Ayodhya: In response to the growing influx of tourists and devotees to the city of Lord Shri Ram, the Yogi government has taken a significant step forward. A State-of-the-art parking facility has been created behind the district jail, situated over a vast area of 14,000 square meters, at a cost of Rs 8.5 crore.
Puneet Ojha, Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation Construction Department, said the new facility can accommodate 48 large vehicles, more than 150 four-wheelers, and numerous motorcycles, providing much-needed relief for visitors. This initiative is part of the Yogi government's efforts to position Ayodhya as a major centre for religious and cultural tourism on a global scale.
Millions of devotees and tourists visit the site daily to see the Ram temple, and this parking area has been prioritised to enhance their experience. It is expected to significantly reduce congestion and improve traffic management in the city.
Additional features of the parking facility include different zones within the parking area designated for various vehicle types. Charging stations for electric vehicles have also been installed, promoting eco-friendly travel and catering to tourists who use EVs. This new parking facility not only provides much-needed relief to tourists but also eases the traffic situation for local residents. After entering the Naka via the highway from Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, and Ambedkar Nagar, drivers can reach the parking lot via the overbridge from the mausoleum.

Govt approves shifting of Gurgaon's Kherki Daula toll plaza on Delhi-Jaipur NH to Pachgaon

New Delhi: The govt has approved shifting of Gurgaon's Kherki Daula toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway (NH-48) to Pachgaon, a place beyond Manesar, paving the way for easy commute for lakhs of office goers. When the plaza is moved to Pachgaon, over 15 kms from Gurgaon, commuters travelling between Delhi and Manesar also won't have to pay toll. Locals have been demanding its removal since 2014. TOI has learnt that Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has approved the plan, and to ensure the new spot doesn't see any congestion, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will go for Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) toll collection system. For the new facility, the Haryana govt has provided nearly 28 acres of land to the highway authority, sources said. The process of shifting and starting the MMLF system to collect toll at Pachgaon may take around six months. "Pachgaon is the ideal location as it falls beyond Gurgaon and Manesar. Since there is an interchange of the Western Peripheral Expressway and the NH-48 at Pachgaon, the new toll collection point couldn't have been beyond the intersection," a source said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pinga-Pinga e HBP? Tome isso 1x ao dia se tem mais de 40 anos Portal Saúde do Homem Clique aqui Undo In the MMLF system, vehicles don't need to stop as overhead cameras installed for each lane will read the vehicle registration number and automatically deduct the charge from the FASTag wallet linked to the vehicle. Sources said a decision has also been taken to have an integrated system to ensure that traffic coming from the Dwarka Expressway side and heading towards Jaipur don't end up paying toll at this point once again as user fee. "This is very much possible. Once the annual toll pass for private vehicles is rolled out most of the issues will be resolved automatically," said a source. The shifting of the toll plaza will end conflicts between operators and people from areas adjoining Kherki Daula, and fulfil the promise the Haryana and central govts have been making for the past seven to eight years. Locals have been demanding that the NHAI shift the toll plaza citing that the govt has recovered more than the investment made in constructing the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway by private players and the highway authority. In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha in March, the road transport ministry said against Rs 2,489 crore incurred as cost for the NH-48's Delhi-Gurgaon stretch, the toll collection has been around Rs 2,775 crore, around 11% more than the investment. After completion of this 27-km Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, commuters were paying user fee at Sirhaul (Delhi-Gurgaon border) and Kherki Daula toll plazas. Tolling was stopped at the Delhi-Gurgaon border in 2014, bringing relief to commuters travelling between Dhaula Kuan in Delhi and Kherki Daula. However, those going beyond this point paid toll for the entire stretch. At present, NHAI collects toll through its agency. Meanwhile, sources said the decision to shift the Kherki Daula toll plaza by the road transport ministry will create more pressure on the Delhi govt and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to do away with physical entry fee collection booths on the capital's borders to prevent congestion. Traffic jams at these places defeat the purpose of huge investment in building highways and expressways for faster connectivity to Delhi.

Consumer forum orders tour advance refund for man who had Covid-19

Ghaziabad: The consumer forum has ruled in favour of a man seeking a refund of a tour advance after contracting Covid in 2021. The forum observed that since the cancellation was due to circumstances beyond the consumer's control, the tour operator must return the advance amount and a Rs 5,000 fine within 45 days of the order. Petitioner Ishan Pratap Singh had booked a trip for his family from Mumbai to the Maldives between March 13 and 17, 2021, through Ineedtrip, a travel agency based out of Ghaziabad. Singh told the forum that he took a loan of Rs 1.4 lakh to pay a Rs 1.9 lakh advance to the company for the trip. "I had to take a RT-PCR test (a medical test to determine Covid infection) as per prevailing travel norms, and was detected positive for the infection on March 12, a day before the trip," the petitioner said, adding that he requested the travel agency to reschedule the trip for May 22 that year. However, the agency refused, stating that the free RT-PCR package was only valid until April 2021. "Eventually, I decided to opt for April 1 as the travel date, but given the pandemic and my health condition, I had to reschedule it to Nov 2021. The agent said that if the trip was not availed by Sept 2021, the hotel with which the agency had tied up would forfeit the booking amount," Singh told the forum. He added that the agency did not return the advance money, and he is still paying EMIs for the loan he took. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Что говорит о вашем характере поза, в которой вы спите! Consequently, the consumer forum (Ghaziabad) president Praveen Kumar Jain and member RP Singh heard and passed the order ex parte. "The applicant requested an extension of the dates due to the pandemic and his health condition. The travel agency neither extended the dates nor returned the advance amount taken from the customer, which falls under the provisions of deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act. Accordingly, Ineedtrip is directed to pay the advance amount of Rs 1.9 lakh within 45 days of the order, with an interest of 6% from the date of the order until the final payment is made," the forum ruled. It also instructed the travel agency to pay Rs 5000 as compensation for legal costs and mental harassment to the petitioner.
