‘All segments should be united for economic revival'
Addressing the participants of 37th Senior Management Course of National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) Peshawar, he introduced Faisalabad and FCCI in addition to explaining the overall economic situation in the country.
He also responded to the question and queries of the participants and said that textile is the iconic representation of Faisalabad but its industrial portfolio has been entirely changed during the last two decades with diversification.
'Now Faisalabad has a car assembly plant, in addition to the state-of-the-art pharmaceutical, food, confectionary, diaper and tile units which are not only catering to the domestic needs but are also exporting the surplus production,' he said and endorsed the 'Economic Transformation Plan' which has potential to enhance exports up to $100bn by formulating tangible policies in consultation with the genuine stakeholders.
He underlined the need for consistent policies to achieve the ultimate objective of sustainable economic growth. He appreciated the efforts of the Federal Finance Minister and SIFC for the revival of the economy. Coordinator Capt Khalid Mahmood (Retd) offered vote of thanks on behalf of the NIPA Peshawar while President FCCI Rehan Naseem Bharara and Chief Instructor NIPA Peshawar Tariq Bakhtiar, exchanged shields of their respective organizations.

FCCI marks Independence Day with zeal, fervour
FAISALABAD: The business community of Faisalabad observed Independence Day with success in 'Markah-E-Haq' with full enthusiasm and fervour. Rehan Naseem Bharara, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) inaugurated the day by unfurling the national flag in FCCI Complex. The participants of the event chanted slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Pak Army Zindabad. FCCI president in his speech paid glowing tribute to the martyrs who had laid their lives for the creation of a new homeland for Muslims and those who vigilantly defended the hard earned independence. He said that 'Markah-e-Haq' has given a new dimension to the history of Pakistan. He particularly congratulated Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Hafiz Asim Munir, Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf for successfully defending the sovereignty of Pakistan and said that as usual India attacked Pakistan during the wee hours. He said that our repulsive attack gave a clear message to India that wars are not won with latest arms and ammunition but it was the spirit to lay down lives for a noble cause of defending the motherland which plays a decisive role. He said that this attack also fortified the unity among the nation while our youth also played a key role by utilizing their IT skills and crippling the Indian defence system. He said that the business community wanted a positive change in which Pakistan could win global acclimation and be proud to be a Pakistani. Nation should make collective efforts for country's progress: FCCI
FAISALABAD: Rehan Naseem Bharara, President the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) has congratulated the nation on 78th Independence Day of Pakistan and said that we must pledge on this day to make collaborated efforts for the solidarity, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. In his special message on the eve of Independence Day, he said that our forefathers had given unprecedented sacrifices to earn independence. He said that this day has doubled our pleasures as we are not rejoicing our Independence Day but also celebrating the unmatched victory in 'Marka-E-Haq' against India. Bharara said that our armed forces under the dynamic leadership of Field Marshal Hafiz Asim Munir had not only proved their military supremacy but also achieved successes on the diplomatic front. He said that now Pakistan is fully prepared to start a new journey to earn economic sustainability and hopefully it would be included in the developed countries very soon. Rehan Naseem Bharara underlined the environmental challenges and said that Pakistan's share in global warming is negligible but it is included among the most affected countries. He urged the Pakistani youth to plant at least one sapling on Independence Day instead of indulging in the dangerous stunts of one-wheeling and playing honks. ‘Turkish Airlines is ready to start direct cargo service from FIAP'
FAISALABAD: Turkish Airlines is ready to start direct cargo service from Faisalabad International Airport (FIAP) as soon as requisite infrastructure is provided, said Serekan Sonmez, Cargo Operation Head of the Turkish Airlines for Middle East & South Asia. Addressing the business community in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), he underlined the importance of the aviation sector to capitalize the economic benefits in the wake of excellent brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye. He said that currently Turkish Airlines was managing cargo operations from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore while the next destination may be Faisalabad. He also briefed the participants about the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) project and said that movement of cargo was also ensured through sea and road in addition to the air. Rehan Naseem Bharara, President FCCI welcomed the Turk guest and thanked him for unconditional Turk support during the recent India Pakistan war. He said that Faisalabad was recognized as the textile hub just a few decades ago but now it has diversified its production and export portfolio as state-of-the-art tiles, automobiles, mobile phones, pharmaceutical and other industries have also been established here with local and foreign investment. He said that dry cargo of 40 ton per week was available in addition to the seasonal export of 60-to-70-ton fruits and vegetables from Faisalabad. 'This cargo is currently routed through other cities due to the absence of a cargo facility in this city', he said and added Faisalabad has a sizable passenger load. He said that Turkish Airlines could avail from this untapped potential by launching direct passenger flights and operating direct freight service. Tasneem Akhtar Airport Manager assured full passenger and cargo load for the Turkish Airlines if it starts its operation from FIAP. Muzammil Sultan Chairman FDPT, Kashif Zia of PHMA, Engineer Bilal Jamil of APBUMA, Nadeem Iqbal of Travel Association and Rehan Ashfaq also took part in the question-answer session while Jaffar Hussain, Regional Manager Cargo Punjab and Saqib Kareem, Regional Cargo Manager Islamabad Turkish Airlines responded to the different queries. Later Shahid Mumtaz Bajwa, Vice President offered vote of thanks while Rehan Naseem Bharara presented FCCI shield to Serekan Sonmez.
