What is Are You My First?
When does Are You My First? premiere?
In an unconventional twist on the dating show genre, Hulu has announced the launch of a new reality series titled Are You My First?, aimed specifically at individuals who identify as virgins. Scheduled to release on August 18, the show will be hosted by The Bachelor alumni Colton Underwood and Kaitlyn Bristowe. Branded as a 'dating experiment,' this series promises a blend of romantic exploration and emotional vulnerability, wrapped in the sun-kissed backdrop of a tropical paradise, as mentioned in a report by USA Today. Are You My First? positions itself as more than just entertainment. The show gathers a group of single, attractive virgins and encourages them to explore romantic and emotional intimacy in a judgment-free environment. The contestants will engage in traditional dating show tropes, like romantic dates and revealing challenges, but within the framework of sexual inexperience, which producers claim adds a deeper emotional layer.According to Hulu, the format allows for "heated yet heartfelt" experiences, pushing contestants to navigate intimacy without societal pressure. Unlike shows where sexuality is either taboo or hypersexualized, Are You My First? aims to normalize virginity and challenge stigmas around it.Hulu subscribers will have access to all ten episodes of the series starting August 18. The platform offers the series under both its ad-supported ($9.99/month or $99.99/year) and ad-free ($18.99/month) subscription models. This full-season drop mirrors strategies used by Netflix and other streamers, allowing viewers to binge-watch or pace themselves based on preference. As of now, the show will stream exclusively in the United States.Colton Underwood, widely known for his time on The Bachelorette in 2018 and later as The Bachelor in 2019, gained notoriety not only for his athletic background but also for publicly sharing his virgin status on national television. Since then, his journey has included high-profile relationships, a public coming out in 2021, and his marriage to Jordan Brown in 2023.Kaitlyn Bristowe, who starred on The Bachelorette in 2015 and later co-hosted the show in 2021, brings her own experience navigating love in the public eye. Her previous engagements and candidness about relationship challenges offer her credibility and relatability with the show's audience and contestants alike.Together, Underwood and Bristowe promise a balance of empathy and entertainment as they guide participants through this unique romantic experiment. Are You My First? isn't the first show to explore virginity within a dating context. TLC recently introduced Virgins, a docuseries spotlighting individuals in their 30s and 40s trying to navigate intimacy and relationships. However, unlike Hulu's competitive, challenge-driven format, Virgins takes a more observational and narrative-based approach. This emerging trend in reality TV seems to reflect a cultural shift: virginity is no longer treated as a punchline or curiosity, but as a valid—and increasingly visible—aspect of dating and identity.Reality dating shows have often leaned heavily on tropes of physical attraction, fast-paced intimacy, and drama. By focusing exclusively on individuals who haven't had sexual experiences, Are You My First? opens the floor to nuanced conversations about vulnerability, identity, and pressure.Experts suggest the show could play a pivotal role in destigmatizing virginity and challenging the hypersexualized nature of most dating shows. For younger viewers, especially those feeling societal pressure around sex, this could offer both representation and reassurance. While Are You My First? promises typical reality show elements, confessions, flirtations, heartbreaks—it also raises the stakes by centering on participants for whom intimacy may involve both emotional and cultural barriers. The show's tropical setting may provide the backdrop for scenic dates, but it is the emotional arcs that are expected to drive its core appeal.According to Hulu's promotional materials, the program will feature "romantic dates, revealing challenges, and new love interests." It teases a summer of steamy moments mixed with first-time revelations, positioning itself as a heart-centered take on a genre often associated with superficiality. Are You My First? is a new dating reality show on Hulu that focuses exclusively on contestants who identify as virgins. Marketed as a 'dating experiment,' the series aims to explore love, emotional intimacy, and vulnerability in a judgment-free environment. The show is scheduled to release on August 18, 2025, with all ten episodes dropping on Hulu on the same day.

