father's past, according to CBS News, saying, "There was a conviction for child cruelty, which Jake is not running from. He's not hiding from his record; it's publicly available information." CBS News also reports that a 2-year-old was removed from the parents' home after the mother's story stirred doubts among authorities. "Not one thing has been cited as an inconsistency," Hughes said, according to CBS News, adding that "law enforcement is being extremely tight-lipped about the situation." Local media outlet FOX11 LA is also reporting that Emmanuel's parents are receiving death threats, according to Hughes. Baby Emmanuel Haro, who remains missing this week. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office What People Are Saying The Uvalde Foundation for Kids in part: "We cannot in good conscience utilize our team and resources when so much is missing in this case," the foundation said while also adding that "We hope law enforcement will continue to pursue the case so that this precious child may be found and placed in a safe environment." Hughes, according to CBS News: "Find Emmanuel, that's all the family is asking for. Nobody is searching for a 7-month-old child, and that's the biggest issue here." Court documents allege that the camera was hidden in a Bluetooth speaker and the recordings were taken between Jan. 1, 2023, to April 23, 2023. While investigating, Wilmington Police Detective Codey Juillerat requested help from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) 'due to the nature of the allegations and the specialized capabilities of their digital forensic unit,' Gibson said. Investigators executed a search warrant at Cordell's house and found evidence of voyeurism and concealed recordings of both adults and minors. Court documents indicate that the minors were 'in a state of nudity' in the recordings. 'Due to the extensive volume of digital evidence and the number of victims identified, the investigation was lengthy and thorough,' Gibson said. Cordell appeared in court on Monday and is being held on a $75,000 cash bond and a $25,000 recognizance bond, WCPO-9 reported. His pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 12, according to court documents. [SIGN UP: WHIO-TV Daily Headlines Newsletter] Solve the daily Crossword
