'Beatles on the Beach' returns to Delray Beach for four days of Beatles-themed fun

Yahoo07-03-2025

DELRAY BEACH — Beatlemania is back, this time in downtown Delray Beach.
The city's international Beatles on the Beach Festival returns this weekend with an expected 10,000 guests in tow. Through Sunday, Beatles bands from Nashville, to Portugal, to Finland will take the main stage at Old School Square's amphitheater.
"The Beatles are in a category of their own," festival producer Daniel Hartwell said. "They are their own genre. They are the Beatles genre."
After attending International Beatleweek in Liverpool, Hartwell asked himself why Florida couldn't do the same. He's run the festival every year since 2019, with a two-year hiatus brought by the pandemic.
This year's headliners are Night Ranger, a classic rock band hailing from San Francisco, Calif., and Live & Let Die: A Symphonic Tribute to Paul McCartney. All-inclusive, day or weekend passes are on sale now, starting at $39.50 per day. Multiple bands will play before the 8 p.m. headliners on Saturday.
It's an event that gets the whole community involved, Hartwell said.
Ticket holders get free drinks, gifts and discounts from venues throughout the city. Some of these include "Beatle Juice" from Deck 84, "Jello Submarine Shots" from Tin Roof and "Magical Mystery Mini Golf" at Putt'n Around.
"We work hard to offer a real quality experience for people," Hartwell said. "And 200 years from now, we'll be still be listening to Beethoven and still be listening to The Beatles. I think that people really feel a soul connection to the Beatles."
Friday, March 7, at 8 p.m. — Night Ranger at Old School Square Amphitheater: The American rock band has sold more than 17 million albums. The group "dominated the scene back in the 80s," Hartwell said, and will play Beatles favorites, as well as hits of their own, like "Sister Christian." Gates open at 4 p.m.
Saturday, March 8, at 8 p.m. — Live & Let Die at Old School Square Amphitheater: This multimedia symphonic tribute to Paul McCartney will feature screens portraying stories that go along with the music. Tony Kishman, the band's lead, was part of the original cast of the Beatlemania musical in New York City. "You will absolutely think you are seeing and hearing Paul McCartney," Hartwell said. Gates open at 1 p.m.
Through Sunday, March 9 — "International Spotlight Band" The Peakles: The Portuguese band "captures the essence of The Beatles' music, bridging generations and continuing to inspire passion." The band will perform at four different venues through Sunday.
Through Sunday, March 9 — Meet-and-greets with SiriusXM hosts: Throughout the weekend, "resident Beatles expert" Tom Frangione will meet with guests and even host a panel at Tin Roof Saturday at 10 a.m. Frangione has been part of the official Beatles Channel on SiriusXM since its launch in 2017. Other meet-and-greets are scheduled with Beatles Channel host Caitlin Larkin, Ringo Starr's drummer Gregg Bissonette and "Beatle Brunch" radio show host Joe Johnson.
Through Sunday, March 9 — Beatles brunches: The first will be the SiriusXM Beatles Channel Panel Brunch at Tin Roof Saturday at 10 a.m. Also on Saturday, Beatles on the Beach Brunch will start at 11:30 a.m. at Deck 84, followed by live music starting at 2 p.m. A different brunch featuring a live band karaoke starts Saturday at 11 a.m. at Throw Social. And, on Sunday, the final Beatles-themed brunch will start at 11 a.m., again, at Throw Social.
A full list of events can be found here. The 2025 Beatles on the Beach lineup can be found here.
When: Runs through Sunday, March 9
Where: Venues throughout downtown Delray Beach, with Old School Square's amphitheater serving as the main stage.

Ted Danson admits he's 'nauseatingly in love' with wife Mary Steenburgen as couple reunites on screen

Ted Danson and wife Mary Steenburgen are "nauseatingly in love" after nearly 30 years of marriage. During SiriusXM's "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" podcast, Danson – who hosts the show with Woody Harrelson – told guest Brett Goldstein that he will be working with his wife, actress Mary Steenburgen, in season two of "Man On The Inside." He also explained that starring alongside each other in the show has made them fall in love again. "Oh, it's just magical. We're falling in love. The story evolves, but I'm just head-over-heels in love with her and to sit there on camera and look into your wife's eyes…. And we're nauseatingly in love in private life and to just disappear into her eyes in front of a camera is pretty astounding," Danson said. Goldstein asked Danson how working alongside his wife has been, and the actor replied, "Oh, it's delicious." Goldstein was full of questions and told Danson, "I am freaked out by the idea of couples who act together. How does it work? And how do you leave your house? You go to work together, in the car? And then what happens? Did you act together before you got together?" Danson explained that he met his wife on the set of a movie, but he learned quickly he had to check his ego "at the door." "I realized part of my job is to host my wife. I was here last year. I am this 'Man on the Inside.' And if she doesn't have a wonderful time, I'm an a--hole. And that's on me. And that's just my attitude," Danson said. Danson and Steenburgen first met in 1983 and married in 1995. They each have two children from previous marriages. In January, Steenburgen admitted that she thought Danson was a bit of a ladies' man before she met him – similar to the character he played on "Cheers" from 1982 to 1993. "I admired him so much as an actor, but I didn't personally know him, and I had this stupid idea that he was, like, maybe kind of a slick guy," she told People at the time. However, she soon realized "how wrong" she was. "Slick guys don't say, 'gosh-a-rooni,' after making love. I'd like to apologize to my granddaughters," she jokingly added. She added that there's a reason Danson is "treasured" by everyone he works with. "He's just so loving and takes such joy in acting that all of us who are hard at work away from our families for long hours get to work on a set that is dictated by his kindness," she said. She continued, "I also fell in love with the sort of father that he is and with his beloved daughters... Ted loves them with all his heart and yet had space in there to love my Lilly and Charlie so perfectly as well. It's pretty thrilling to go through life with Ted Danson." The couple's best quality time is very early in the morning, according to Danson. "The most fun is the early mornings," Danson told People of their 4:30 togetherness time. "Coffee in bed, playing Wordle, Connections, and Spelling Bee, talking and laughing and sharing. To both of us, it's like heaven on Earth." He added, "Even if she's working in a different time zone, we will wake up in time to be able to play our games and have coffee over the phone."

