In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Rick — who did not want to reveal his last name — said his son, Levi, 18, was allegedly planning to meet Pheobe, his high school sweetheart, at the Perth Airport in Western Australia on May 15.
Rick told the outlet that Levi waited for Pheobe, who was supposed to have boarded a flight in Queensland on the opposite side of the country, but she never arrived.
PEOPLE reached out to Queensland Police for comment on Saturday, June 14, but did not receive an immediate response.
"Levi absolutely adored Pheobe," Rick told the Daily Mail.
'They would video chat all night, every night, falling asleep — and then they would tell each other who was sleep-talking the next day,' he continued.
Rick said Levi had been excited for Pheobe's visit for weeks.
'Levi had bought Pheobe a Canon camera worth $1,000 because she wanted to get into photography," he said, adding, 'A week before she was supposed to land, Levi had packed the 4WD up with camping gear.'

'He had planned a trip to Esperance in [Western Australia], camping on the beach with Pheobe. They were both really excited about that,' Rick continued.
The father of six added, 'It's so heartbreaking seeing what could have been a beautiful future together shattered into pieces.'
Rick said his son is 'still traumatized' by Pheobe's disappearance, and he told the outlet that this is the second major tragedy his son has experienced in a short period of time, as his mother died in a car crash four years ago.
Two suspects have been charged in connection with Pheobe's murder, per a June 5 press release from the Queensland Police.
Australia's ABC News, SBS World News and News.com.au reported that the suspects are Pheobe's housemates James Wood, 34, and Tanika Kristan Bromley, 33.
"They have been charged with one count each of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse," police said, adding that both suspects were due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 6.
The news came one day after it was reported that Wood had been arrested and questioned regarding Pheobe's disappearance, according to Australia's ABC News and News.com.au.
On June 6, police confirmed that authorities had found what was believed to be human remains at around 2:30 p.m. local time "following a search of an area near Good Night Scrub National Park near Gin Gin," per a release.
While the remains have yet to be positively identified, Pheobe's mother, Kylie Johnson, shared a statement on Facebook that same day, writing that the news was 'ripping [her] apart.'
A candlelit vigil was held in Pheobe's memory on June 8.

A prayer service held for a mother and two children killed in a shooting incident in Co Fermanagh has been told that 'we cannot rationalise what should never have taken place'. Vanessa Whyte, 45, a vet originally from Co Clare, her son James, 14, and daughter Sara, 13, were killed in a suspected triple murder and attempted suicide at a house in Maguiresbridge on Wednesday morning. Ms Whyte was originally from Barefield, a village near Ennis in Co Clare. Hundreds of people attended the prayer service, which took place in Barefield on Sunday evening. Parish priest Fr Tom Fitzpatrick said that Ms Whyte was a woman who loved her children 'fiercely', and wanted the best for them. He described how she worked hard and laughed a lot, and carried burdens 'we may never fully understand'. Fr Fitzpatrick added: 'Vanessa Whyte and her son James and daughter Sara, the unspeakable tragedy that has befallen our parish is something that is very hard to focus in on and get our minds around. 'But we're here, and that's the main thing. And we are here as well, not just praying for the three of them tonight in a very special way, and asking the Lord to take them to himself, that they be at peace. And I know they are. 'We're also here to remember and be a support for (Vanessa's mother) Mary and her family, and the siblings. They're at home tonight, they decided not to come.
