Justin Simmons wants the Philadelphia Eagles, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look like the perfect landing spot for him

Fifteen days ago, Brian Baldinger from the NFL Network shared that former Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons' favorite landing spot was the Philadelphia Eagles. And now, two weeks later, Matt Bowen, NFL Writer and Editor at ESPN, explains why Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be the perfect landing spot for Simmons.
Also, NFL Beat Writer at Sports Illustrated, Chad Jensen, explains how Simmons was collateral damage at the Denver Broncos because of Russell Wilson. On the contrary, Steve Bradshaw of TWSN believes Simmons might just go back to the Broncos! In this jungle of free agency, let's read each one of their tropical(vibrant) opinions!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a perfect fit for former Atlanta Falcons safety Justin Simmons
Justin Simmons, former safety for Atlanta Falcons, is a perfect fit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - explains Matt Bowen, NFL Writer and Analyst at ESPN.
Bowen wrote that Cincinnati(Bengals) and Carolina(Panthers) would also work here, but (Justin)Simmons fits really well as an interchangeable safety opposite Antoine Winfield Jr. in Todd Bowles' defense.
The Buccaneers played the most zone coverage in the league last season (71.1% of the time), and Simmons can spin to the post or walk down in Cover 3. He's an excellent communicator with field awareness. Simmons has picked off 32 passes over his nine-year career, including two last seasons.

4-time Second-Team All-Pro Justin Simmons is excellent in leadership, football IQ, and character
On May 19, Chad Jensen, NFL Beat Writer at Sports Illustrated, talked about Justin Simmons' age and performance. Jensen wrote that entering his age-32 season, Simmons is still excellent in several areas, and he will always be as good as it gets from a leadership, football IQ, and character standpoint.
Those are valuable intangibles, but at his age, NFL teams are more focused on the tangible traits in the face of the accelerating vagaries of Father Time.
The metaphorical expression 'accelerating vagaries of Father Time' means time passes quickly as one ages.
Russell Wilson's departure from the Denver Broncos led to NFL Interceptions co-leader Justin Simmons' breakup with the Broncos
On May 24, Chad Jensen further called Justin Simmons collateral damage when the Denver Broncos parted ways with their quarterback Russell Wilson. Jensen wrote, 'Simmons was a collateral damage in the botched Russell Wilson trade and subsequent extension in 2022.
The Wilson release came with an NFL record $85 million in dead-money hits to the Broncos' salary cap, which meant the team would have to move on from some players to create breathing room.
It also necessitated that the team get skinny and young overnight.
If the Broncos didn't have so much dead money due to the Wilson fiasco, would Simmons still have been cut? Perhaps not cut outright, but he probably would have still been approached about a restructure.'
Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Denver Broncos are both perfect landing spots for 2-time Pro Bowler Justin Simmons
On May 24, Steve Bradshaw, Author at The Wrightway Sports Network, wrote, 'While the Buccaneers are a good landing spot, I believe that the Broncos will sign the former Pro Bowl safety.
The Broncos and the Buccaneers are very close in their 2025 outlook.
That being said, the fact that Simmons played his best football with the Broncos should be the deciding factor. Simmons likely believes now that the Broncos can get the best out of him, and it should be a smooth transition rather than having him bounce around.
While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could absolutely sign Simmons, that may not be where he winds up for 2025.'

NFL: Cobee Bryant's cryptic post comparing Lamar Jackson to James Harden sparks fury among Baltimore Ravens fans
Cobee Bryant, a young rookie for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL (National Football League), recently sparked debate with a mysterious post. The Snapchat post displayed an edited image merging two different identities, NFL's Lamar Jackson and NBA star player James Harden. This resulted in the creation of a buzz on social media as fans bashed Bryant. Bryant, who plays as a defensive back, shared a meme on Snapchat with a combined image of James Harden's face with the body of Lamar Jackson. While Lamar is a star quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens and is known for his agile running and passing skills, James is a basketball player famous for his scoring ability but is often criticized for underperforming in NBA playoffs. The post didn't mention any caption or an explicit explanation leading the fans to interpret Cobee Bryant's intention behind posting the image. The meme suggested that both athletes falter when it matters most, in the playoffs. While it might have been intended as a playful jab, many fans especially in Baltimore, found it disrespectful. Lamar Jackson is a beloved figure in Baltimore, having won two NFL MVP awards for his outstanding performances. However, his team, the Baltimore Ravens, has faced criticism for not advancing far in the NFL playoffs, leading some to unfairly pin the blame on Jackson. Similarly, James Harden, despite being a basketball superstar, has faced scrutiny for his teams' playoff losses. By linking the two, Bryant's meme touched a nerve, especially among Ravens fans. Baltimore Ravens passionate fans took to social media, particularly X, to express their anger. Many called out Bryant for being a rookie who hasn't proven himself yet. While Some fans saw it as a playful jab others highly opposed the decision. However, some netizens backed Bryant and extended support with comments in writing comments in his favour.

