FOREVER FRIEND: Ghostface 'thrives' on daily play and stimulation
Ghostface, a one-year-old male, short-haired cat, values attention and independence when it comes to getting situated in a new home.
Turns out the kitty, who was dropped off at the Toronto Humane Society in November 2024 after being found wandering around Leslieville, 'likes being the own king of his castle.'
'He is affectionate mostly and he's smart,' said THS spokesman Lucas Solowey.
'But he is a little mischievious. He has a big heart. He's playful. He's full of charm,' added Solowey. 'But basically he does value his independence in addition to affection and like many spirited cats, he prefers attention on his terms and can get overstimulated if petted too much, especially in sensitive areas (like his paws and tail).'
That means he requires a home with no children or other pets, for now, and hopefully, one with owners who have had cat experience and can offer a structured routine.
'I've seen him in different modes where he loves playing,' said Solowey.
'He can just get overstimulated and has some work to do in terms of training but I would say he's really fun. He can sit next to you. He likes being pet to a certain extent. He's highly food motivated. He is actually quite intelligent.'
Solowey also noted that whoever adopts Ghostface — named for his white coat — will get some help.
'Our team is here to support his transition into this next chapter with a new family,' he said. 'He is eligible for free, post-adoption consultation and behaviour training for six to eight weeks.'
Anyone interested in adopting Ghostface can visit www.torontohumanesociety.com, to start the adoption process. — UPDATE: Llama, a one-year-old male Holland lop rabbit, from February's Forever Friend column, was adopted.

FOREVER FRIEND: 'Sweet, shy' mixed-breed pup Stu ready to find a home
Despite his initial shyness, Stu, a one-year-old, mixed-breed male dog, is ready for his Forever Home. 'Stu was brought into the Toronto Humane Society in early May as part of a transfer from northern Ontario — he came in with seven other dogs,' said Toronto Humane Society spokesperson Lucas Solowey. 'He's gentle, he can be shy and he's still figuring out that the world can be a safe and a kind place. He eases into things. He keeps cautious steps. He's learning to trust, but when he does, it's truly something special. Solowey said Stu is interested in new people and places, 'but it can be a lot for him so he just needs to pause, lie down, take a moment to feel OK. 'But with a little patience and some kinds words and maybe a trail of Cesar treats, Stu will find the courage to keep going and get to know new people and new environments,' he said. 'He's not the type to seek out getting pets right away, but given time he'll gently lean into your hand with a quiet kind of trust that feels like a gift.' Those wanting to get to know the key to Stu's happiness should know he loves playing with a tennis ball. 'He lights up when he gets to play with it in the park,' said Solowey. 'Sometimes he'll even take the lead; he'll wag his tail and you'll make sure you're right there next to him. I'd say in terms of behaviour, he's sweet, he's nice, he's gentle, he just can have some nervousness at first and once he eases into that environment, you'll see his tail wagging. You'll want to play ball with him. So lots of sweet things about his personality.' Solowey also wasn't sure about placing him in a home with small kids. 'It's probably best just to start off with him, just because he has some nervousness,' he said. 'So I think just having that calm space and patience will make him feel right at home. And then maybe in the future, once he feels at home with his new family, potentially introducing another dog or pet in the future. He has a good temperament. Just go slow with some patience and he'll be your most loyal friend. He just needs someone to believe in him and take that time with him.' Sarah Michelle Gellar Wants in on The SCREAM 7 Action - 'I'm Waiting on a Call' — GeekTyrant
By now, Scream fans should know to expect the unexpected, characters return from the dead, the rules are rewritten, and Ghostface is never quite who you think. But if Sarah Michelle Gellar had her way, she'd be the next familiar face back in the fold. While walking the red carpet for the new film Pretty Hurts , the Buffy the Vampire Slayer icon revealed that she actually tried to get back into the Scream game, but her phone never rang. Gellar told ET with a laugh: "No, I'm not in Scream, I tried to get in Scream, but nobody wanted me." Gellar played ill-fated sorority sister Cici Cooper in Scream 2 , a character who didn't make it past the second act. But given the franchise's recent trend of bringing characters back from the dead for Scream 7, she figured maybe her time could come again. "They're bringing everybody back. I kept thinking I would get a call. I didn't get a call. There's a lot of people that died in all the Scream movies that are back. Skeet [Ulrich], [Matthew] Lillard, I'm just saying, I'm waiting for my call.' With Ulrich, Lillard, Scott Foley, and even David Arquette coming back, the door seems wide open for some Cici Cooper resurrection, but, Cici probably wasn't a big enough character in the franchise, and I imagine she wouldn't fit in with the story that director Kevin Williamson is looking to tell.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Got Hilariously Real About Wanting to Return For Scream 7: ‘I'm Waiting On A Call'
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's a great time to be a fan of horror, with a slew of upcoming scary movies, including some major '90s franchises, returning to the big screen soon. Two of those big hitters are I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream. And both properties shared one of the biggest It Girls of the time, Sarah Michelle Gellar. However, she was killed off in both series. Now, after it was confirmed she won't be in IKWYDLS after a failed pitch to return, she's humorously holding out hope of joining ranks with other deceased Scream alums. As the world continues to ponder what Scream 7 will be about after the years of turbulence surrounding the coming installment, Gellar is waiting for her call to head back into Ghostface's world. While at the premiere of the 2025 movie schedule's Pretty Hurts, the 48-year-old revealed her wish after mishearing a question about another stellar '90s show that's getting a revival, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She shared with ET that she tried to revive her college-aged sorority girl from the Scream sequel, but to no avail: No, I'm not in Scream, I tried to get in Scream, but nobody wanted me. While I know the Cruel Intentions actress had a relatively minor role in 1997's Scream 2, it would've been real fun to see SMG reprise her character in at least one of the franchise's following blockbusters. However, when it comes to Scream 7, as far as she knows, Cici will not be back. Over the last few years, we've seen one of the best horror franchises pivot into new territory after dropping Melissa Barrera and the exits of Jenna Ortega and the now former director Christopher Landon. With the new ground, it brought back legacy stars like Neve Campbell and many more, which signaled to the Scooby-Doo actress to shoot her shot. She shared that she kept waiting on the phone to ring, but it never came: They're bringing everybody back. I kept thinking I would get a call. I didn't get a call. Again, it's been a whirlwind to hear about production and what will be waiting for the fans as they make their way to the theaters for this upcoming Scream flick. The familiar faces paired with bold claims about 7's Ghostface make it seem like the 2026 film will be a major chapter of the franchise. Yet, as the seventh title continued to mysteriously move ahead, it left many of us confused, including the Ready or Not 2 actress. She wryly marveled that some of the top-tier killed-off characters were picked up to fill out the cast, while she wasn't. Gellar finished her comment by publicly stating she's still open to jumping back into the Woodsboro world: There's a lot of people that died in all the Scream movies that are back. Skeet [Ulrich], [Matthew] Lillard, I'm just saying, I'm waiting for my call. It's true, many past stars have been tapped to rejoin Sydney Prescott's world, including Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Courteney Cox and David Arquette. With Scream challenging all the norms of the genre, wouldn't there be a small space to add the passed Cici Cooper? This is just one small pitch from an SMG and Wes Craven fan; there's still time after all. Regardless, the question remains: how exactly will the fallen be included in Scream 7 since they all seemingly died? Who knows, but we know Gellar isn't on that call sheet (though at least a few of us are holding on hope after her announcement). Until someone on production picks up the phone and calls her, we can relieve her small arc by watching the Scream movies again.
