IT Min Sridhar launches SITHA app to empower women in Telangana
HYDERABAD: IT Minister D Sridhar Babu reaffirmed the state government's firm commitment to women's empowerment, not merely in word but through decisive and measurable action. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government is on a mission to transform one crore women into crorepatis, and this ambitious journey has already begun.
The minister was speaking at the launch of the 'SITHA' (She Is The Hero Always) app, developed by SheJobs, at a grand event held at Hotel Trident in Hitec City, Hyderabad. He described the app launch as a celebration of a larger movement, one that aspires to provide women across Telangana, regardless of their background, with equal access to opportunity, economic independence, and leadership.
Commenting on the potential of the SITHA app, the Minister noted that it would open international markets for skilled rural women and artisans, giving them a platform to showcase their products and talent.
'This app will serve as a beacon of guidance for rural women striving for economic independence. It is not merely a digital product, it is a powerful step toward rewriting the empowerment narrative,' he said.

They are highly talented and need only the right guidance to excel. Through the Young India Skills University, we are committed to creating industry-ready human capital,' he added. Emphasising the growing global demand in the semiconductor sector, Minister Sridhar Babu reiterated the government's commitment to skilling Telangana's youth in line with industry needs. In a major boost to this initiative, Ken Ku, CEO of Malaysia-based Spring Semiconductors, who attended the meeting, expressed the company's willingness to take responsibility for training 10,000 youth by 2030. 'We commend the Telangana government's dedication to becoming the global hub for skilled talent. Spring Semiconductors will develop a specialised curriculum to train local youth in semiconductor manufacturing and design. The training will involve six months of instruction in Telangana followed by international internships in countries like Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan,' Ku stated. He also confirmed that this ambitious plan will be executed in partnership with T-Consult. Minister Sridhar Babu welcomed this initiative and thanked Ken Ku for his proactive support.

Malaysian firm to train 10K youth from Telangana in chip design
Hyderabad: Even as UK-based semiconductor player ARM Holdings has evinced interest in investing in Telangana, Malaysia's Spring Semiconductors has expressed willingness to take the responsibility to train 10,000 youth by 2030. Telangana IT & industries minister D Sridhar Babu announced this on Wednesday after meetings with delegations from both companies. Spring Semiconductors CEO Ken Ku said the company will develop a specialised curriculum to train local youth in semiconductor manufacturing and design. "The training will involve six months of instruction in Telangana followed by international internships in countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan," Ku stated, confirming that the ambitious plan will be executed in partnership with T-Consult. Highlighting the growing global demand in the semiconductor sector, Sridhar Babu reiterated the state govt's commitment to skilling Telangana's youth in line with industry needs. Terming Telangana's youth as its greatest asset, the minister said: "They are highly talented and need only the right guidance to excel. Through the Young India Skills University, we are committed to creating industry-ready human capital. " The minister said the govt would provide all necessary support to ARM Holdings to facilitate their entry into Telangana and their growth in the state. Two UAE-based firms to invest Rs 2,125 crore in Telangana
HYDERABAD: UAE-based firms Shaiva Group and Taranis Capital have committed to investing Rs 2,125 crore in Telangana. The two companies signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with five Telangana-based firms in the presence of IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Appreciating the investment, Sridhar Babu said: 'We welcome Shaiva Group and Taranis Capital, two UAE-based investors who have chosen to become partners in Telangana's development. This collaboration is expected to create jobs for 5,020 people in the state.' He said the development reflected the government's efforts under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to attract investment and generate employment opportunities for the state's youth. The minister pointed out that the Congress regime had filled over 60,000 posts in the government sector and attracted investment worth over Rs 3 lakh crore in the last 18 months, which, he said, led to the creation of more than one lakh private sector jobs. Sridhar Babu added that the two UAE firms had expressed interest in investing an additional Rs 24,000 crore over the next three years in areas such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, data centres, defence, energy, fintech and public infrastructure. In biotechnology, the focus would be on reducing sugar in consumables, anti-diabetic innovations, food management products and large-scale projects like 'Fourth City' and 'AI City'.
