New on Prime Video in August 2025 — all the new shows and movies to stream this month

A new month means there's a smorgasbord of new Prime Video titles arriving on Amazon's popular streaming service. There's plenty to get excited about with Prime Video's August 2025 lineup. That's why we've laid out a comprehensive list of everything arriving on Prime Video this month. We've also spotlighted a few standout picks you won't want to miss, including the fourth and final season of Prime Video's sci-fi dramedy "Upload," the Oscar-winning "Conclave" and a new crime comedy starring Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson. Not in the mood for these picks? Be sure to check out our curated guides to the best movies and shows currently on Prime Video for even more streaming recommendations. Now let's dive into everything new coming to Prime Video this August. Prime Video is following the success of "Heads of State" with an explosive new action comedy starring Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer this month. "The Pickup" looks like a funny enough comedy caper, one that fans of last summer's "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" or "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" will no doubt want to check out. Murphy and Davidson team up as a pair of armored truck drivers who get in way over their heads after a routine cash pickup goes horribly wrong. While en route to their destination, they're targeted by dangerous criminals. After a wild chase, the hijackers' savvy leader, Zoe (Keke Palmer), reveals their plans go way beyond the cash cargo. As chaos erupts around them, the mismatched pair must navigate life-threatening dangers, clashing personalities, and the day from hell that just keeps getting worse. Stream 'The Pickup' on Prime Video from August 6 Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar-winner "Conclave" is one movie I did not expect to love as much as I did. I put it on to pass the time during a trans-Atlantic flight earlier this year, and even half-asleep, watching from a teeny, tiny screen, I was glued from start to finish. I'm only half-joking when I describe it as "Mean Girls" at the Vatican, and I'm dead serious when I say it's got some of the top performances of Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci's careers. When the sudden death of the pope sparks a high-stakes election to choose his successor, Cardinal Thomas Lawrence (Fiennes) is tapped to lead the proceedings just as he's wrestling with his own crisis of faith. As the four favored candidates each outline their pitch for the church's future, Lawrence stumbles upon some shocking secrets hidden by the late pope — revelations that not only threaten to upend the election but could rock the very foundations of the Church. "Conclave's" all-star cast, compelling mystery, and Lawrence's affecting personal journey make this one Oscar winner I firmly believe everyone should watch. Stream 'Conclave' on Prime Video from August 9 "Upload" is one Prime Video original I haven't checked out yet, but given that it's created by "The Office" alum Greg Daniels, it's definitely earned a spot on my watchlist. Set in the not-so-far future of 2033, this sci-fi dramedy series imagines a world where people can upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife of their choosing. When computer programmer Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell) dies in a tragic accident, he's uploaded to the luxurious virtual world of Lakeview thanks to his controlling, still-living girlfriend, Ingrid (Allegra Edwards). As he adjusts to his strange new reality, he begins to suspect there's more to his death than he was led to believe. In season 4, the cast will contend with a sentient AI threatening to wipe out Lakeview and the world. With just four episodes to pull off one of the show's most ambitious storylines yet, each installment promises to be packed with high-stakes tension, drama, and plenty of the series' signature wit. I tested Shark's FlexBreeze HydroGo misting fan in a heatwave — and now I can't live without it

The Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo is kicking up a storm this summer. It feels almost cruel to write a glowing review while stock is low and everyone wants one, but in case you're wondering, the rumors are true. This is a brilliant fan that manages to deliver powerful cooling with a small frame. And the misting function? Oh boy, it has me feeling fresh and gently spritzed, not drenched, like I did with its larger counterpart the FlexBreeze Pro. Wondering if it's right for you? Keep reading for my full, honest review. Price $299 / £249 Size 8.65 in L x 8.35 in W x 11.47 in H Colors Dark Gray, Dove, Glacier, Quartz, Lilac, Honeydew Battery UN3481 – Lithium Ion Battery Weight 5 lbs Airflow range 70ft Power 1.6 amps Settings 5 speed settings, 2 natural breeze settings, constant misting, intermittent misting The Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo arrives with some charge, which I appreciated because it arrived on a sweltering hot day. Its charger is pretty bulky, but you can also buy a car charging cord on the Shark website. For $149 / £119, this isn't a cheap option. And there are plenty of cheap fans on the likes of Amazon, so it's not a purchase to make lightly. Luckily, it's been on sale for around $100 / £100 for the past few weeks. I tested although the Dark Gray colorway, but I'd have loved to try the Honeydew or Lilac shades. I love that Shark sells this fan in a range of bright hues, but it's sold out in a lot of the brand's more fun colors right now. Now reduced to just $99 in the Grey shade, the FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan is low in stock at Amazon and direct at Ninja, so this is a deal worth picking up fast. The Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo weighs 5lbs, and while it's not the most compact, I do think it's pretty portable. If you're packing the car for a picnic, there's no reason not to throw it in the trunk. But if you're heading on a hike, it might be a bit too large for your rucksack! There are some removable stickers on the fan which walk you through the settings. I left these on while I figured the fan out, but its controls are pretty straightforward. There's a power button, a misting button (which you also use to toggle between the constant and intermittent setting) and a fan speed button, which you press to increase the fan speed incrementally from one to five, and then between the two natural breeze settings. The natural breeze mode undulates to mimic a more authentic experience, which is a nice change from those fans that pelt you with a rush of air straight to the face, which can dry out your eyes and make your throat feel funny. You can also fill up the water tank on the back of the machine with a flap that lifts and can be positioned beneath a faucet. The water capacity is pretty small. I found that it ran out after around an 45 minutes of constant misting. As for the battery life? I really can't complain in that department. I used this fan on setting 1 for an entire work day, and by the time I was done, the battery level indicator had only changed from orange to yellow, indicating a battery life of around 60%. So that's 9+ hours of contant use on a single charge, and it could probably deliver at least another 9. My partner's parents visited when I was testing this fan, and they used it overnight to help cool our sweltering guest room. They had it on high speed, and reported that it only ran out at around 5am, meaning it gave them 6 hours of contant high-speed cooling. Another impressive feature is how quiet this fan is. I measured the noise produced at a number of levels using the SoundMeter app on my phone. They read: Setting Noise Level (dB) Fan level 1 52 Fan level 2 62 Fan level 3 66 Fan level 4 77 Fan level 5 89 So the noise level ramps up significantly when you need some serious cooling, but the sound quality is not annoying in the slightest. It's a low whirring without any whiny qualities. The misting feature barely makes a sound. It didn't register on my SoundMeter app whatsoever. If I could describe it, I'd say it's like a higher-pitched fizzing noise. After my run-in with drenching my in-laws with the Shark FlexBreeze Pro, I had to choose a less risky test subject with the HydroGo: Me. And fortunately, I had a much nicer experience. As you can see, the mist with this fan is super fine. It's got a decent projection, too. I could leave it on my coffee table while sitting on the couch and still get a light spritzing. It doesn't leave me feeling wet, and my clothes didn't get damp either. I felt pretty confident using it indoors, but I wouldn't leave it on top of my vintage furniture just in case it caused any water damage. Obviously, there's no oscillation with this fan, but its head does lift and lower manually to ensure you're getting the right angle. Oscillation with a portable tabletop fan would be a lot to ask, but seeing as I find this fan hard to fault, it is one feature that I think could level it up. For now, you'll need to get one for you and one for a friend, because you can't share. Is it worth the hype? Yes. Is it worth the price. Also yes. You can find tabletop fans online for a lot less, but I don't know if you'll find one that offers the versatility, battery power, low-noise, and divine misting capabilities of the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo. I do think that an oscillation feature would take this fan to another level, and it wouldn've been nice if the water tank had a little more capacity, but refilling is super easy if you bring a water bottle to the picnic. So if you've been weighing up your purchase, take it from me: the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo is the sidekick you need to survive the summer.

What are the UK's new age verification laws?

As of July 25, 2025, if you're attempting to access adult content online in the UK, you'll need to verify your age to do so. This is due to new child online safety laws which are attempting to prevent minors from accessing inappropriate content online. However, many people within the UK are turning to some of the best VPNs in order to circumvent these laws by spoofing their location to another country. This is due to questions regarding the safety of the new laws, with worries about the integrity of their personal data called into question. Protect your personal data with the #1 UK VPN: NordVPNBased on our testing, NordVPN is the best VPN for the UK. This is down to its rock-solid security and privacy, excellent speeds and ability to unblock just about every site you're after. Plus, you can get it up to 76% off right now, with prices starting from £2.31 per month for a two-year subscription. Plus, you can even get an Amazon gift card worth up to £50 if you sign up to NordVPN's Plus or Complete memberships. This new law is part of the Online Safety Act which aims to prevent minors from accessing content that may be harmful to them. This includes sites that host adult content, including social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, and Bluesky. All these sites are now required by law to block minors from accessing inappropriate content by introducing "robust" age verification techniques. Under the Online Safety Act, companies that fail to introduce these measures may be fined 10 percent of their qualifying worldwide revenue or up to £18 million ($24 million), whichever is greater. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. In extreme cases, if the courts allow, Ofcom will also be able to prevent sites from generating money or being accessed from the UK by requiring internet service providers, payment providers and advertisers stop working with them. The age verification techniques used will very from site to site. However, they will need to be "technically accurate, robust, reliable and fair" in order to fit the requirements set out in the Online Safety Act. For example, X has stated that it will use a selfie-based age verification system that uses its own AI model in order to verify users' ages. On the other hand, Reddit (which introduced age verification to its UK site on the 14 July ahead of the law being introduced) has used external company Persona to verify users' ages either age estimation via selfie or birth date verification via a picture of their government ID. Other verification techniques include providing your credit card details and having your age verified by a payment processor, or providing your email address and having it checked against other online services (e.g. banking providers) to estimate your age. No matter which age verification techniques a site uses, it has still sparked concerns from users about their data being stored or saved without their permission, as well as the potential ramifications of a data breach or leak. Other concerns also include the fact that users accessing certain types of content simply do not want the sites to know anything about them. The new age verification laws in the UK have had many searching for the best UK VPNs to avoid them due to concerns regarding their personal data and how it will be used to verify their age. This is because VPNs can be used to get around location-specific content blocks by virtually relocation you to a different country. A VPN does this by routing your internet traffic through an encrypted tunnel between your device and a VPN server. This masks your IP address and your location as well as keeping your internet traffic safe from prying eyes. We test and review VPN services in the context of legal recreational uses. For example: 1. Accessing a service from another country (subject to the terms and conditions of that service). 2. Protecting your online security and strengthening your online privacy when abroad. We do not support or condone the illegal or malicious use of VPN services. Consuming pirated content that is paid-for is neither endorsed nor approved by Future Publishing.
