Meet actor who became an overnight star with 18-year-old blockbuster, now says, ‘Unka saga bhai nahi,' amid lack of opportunities
In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, many actors come and go. But some rare gems come, deliver a blockbuster, and become an overnight sensation right from their debut. One such case is of an actor who captivated a lot of eyeballs as he ventured into the acting world. However, despite his powerful start, the fame didn't last for long, and he didn't get the opportunities he expected.
The actor that we are talking about is none other than Darsheel Safary. Portraying the role of Ishaan Awasthi in Aamir Khan's blockbuster Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel touched an emotional chord with the audience like no other and received a lot of appreciation for his impeccable acting.
However, recently, in an interview, he opened up about not getting the opportunities he expected, 'Main unka saga nahi hoon', he said. Darsheel's sentence spoke about the bias that prevails in the industry between outsiders and a close-knit circle.
Darsheel also emphasised that since he doesn't have any strong ties from the industry, its only through his hard work, he will achieve success. 'Main kaun hota hoon jisse Bollywood ka jodav rakhna chahiye? Main unka saga bhai nahi hoon. Mujhe sirf apni mehnat aur apne hunar par bharosa hai.'
Expressing sadness for facing rejection, he shared, 'Haan, kabhi kabhi raat ko soch kar dil dukhata hai, lekin phir bhi main apne kaam par dhyan deta hoon.'
Clearing the rumours and misinformation, he further revealed 'Log aapke baare mein kya keh rahe hain? Us par zyada dhyan dene ki zarurat nahi hai. Kuch baatein aisi hoti hain jinein aap rok nahi sakte. Har kisi ka munh band nahi kiya ja sakta'. He added, 'Kai baar mere baare mein bhi galat khabrein phaili gayi, lekin main un par dhyan nahi deta. Agar main sab mein ulajh jaoon to mera asli kaam ruk jaayega.'
Darsheel is now all geared up for his upcoming web series Gamerlog, which will stream on Amazon MX Player. The plot of this series is around a small-town boy who has big dreams and wants to achieve big things in the world of e-sports.

'A New Chapter Begins': Dhanashree Verma Hints At Moving On After Divorce From Yuzvendra Chahal
Last Updated: Dhanashree Verma dropped her first post after speaking on Yuzvendra Chahal and her divorce on a podcast. Dhanashree Verma, who sent waves of curiosity across the industry with her recent interview, has now put up an intriguing post. Announcing a new chapter in her life, she has put up a quote saying, 'It's time to rise. A new chapter begins now" which has left fans wondering what this could mean. Could this be a new film announcement, business venture, or a shift in her personal life? Or is she hinting at leaving the industry for good? There have been strong rumors that she's on her way to join Amazon MX Player's unscripted reality show, Rise & Fall, hosted by 'Shark Tank' fame entrepreneur Ashneer Grover. With no further clues, conversations and theories are already running wild across social media. Dhanashree sent the social media into a tizzy when she sat down for a candid chat with Humans of Bombay. Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and her divorce earlier this year was headline news, but Dhanashree had remained quiet — until now. In a heartfelt chat, she opened up about the emotional weight of ending her five-year marriage and the surprising T-shirt Chahal wore outside the courthouse. 'It was very emotional for me and my family," Dhanashree shared. 'I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given, even though you are so mentally prepared that it is going to happen, it was still so emotional. I literally started howling and crying in front of everybody. I cannot even express what I was feeling at that point of time." She explained how she avoided the media frenzy and left through a back gate with her best friend. 'I got out from the back gate because I was not liking that. It was just very sad, you don't want cameras all over your face. Humko kuch nahi bataana tha, I was wearing normal t-shirt and jeans. I sat in the car, my best friend was there with me, and we were still trying to grasp our breath. It was that shaky moment, especially when you know people will blame you only." Yuzvendra Chahal's Side Of The Story Dhanashree's comments came just days after Yuzvendra Chahal shared his perspective on Raj Shamani's podcast, where he denied all cheating allegations. 'When I was going through the divorce thing, people labelled me as a cheater. I have never cheated. You will not get a more loyal person than me. For my loved ones, I think from my heart. I have never asked, just given," Chahal said. The couple filed for divorce in February 2024, with the separation finalised earlier this year. Post-split, Dhanashree faced online trolling, while Chahal is reportedly dating content creator RJ Mahvash. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Aamir Khan participated in a playful prank video with YouTuber couple Nick and Carrie. Aamir Khan recently released his latest movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, on YouTube, leaving the audience enthusiastic. The comedy drama, directed by R. S. Prasanna, is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions. After its theatrical release in June this year, the movie has received immense praise. Now that the spiritual successor to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par has reached the OTT platform, the 60-year-old star can be seen subtly promoting it with content creators Nick and Carrie. As the makers embarked on a new journey on YouTube, Aamir Khan can be seen joining Nick on his 'Celebrity prank on my fiance…" The video shared on the discussion platform Reddit begins with the content creator welcoming the actor with a warm heart, mentioning, 'Hello sir, how are you?" Soon, the actor replies, 'Very good," and poses for a selfie with Nick. The content creator then embarks to prank his fiancée. He says, 'Let's get Carrie!" The video quickly changes to a scene where Carrie can be seen seated on a couch in their living room, all set to watch a movie alongside her husband. Nick then asks her, 'Ready for a movie day?" And as the loving fiancée asks, 'What are we watching today?" Nick informs her, 'Today I'm gonna show you a basketball movie and I bet you're gonna cry." She can be seen making a disgusted face while wondering, 'A basketball movie and I will cry?" The cutie content creator then rolls her eyes and mentions, 'Impossible." Carrie Breaks Into Tears After Watching Sitaare Zameen Par Nick then plays Sitaare Zameen Par on their television set, and we can spot Carrie enjoying the movie thoroughly. Pointing towards one of the funny scenes of the comedy drama, she questions him, 'I'll cry over this?!" The doting husband then assures her to wait till the end. Soon, the scene jumps towards the end of the film, wherein Carrie can be seen extremely emotional and teary-eyed. Panning the camera towards her, Nick says, 'Aww babee are you okay?!" and even offers water to her. Finally, with the deception of going to bring a towel for her, he adorably brings in Aamir Khan in the frame. At this point, when Carrie discovers that the actor appearing in the film was seated beside her, she jumps in shock and excitement. She then cutely hides her face in the towel and utters, 'This is so embarrassing." The Bollywood superstar then questions her, 'Are you liking the movie?" To which the overwhelmed content creator quickly quipped, 'It's really good. I really like it." Aamir further adds, 'But why are you crying so much? It's a funny movie. I hope you are laughing through it." Carrie then reveals, 'I was until you left." Afterwards, Nick informs the actor that he has already won the bet and expresses his gratitude for being present at the exact moment. Carrie leaves the frame, showcasing her utmost embarrassment, leaving the remaining two of them rolling on the floor in laughter. The video was captioned as 'Aamir Khan Features in Video with Nick and Carrie to Promote Sitaare zameen par." Sitaare Zameen Par's Plot It follows the story of a suspended basketball coach who helps a team of players with disabilities prepare for a tournament as part of his community service.