'ESPN's gonna f**k the showup'- Sportswriter Bill Simmons doubts ESPN taking over Inside the NBA from TNT
With Inside the NBA ending its broadcast on and moving to ESPN, a wide range of emotions has been expressed among fans, basketball players, teams, and NBA legends, who have long been associated with the game. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While fans are excited to see how the shift turns out, American sportswriter, author and film producer, Bill Simmons believes otherwise. Bill Simmons has his doubts about Inside the NBA broadcast on ESPN Faces like Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley, who have been long associated with Inside the NBA on TNT. Things were different, so was their approach. A more open and welcoming discussion on the NBA was how things turned out. But, Bill Simmons feels things will eventually change, even as everybody is excited to see how change is turning out. Simmons, during the latest episode of his podcast said, 'I think ESPN's gonna f**k the show up.' He added, 'Unless they completely change how they do commercials, the show is gonna be different, people are gonna be pissed and Barkley and those guys are gonna be pissed and I think it's going to go badly. The only way it doesn't go badly is if they do the commercials and they give them the lengthy segments that you need to have that show work. They're going to have to change how they do it." "They just paid so much for the NBA that if they don't do that and they do the same short, terrible segments that you're about to see in the Finals where it's like a one and a half minute halftime and it's like a 20 minute pregame, they do that they're going to f**k the show up and everybody's going to be mad," Simmons added. Further, Simmons added, 'Whoever is running ESPN has not cared for this entire century about this. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now This is something they knew was a problem and they just didn't care. They just cashed the checks from the commercials. They did not care about the quality of any show they have.' Also Read: On Saturday, Inside the NBA was concluded by the NBA Legends, who told the fans that nothing will change, and they can expect the same level of enthusiasm. While it was an emotional moment for all, the NBA Legends also shared loving memories from 40 years of the broadcast of Inside the NBA, the legendary show that was once a part of TNT.

Le'Veon Bell shares unfiltered thoughts on Brittany Mahomes' ‘resting b*tch face' moment with Patrick Mahomes
Le'Veon Bell reacts hilariously to Brittany Mahomes' resurfaced clip (Instagram) Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany are used to the spotlight—but it's how they embrace it that keeps fans so connected to them. Whether they're celebrating major milestones or sharing lighthearted moments, the Mahomeses have a way of making the extraordinary feel deeply relatable. A recent viral moment has only added to their reputation as a couple who stays real, even when the cameras are on. Le'Veon Bell confesses his love for Brittany Mahomes after viral 'resting b*tch face' video resurfaces online A resurfaced video from a 2022 Texas Tech basketball game has found its way back into social media feeds—and people can't stop smiling. In the clip, Brittany is captured joking around with a friend courtside, saying, "Patrick told me no resting b*tch face." The moment quickly took off online, with former NFL star Le'Veon Bell reacting with laughter on X, saying, "lol she funny af." It's a glimpse into their genuine dynamic—fun, candid, and unapologetically themselves. The Mahomeses' love for sports goes beyond the NFL field. Whether it's college basketball or pro games, Patrick and Brittany are often seen cheering passionately from the stands. Their energy is contagious, and their courtside banter only makes them more endearing to fans. But their influence isn't limited to sports. Both Brittany and Patrick recently showed public admiration for Taylor Swift after the pop star announced she had reclaimed the master rights to her first six albums—ending a long and personal battle for control over her creative work. Brittany shared Swift's Instagram post with the words, 'Just so amazing,' while Patrick reposted the news with silent but meaningful support. This shared celebration of Swift's achievement speaks volumes about the values the Mahomeses hold—independence, resilience, and respect for personal agency. Even with their close friendship with Swift and Travis Kelce , they've reportedly chosen to keep political conversations out of their circle, focusing instead on mutual respect and shared experiences. Meanwhile, empowerment runs deep in the Mahomes family. Patrick's mother, Randi Mahomes, is carving her own impactful path with the launch of the Sports Parent Academy. Drawing from her personal journey of raising Patrick as a single mom working two jobs, Randi created a platform to help other parents support their aspiring athletes. On Instagram, she shared the heartfelt reason behind the project: "When Patrick was being recruited, I was working two jobs and trying to figure it all out as a single mom. I didn't always know what to do and that's why I made this." The Mahomes family continues to inspire—through humor, authenticity, and heartfelt purpose. Their growing influence is not just a product of NFL stardom, but a reflection of the genuine people they are behind the scenes.
