Daily Mail2 days ago

Sam Thompson was joined by his pal Chris Hughes for the second day of his gruelling 260-mile endurance challenge.
And Chris' new girlfriend JoJo Siwa made sure to send her support to the former Made In Chelsea star as she sent him a motivational message.
Appearing on Hits Radio, the singer, 22, told Sam: 'No matter what burn yourself out, burn those little legs out, keep it pushing!'
'You're gonna be proud if you do it. In five days from now you are either going to be really proud or you're gonna be like "Damn I probably could have done it if I had tried a little harder.
'So don't have that regret.'

Chris, 32, and JoJo officially confirmed their relationship this weekend after sending fans wild with weeks of loved up speculation.
Congratulating his friend amid his new blossoming romance after hearing the message from JoJo, Sam remarked on Chris' happiness.
'He looks incredible happy, and I have told him to just chase the happiness that's the most important thing in this world.
'And I am really happy for you mate you look over the moon and it makes me happy. So anything that makes you happy keep cracking on.'
Chris joked: 'I said to Sam on the way round "keep it pushing", and that's her terminology rubbed off on me.'
Sam has been given the task to travel a mammoth 260-mile journey on both bike and foot to deliver the match ball to its new home in Old Trafford, with the hope of raising much-needed funds for Unicef.
To complete the challenge, the I'm A Celeb star is expected to run a marathon for five days and cycle in between, ensuring the ball arrives on June 6, just in time for kickoff on Sunday, June 15.
Sam, who is suffering from a calf injury, was soaked head-to-toe by the heavy rain during Tuesday's challenge.
The star decided to cycle the remaining miles after revealing he 'popped his calf' and was strapped into a medical table just the day before.
As Sam looked visibly downcast, Chris gushed: 'He's emotional, he's upset and it's tough because he's got to go again and it's relentless.
'I was saying when we were going around I've so much admiration for you Sam because I'm struggling with this... knowing that I'm going to stop in a minute and Sam has to carry on this amazing journey, raising so much money, it's warrior like...
'Please donate because Sam is going through the wringer here, I've seen the tears, I've seen the grit and the determination - keep supporting the boy!'
Earlier in the day, Chris smirked when he was grilled about his relationship with live on This Morning.
The former Love Island star appeared on the daily ITV show from Towcester where he was covering Sam's Soccer Aid challenge.
During the segment, host Ben Shephard asked Chris a cheeky question about him and JoJo.
'Can we just say, because obviously we're all talking about it. Congratulations on the relationship, we're all very excited, have we decided whether it's Hughes-wa... what's the power couple name?' Ben asked.
Co-host Cat eagerly added: 'What is it going to be?'
'They call it Co-Jo, that's the one they're all going for,' Chris replied.
The two presenters gushed that they liked the name and Chris commented it 'rolls off the tongue'.
JoJo and Chris have sparked frenzied speculation about their relationship status over the past few weeks since they met in the Celebrity Big Brother house back in April.
Their relationship has grown from platonic to romantic and the Dance Moms star confirmed that she and Chris have made their relationship official, and she's started calling him her boyfriend in an interview with Capital Radio.
On Sunday, Chris sent fans into a frenzy when he shared a steam bedroom snap with JoJo on Snapchat.
Sharing the sweet image of himself and JoJo cuddled in bed together, he captioned the image: 'Sleeping beauty.'
While in an interview with The Guardian, JoJo gushed about her blossoming romance with Chris, when asked whether things between them were still platonic.
She said: 'It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.'
The Dance Moms star also hit back at speculation that their relationship is a 'PR stunt,' saying: 'Clearly, you've never been around us. I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now.
'Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.'
JoJo also appeared on Sunday's edition on Sunday Brunch, and fought back tears as she emotionally shared how Chris has been embraced by her family since he first flew to the US to surprise her for her 22nd birthday last month.
She said: 'She loves him, she does love him. My parents think the absolute world of him, and him and my Dad are like best friends, Chris was actually telling me this yesterday, they went to the spa together yesterday.
'They're literally best friends, Mom Siwa she absolutely adores him. I love watching her watch us, because I've never seen my mom so happy, and it's... it's... I could cry.
'Honestly, it makes me happy to have everybody act as... it feels like we're a family, it feels like he's been in my family for how ever many years it feels like forever.
'He gets along as well as I do. I think he loves me because of my parents!'

