Video Shows Uber Driver Pointing Gun At Passengers In Florida, Probe Ordered
A disturbing video has surfaced online, showing an Uber driver pulling a gun on a Miami rapper Krissy Celess, also known as Bomb Ass Krissy, and her friend after an altercation over directions. The incident began when Ms Celess allegedly told the driver which turn to take, prompting the driver to become aggressive. The situation escalated when, after Mr Celess commented on the driver's demeanour, the driver suddenly pulled out a gun and pointed it at Ms Celess and her friend in the backseat.
The rapper shared footage of the terrifying encounter on Instagram."Get out of my vehicle now. You're no longer on the ride. Get out," the driver yells while calling 911. Ms Celess believes her comment about the driver's "crazy eyes" triggered the driver's aggressive reaction and led to her pulling out the gun.

Krissy Celess and her friend are planning to sue Uber over the incident.
"I would argue that the Uber driver was extremely aggressive, and the reaction of pulling a gun was extremely excessive. You know, emotions can sometimes spur out of control because of a simple disagreement, but those disagreements do not necessitate a firearm to be pointed at you," said attorney Carlos Dominguez, who is representing both passengers.
In a response to the video, Uber responded: "This is concerning, and we're so sorry this happened." Notably, Uber's guidelines explicitly prohibit drivers from carrying firearms. Uber has now removed the driver from its platform and is cooperating with the investigation.
The incident is being investigated by the Hollywood Police.

Mind the gap: Cop focus on safe distance between vehicles
Kolkata: The Kolkata Traffic Police launched a comprehensive awareness campaign titled 'Mind the Gap' on Friday, focusing on the growing menace of tailgating, which has led to multiple freak road accidents and even road rage incidents across the city in recent months. The initiative, which combines both digital and on-ground efforts, aims to educate drivers about maintaining safe distances between vehicles. "We observed a concerning rise in road incidents linked to tailgating. In the past three months alone, we received dozens of complaints where tailgating was the primary cause," said a senior officer. The campaign will utilise social media platforms, including Facebook, X, and Instagram, to disseminate educational content and safety guidelines. Additionally, traffic officers plan to conduct awareness sessions at major intersections across the city. According to police data, tailgating-related incidents increase during peak hours on major arterial roads like EM Bypass and AJC Bose Road. The campaign introduces the "three-second" rule — maintaining a minimum three-second gap between vehicles — as a standard safety measure. Digital displays at key traffic signals will demonstrate proper distances to be maintained between vehicles and showcase real-time examples of safe driving practices. "We are not incorporating a penalty right now and clubbing it with an MV Act offence. We expect better driver behaviour at the crossings and even during parking," said an ACP. Cops also plan to partner with several driving schools and automotive associations to extend the campaign's reach. Commuter Sumit Banerjee hailed the initiative. "I have experienced aggressive tailgating numerous times. It is dangerous. The two-wheeler riders are the worst offenders." Influencer Sharmishta Panoli Released From Jail After Court Relief
A day after getting an interim relief from the Calcutta High Court, social media influencer Sharmishta Panoli walked out of jail after she was arrested over a communally charged video linked to Operation Sindoor. The 22-year-old influencer from Kolkata was arrested on May 31 for communal remarks she made against a post that questioned India's military response after the Pahalgam terror attack. Ms Panoli was arrested in Gurugram last week after her Instagram post drew protests. The interim bail granted to the influencer yesterday came after the Kolkata police filed a case against Wajahat Khan Qadri, the man whose complaint led to the arrest of Ms Panoli. The man is facing arrest and is on the run. An Assam Police team reached Kolkata with an arrest warrant for Mr Qadri. The Assam Police filed a case against him earlier this week for posting content on social media that contained hate speech and derogatory remarks, which hurt religious sentiments. Ms Panoli's arrest sparked a political row, with the BJP and its allies targeting the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal. She was produced in court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. She even received support from Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch Parliament and the leader of the right-wing Party for Freedom, who said the influencer's arrest is a "disgrace for freedom of speech" and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure she is freed.