Three celeb-owned Caribbean cribs you can rent for your next vacation

Leonardo DiCaprio pays property taxes on a 104-acre island off the coast of Belize. Johnny Depp's real estate portfolio includes a 45-acre island in the Bahamas. And not to be outdone, illusionist David Copperfield has his own archipelago called Copperfield Bay. Rihanna has a palatial pad in her native Barbados. Mick Jagger's Mustique retreat has hosted rock royalty for decades, and Oprah Winfrey escapes to her estate in Antigua when she needs a break from Montecito. And those are just a few of the VIPs who own a slice of the Caribbean. Best of all, some of them are up for rent for your next vacation. From a jungle retreat in Jamaica to a supermodel-friendly sanctuary in Turks & Caicos, here are the three coolest celeb-owned vacation homes you can book right now. Diplo's jungle retreat Advertisement 7 The DJ spent seven years developing his private paradise. Getty Images for SiriusXM Grammy-winning DJ and producer Diplo spent seven years building his private paradise, Pompey, in Port Antonio, Jamaica. The result is a jungle hideaway that blends natural elements with high-design aesthetics — plus a professional recording studio that has already birthed over 100 songs. 'Half of your studio time should be taking a break anyway,' Diplo tells the Post, explaining why the space includes a polycade and ping pong table made of reclaimed wood from Mexico. So far, the studio has drawn an eclectic mix of artists — both paying guests and friends of Diplo. His neighbor Grace Jones recently stopped by at 3 a.m. to record what he describes as a 'wild song that will never be heard.' Advertisement As much as he loves his studio, Diplo's favorite room is the library where he likes to watch old movies with his son. It features a full glass wall overlooking the jungle, a massive analog music collection featuring 3,000 records, and several rare art pieces. Pompey opened to the public last year — starting at $100,000 per week — with a perk unlike any other rental in the world: it keeps guests happy with some of the island's finest organically grown ganja, sourced from farmers in Port Antonio. 7 Pompey has its own private music studio. Depasquale Maffini But the focal point of the property is the outdoor dining area. It's the best place to take in the estate's surroundings — including a British cannon sourced from an antique shop in Kingston. Advertisement The only downside of Pompey is it's not entirely private. You'll have to share the property with Diplo's four horses, a donkey, a milking cow, and goats. He says sheep and chickens will be arriving soon. As for Pompey's availability, Diplo says he usually is only there in the fall. That said, February is his favorite time to visit: 'It's not too warm or rainy and the days are still long enough to get everything done.' Branson's eco-escape 7 Forget Necker, Sir Richard Branson has an even more exclusive BVI hideaway. Getty Images Sir Richard Branson may call Necker Island his primary home in the British Virgin Islands. But when the billionaire business magnate wants something even more exclusive, he retreats to the Branson Beach Estate on neighboring Moskito Island. The estate, which accommodates up to 22 guests across three villas, is perched on a dramatic outcrop with sweeping sea views. Each of the villas, connected by treetop walkways, have their own personality. Advertisement 'It's extremely hard to pick a favorite,' Branson said. 'All three are unique, from the interiors to the views.' But Headland House is where he and his wife Joan usually stay when they visit two to three times per year. 'My kids Holly and Sam prefer the other two villas, which are nearer to the beach,' he adds. 7 Get bitten, er, smitten with Moskito Island's villas for $20,000 a night. The Branson Estate 7 The estate offers direct ocean access, rocky as it may be at places. The Branson Estate New in 2025, guests can book individual villas (from $20,000 per night) instead of renting the entire estate (from $51,000 per night), making it more accessible for smaller groups. Branson is also ramping up his efforts to be more eco-conscious. For example, the estate employs a high-efficiency glass recycling machine to turn glass bottles into sand for the island's beaches. The estate offers private pickleball courts, direct ocean access (unlike the other properties on Moskito Island), and personal water sports instructors. Who does Branson hope to share his home with? 'Anyone who loves having fun, doing activities like tennis, kite-surfing, hiking, pickleball, a bit of partying and relaxing too.' Brinkley's sanctuary Advertisement 7 Christie Brinkley soaks in the serenity in Turks and Caicos. Sean T. Smith For nearly two decades, Christie Brinkley has owned Lucky House, a three-bedroom beachfront estate at COMO Parrot Cay, the ultra-exclusive private island resort in Turks and Caicos. The supermodel even celebrated her 70th birthday here last year. Built in 2003 and available to rent since 2004, Lucky House offers a newly upgraded outdoor deck and pool area, blending seamlessly into the surrounding pristine sands. The home is available year-round for $12,000 to $18,000 per night, pending Brinkley's approval. Advertisement 7 Lucky House sports a newly upgraded outdoor deck and pool area. Courtesy COMO Parrot Cay But Brinkley isn't the only A-lister with a rentable retreat at COMO Parrot Cay. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is happy to share his three-bedroom Rocky Point Villa, which comes with a private infinity pool and an outdoor gazebo. Fashion mogul Donna Karan's two-story residence, The Sanctuary, rents for $18,000 to $25,000 per night. All rentals at COMO Parrot Cay come with a private butler and access to the resort's world-class spa and private beaches.