Fury over video of Brit women fighting in vicious brawl at Tenerife hotspot

Dramatic footage of the brawl, filmed in the early hours near an infamous nightclub strip, shows the two British women grappling on the pavement as jeering onlookers egg them on Two British women have been caught in a violent street fight on a notorious Tenerife nightclub strip - a scene that's ignited a firestorm of outrage among locals already fed up with drunken tourist antics. Dramatic footage of the brawl, filmed in the early hours near the infamous Las Verónicas strip in Playa de Las Américas, shows the women grappling on the pavement as jeering onlookers egg them on. One lunges at the other, slamming her into the ground. The move is followed by a flurry of punches before passers-by finally intervene to tear them apart. The video, shared on Instagram via the account @tenerifequejasvecinales, has since gone viral, sparking renewed calls for tighter controls on nightlife and an increased police presence in the south of Tenerife. ‌ ‌ Social media users flocked to the comments to slam the tourists for their unruly behaviour. "This is becoming unbearable," one said. Another wrote: "What a disgrace, and it's only getting worse." The fight has echoed what many residents see as the dark side of mass tourism in Tenerife's south - and comes at a time when the island is already grappling with a drop in British bookings and rising local unrest. Anti-tourism reached boiling point on May 18, when thousands of demonstrators flooded streets and beaches across the Canary Islands. It comes after a sharp 8% year-on-year decline in UK summer reservations, according to Santiago Sese, president of Tenerife's Chamber of Commerce. He warned on Friday that British tourists are being lured elsewhere, citing gains in countries like Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and Morocco - while UK-targeted ad campaigns are failing to bring more travellers in. Tenerife welcomed a record 5.6 million visitors in 2023 - 600,000 more than in 2019 - but the strain is showing. In March 2024, angry slogans like "tourists go home" and "your paradise, our misery" were scrawled across buildings, highlighting simmering resentment over rising costs and stagnant wages. Anti-tourism campaigners also claim that the rise in Airbnb and holiday lets have sparked housing issues, with a growing number of homes becoming unavailable to rent to locals. "Everything is for tourists... this is our prison paradise," a disgruntled local wrote on a Facebook community forum. "Just try to understand us local people. If you don't[,] go home!" Officials have yet to respond publicly to the latest street brawl.

Mum who abused son so badly he had to have his legs amputated to be freed early from prison

A mother who abused her child so badly he had to have his legs amputated is to be released early from prison. Jody Simpson and Anthony Smith were both jailed for 10 years in 2018 for torturing their son, Tony Hudgell, who is now 10. He was just 41 days old when he was assaulted by the pair and left untreated and in agony for 10 days. The attack caused multiple fractures, dislocations and blunt trauma to the face, leading to organ failure, toxic shock and sepsis. The damage meant both his legs had to be amputated. Simpson was due to be released on licence at the halfway point of her prison sentence in August 2022. However, then justice secretary Dominic Raab referred her case to the Parole Board and her release was put on hold. A spokesperson for the Parole Board on Wednesday confirmed Simpson was set to be released. Paula Hudgell, Tony's adoptive mother, criticised the decision in a social media post. "Tony has life long injuries every day he suffers due to her hands," she wrote on X. Tony's case led to a public outcry and calls for child abusers to be given life behind bars. Tory MP Tom Tugendhat, who led a campaign for the changes, which are also known as Tony's Law, said on X: "I'm backing Tony as he faces the early release of his abuser - his birth mum. "Tony lives every day with the pain caused by her crimes as a baby. We must do more to protect children like him." Tony has since gone on to be a successful fundraiser for charity - for which he has been honoured by the Royal Family. A statement from the Parole Board said: "We can confirm that a panel of the Parole Board has directed the release of Jody Simpson following an oral hearing. "Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community. "A panel will carefully examine a huge range of evidence, including details of the original crime, and any evidence of behaviour change, as well as explore the harm done and impact the crime has had on the victims." It added: "Parole reviews are undertaken thoroughly and with extreme care. Protecting the public is our number one priority." A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: "This was a horrific crime that saw Tony Hudgell mercilessly tortured by his birth parents and our thoughts remain with him and his loved ones. "Now that the independent Parole Board has directed her release, Jody Simpson will be subject to strict supervision and licence conditions. She faces an immediate return to prison if she breaks the rules."
