Aprilia Now Offers Extended Warranty On The RS 457 And Tuono 457

NDTV03-06-2025
If you plan to buy the Aprilia RS 457 and the Tuono 457, then you will have an extended peace of mind, because the Italian company is now offering extended warranty on both motorcycles. The standard warranty has been extended from 3 years or 36,000 km to 4 years and or 48,000 km. The extended warranty will be offered to new as well as existing customers, with the caveat being no illegal modifications on the motorcycle(s). Aprilia says it listened to feedback from existing customers and increased the warranty for peace of mind.
What is also good is the fact that in case of a sale, the warranty will be transferable. So, if the current owner sells it to someone else, then the new person will have the benefit of the extended warranty as well. This comes on the back of Aprilia's reliability concerns that was reported by quite a few owners on various platforms in the last few months. The Italian company did release a statement to address its customers.
Sharing more details on the subject, Aprilia said that a majority of these issues could be attributed to two major factors - unauthorised aftermarket modifications and irregular service schedules. The Aprilia RS 457 has been decently successful in India while the Tuono sales are yet to pick up. The RS 457 is priced at Rs. 4.20 lakh while the Tuono 457 is priced at Rs. 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Both motorcycles share the same 457 cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47.6 hp at 9,400 rpm along with having peak torque output of 43.5 Nm at 6,700 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox that has a slip and assist clutch. A quick-shifter is an optional extra on both models.

New FASTag Annual Pass Launched At Just Rs 3000 - Eligibility And Other Key Details

New Delhi: The central government has launched a new FASTag Annual Pass for private vehicles today, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. This new pass, priced at Rs. 3,000, is available for private cars, jeeps, and vans, and can be used at toll plazas on National highways and expressways operated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). Toll plazas on state highways are not included unless they are integrated into the central FASTag system. The pass is valid for one year from activation date or until the user completes 200 toll trips, whichever comes first. Once the trip limit is reached, the FASTag automatically switches to its regular pay-per-trip functionality. At point-based toll plazas, each one-way journey counts as a single trip, while a return journey is considered two trips. For closed or ticketed systems, one full trip from entry to exit is counted as one trip. Notably, this FASTag Annual Pass is exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans that are registered for personal use. To buy the annual pass, vehicle owners must have an active FASTag with their vehicle's registration number. The pass can be bought through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app, the official websites of NHAI or MoRTH, or portals of authorized FASTag issuers. The Rs 3,000 payment can be made using UPI, debit/credit cards, or net banking, but not through your FASTag wallet balance. Activation typically takes up to two hours and is confirmed via SMS. Owners of new vehicles may have a FASTag that is only linked to the chassis number, not the full registration number. In such cases, the FASTag must be updated with the complete vehicle registration number before the annual pass can be activated. With the average passenger vehicle toll costing around Rs 50, the 200 trips would normally cost approximately Rs 10,000. The new annual pass limits this cost at Rs 3,000, which saves about Rs 7,000.

Centre launches FASTag based annual toll pass for private vehicles

New Delhi: The government on Friday introduced FASTag-based annual toll pass for private vehicles on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. The annual pass is priced at Rs 3,000. Cars, jeeps, and vans can use this facility at toll plazas run by the National Highways Authority of India and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The pass is valid for one year from activation or for 200 toll trips, whichever occurs first. When the limit is reached, the FASTag automatically switches to standard pay-per-trip mode. For point-based toll plazas, each one-way crossing counts as a trip, and a return counts as two. In closed or ticketed systems, a complete entry-to-exit journey counts as one trip. Only non-commercial private vehicles are eligible for the pass and it will only be given to cars, jeeps and vans registered for personal use. It is valid on national highways and expressways managed by NHAI and MoRTH. State highway toll plazas are not covered unless they are integrated into the central FASTag system. To purchase the pass, vehicle owners must have an active FASTag linked to their registration number affixed to the windscreen. They should not be blacklisted from purchasing the pass. Some FASTags, especially those issued for new vehicles, may only be registered with the vehicle's chassis number. The Annual Pass cannot be activated on such FASTags and they should be updated to include the complete vehicle registration number. The pass is available for purchase via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app, NHAI or MoRTH websites, or authorised FASTag issuer portals. Payment for the pass (Rs 3,000) can be made via UPI, debit or credit card, or net banking. FASTag wallet balances cannot be used for this purpose. Activation is usually completed within two hours and confirmed by SMS. The average toll for a passenger vehicle is about Rs 50. Completing 200 trips in a year without the pass would cost around Rs 10,000. With the annual pass, the cost is fixed at Rs. 3,000, which saves about Rs. 7,000 for frequent highway travellers.