Renuka Shahane Reacts To Report Of Chakda Xpress Being Shelved: ‘I Am Heartbroken'

Last Updated: Renuka Shahane, who worked on Chakda Xpress, reacted to report of the film being shelved, saying she's 'totally heartbroken' as the team put in immense effort. Anushka Sharma's Chakda Xpress was one of her most anticipated projects, and when News18 broke the report that it might get shelved, the news left the industry shocked. Now, Renuka Shahane, who has worked in the film, has revealed how she felt when she learned about the news of the sports drama being shelved. After the news of the Anushka Sharma-starrer getting shelved, Renuka Shahane spoke to NDTV and shared, 'I am totally heartbroken. Basically, because I think everyone has put in so much effort. Anushka has also worked on herself so much for it. And whatever scenes I did were so powerful and so impactful, especially for women in sports." 'Jhulan Goswami is iconic, and coming from a very poor house and making it big—and yet the kind of discrepancy that still exists between men's cricket and women's cricket, and all other sports, I would say—Chakda Xpress had that core quality of sportsmanship," Renuka Shahane further added. Shelved or Postponed? Dibyendu Reveals the Status of Chakda Xpress When News18 asked whether the film had been shelved or merely postponed, the actor admitted to being in the dark. 'I have no idea," he said with the utmost honesty. 'If I had any information about the film, I would tell you first. I really don't know because Clean Slate is on one side and Netflix is on the other. What's going on between the two, I have no clue," he further stated. Why Is Chakda Xpress Facing Delays? Netflix's Chakda Xpress was announced by Anushka Sharma in 2022 as her comeback film after Zero with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in 2018. It is backed by Clean Slate Filmz, a production house run by Anushka's brother, Karnesh Ssharma. Last year, it was reported that the production house's partnership with Netflix had ended, resulting in a delay in its slate of releases. Reports said that Clean Slate Filmz might repurchase the film from Netflix and could look for other platforms for release. Clean Slate Filmz and Netflix have yet to address these claims. Chakda Xpress was meant to be a powerful tribute to the life and career of Jhulan Goswami. First Published: July 29, 2025, 14:23 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Jin Seon Kyu Targeted By Online Impersonator, Agency Plans Legal Action

Jin Seon Kyu's agency, L'July Entertainment, recently warned fans about a fake profile that was made to look like the actor. South Korea's entertainment world is dealing with the problem of fake social media accounts pretending to be famous actors. The latest actor caught up in this is Jin Seon Kyu. His agency, L'July Entertainment warned fans about a fake profile that was made to look like Jin Seon Kyu. This fake account tried to contact people and ask for money. The agency told fans to be very careful so they don't fall for scams or lose money. To stop this, the agency mentioned that they will take strong legal steps against the person behind the fake account. As per All K Pop, Jin Seon Kyu stated, 'We have received reports of damage caused by social media accounts impersonating Jin Seon Kyu and sending direct messages. Jin Seon Kyu is currently not active on any social media platform other than Instagram. Likewise, our company only operates official accounts on Instagram and X. Company staff and affiliated actors do not personally contact individuals or make financial requests. We sincerely ask fans to be especially cautious so that no one becomes a victim of money demands or other damages caused by accounts impersonating Jin Seon Kyu. We will continue close monitoring to prevent any harm, and if necessary, we will take legal action." In May, the agency that manages actor couple Won Bin and Lee Na-young had also warned about a similar issue. They mentioned that someone had been pretending to be a staff member from their company. This fake person contacted some businesses and asked them to pay in advance for things like restaurant bookings and costly drinks. The agency said they have received reports about this and want everyone to be careful. Jin Seon Kyu will soon be seen in the upcoming Netflix series Aema, which is set to release on August 22. The drama tells the story behind the making of the 1980s film Madame Aema, where the actor will play the role of Gu Jung Ho, a producer involved in the film's creation. That's not all, later this year, he will also appear in another Netflix project titled The Price of Confession. It's a crime and psychological thriller, where he will be seen as a lawyer named Jang Jung Gu. First Published: July 29, 2025, 13:42 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
