In a post shared on social media platform X (earlier Twitter), the Take Two Interactive-owned company stated that it featured an equal blend of gameplay and cutscenes, contrary to some viewers' impressions that it primarily showcased story and the game world.
Rockstar also confirmed that the entire trailer was captured in-game on a PlayStation 5, a detail that was also mentioned in the trailer's fine print. Take a look at the post here:
In the post's caption, the GTA 6 maker wrote:
'Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes.'
The latest trailer was released shortly after the announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI's delay from its originally planned fall release to May 26, 2026, a postponement Rockstar attributed to the need for additional development time to meet the studio's quality standards. The game is scheduled to launch on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
The trailer introduced several new characters, including Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre'Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez.
Rockstar Games has also confirmed that GTA 6 is set primarily in
